Matthys designed a perfect safari for my family which ensured we had the trip of a lifetime!
5/5

The itinerary options developed and information provided by Matthys allowed us to design a fantastic first time safari for my family. Every detail was considered and we were very well taken care of by the Desert and Delta staff in each lodge. The range of game viewing options was varied enough to keep our kids engaged the whole time. The staff at the lodges were personable and warm, making us feel like we were their only guests. We would definitely go back and use Discover Africa and Desert and Delta again.

Excellently planned custom trip that included Kilimanjaro, safaris and beach time
5/5

Megan did a great job working with me to customize the exact trip that I envisioned. She made recommendations about things that I did not know about and helped me to assure I got the right mix of rugged to luxury. I was met by excellent guides and drivers that spoke English well and made me feel safe throughout the trip. The transports were arranged from the time I got off the flight to Africa and until I got back on the plane. All legs of the trip were covered and went seamlessly. The guide for Kilimanjaro had been trained by the African National Parks and knew about the animals, the climbing routes and health issues that can occur. He was a wealth of great information and a very competent guide. The driver / guide for my safaris also was trained by the National park system and spoke English. There was never a time where the drivers or transports were not on time or made me feel like I was not safe and well cared for. The lodges and tent camps were a mix of luxury to rugged and I enjoyed the mix. Megan smartly booked a second night at a lodge before all my adventures began as I was scheduled to arrive late in the evening. Flying to Africa is quite the ordeal so having critical rest time upon arrival is really important to making sure you are prepared for the rest of the adventure. One thing I wish I had done was book an overnight in Amsterdam on my way over and on my way back. Having 3 flights and 2 of them 8 hour flights that are back to back, having a night to rest in Amsterdam would have been wise for me. I would highly recommend Discover Africa. They are well known and respected in Africa. My luggage was lost on the way to Africa and Discover Africa, while not responsible for this error on the airlines fault, did help me to locate my bag and get it to me before my Kilimanjaro climbing began. Unforgettable trip!

Amazing attention to details
5/5

I would highly recommend Discover Africa, especially Alice. From the very first email, she was attentive to every detail needed to develop the perfect Safari. I had no worries about lodges, transfers, or in country airline reservations. Alice developed several trips for us to choose from based on our desires. Each met every need we were looking for in our trip. She was timely in responding to last minute details as well. Most of all, Alice has been very compassionate with return trip issues. I couldn’t ask for a better travel agent and company. I will most definitely be a repeat client and recommend her and Discover Africa to others.

Trip of a Lifetime
5/5

Our travel agent was Tanya Ellis from Discover Africa. She put together the perfect safari package for our anniversary trip. Luxurious accommodations, airfare, shuttles -- everything we needed. No worries, just a wonderful wonderful trip.

The highlight was an amazing stay at The River Lodge in Thornybush. Top notch service, great food, incredible game drives, and a beautiful romantic setting. If you can stay there -- do it!

Karl from DA certainly hit the nail on the head with our itinerary. Perfect
5/5

Karl's communication was faultless, he replied immediately with information to our Questions. Everything from the vehicle, driver, accommodation, meeting and greeting, food, company, safari our tour was everything and more than we expected. We had the most amazing and memorable time ever. David Anatory our driver was perfect, his communication, his safe driver with a little adventure every now and then :) made the trip for us. He certainly picked up our vibes for what we liked and what we didn't want to experience. We enjoyed his sense of humour, knowledge of and passion for Tanzania. I could go on and on forever about our experience. We rate it 100 out of 100 and if we could afford it we would definitely do again. Thanks DA your great, but a special thank you to David, see you in NZ sometime soon.

