The safari was great, the jeep we rode in was very multi-functional and comfortable. Frank was our driver, he was very fun, keen to help and kept a lovely atmosphere.

Amazing car rides, and services all along the safari trip
5/5

Everything was very good due to the fact that we saw very picturesque landscapes, and we saw a wide range of animals in the safari. The tour was very peaceful and comfortable for all of those people inside the jeep. The cars