Four amazing nights in Botswana and Zimbabwe
5/5

Right from the first query till the last day of reaching back home, Megan was so responsive which made my decision to opt for discover Africa an excellent choice. The challenges and positives of each option was clearly outlined at each step which made our decision matrix easier. The lack of water in okovango was disappointing which could have been given as a disclaimer by discover Africa. Maybe it got lost in the chain of communique.
The three days in Oddballs camp and two nights at Kingdom in Victoria Falls were well managed. ODDBALLS is a basic tented camp but they make up for it with the hospitality. It's not extravagant on food per se, but then the focus is on safari walks so that was fully met by our guides Congo and Alfred. Our aim was to undertake numerous makoro rides in the reeds but lack of water all over Botswana did not see that happening. That basically reduced our reach into the Chiefs island.
The 20 minute flight from Maun to the Camp and 1.5 hour flight from the Camp to Kasane was well managed without any hiccups whereas there were some other passengers who were left frustrated by some tour operators.
Kingdom hotel is a royal place to say but I should say that some of the facilities are worn down and gives a vintage look. The hotel could not accommodate our children in closeby rooms which again in my review gives them a minus.
The Falls are just 5 minutes away and the sun downer cruise and Falls walk organized through Wild Horizons by Megan was outstanding.
Overall an excellent five day package well coordinated and orchestrated by Discover Africa with minimum hassles. Thank you

Fantastic! Very professional. Speedy responses. You can travel stress-free.
5/5

I was in contact with Megan for my family vacation in Madagascar. I only had 5 days to plan it! She was so helpful and cooperative. She recommended Andasibe National Park, which wasn't initially on my radar. It was a fantastic experience. A MUST SEE because you get to interact with so many incredible species of Lemurs. Our stay at the Vakona Forest Lodge was also great. Nosy Be was just a dream. Please visit Nosy Komba and Tanikiley. Discover Africa was so professional and worked so fast. Communication made everything much easier. Thanks for organizing my family vacation.

Exceeded our expectations.
5/5

This was our first trip to South Africa and I contacted 3 companies for itineraries and quotations. Discover Africa stood out from the first email contact, offering an amazing itinerary presentation which was so easy to understand and perfect to share with friends and family. Carli was my contact and she was superb in communication, engaging me with each personal email as if I were the most important client in her day. From first enquiry to booking, we had contact numbers for each of our flights, transfers, accommodation, everything was planned meticulously without any mishaps. Throughout our trip and beyond Discover Africa were outstanding. This was planned as a once in a lifetime experience but my husband and I have fallen in love with South Africa and will surely return, Discover Africa will undoubtedly be our agent, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Way above our expectations and we felt sad to leave!
5/5

From our first contact with Karl, by email, to transferring large sums of money, which was promptly acknowledged, to being met by Petrous at Kilimanjaro, this Safari was way beyond our expectations.
The moment, soon after arrival, the five of us received a boxed gift of a Masai blanket, each, we knew we chose the right Safari operator. Discover Africa, you know the way to a tourist’s heart. Thank you.
The blankets were used at every opportunity during the Safari and are now washed and ironed, at home, with us in Malaysia. A heart warming ,loved souvenir of our 8 absolutely amazing days in Tanzania .
Our guide and driver was totally committed to ensuring we sighted as many big cats, other wild animals, insects and birds as we could. He stopped to show us a line of Martebelli ants and on another occasion,a dung beetle busily preparing its nest. Nothing was too trivial for Petrous.
Returning to a kopje ,which housed big cats ,sighted in the morning to “ see what the lions, leopards and Cheetahs “were up to,now” was the norm each day; it did not matter that we were driving around for 6-8 hours before that ! We feel very grateful that he was assigned to us.
Rational, knowledgeable and calm. He drove skillfully through shocking, terribly muddy ditches. We were impressed and he endeared himself to my husband, our 3 adult children and me.
Accommodation was as expected the first 3 nights but our final four nights were spent in a luxurious, comfortable and absolutely scenic camp - Lemala Nanyukie. Being lulled to sleep by roaring lions was sublime. Food was delicious, the barman Nelson was awesome and staff friendly, warm and hospitable. Leaving the Serengeti was not easy for all 5 of us. We will treasure memories of awesome wild life, trustworthy ,honest ,hospitable people and stunning scenery . Thank you Karl and Mathys of Discover Africa. May we be in contact again, in the future.
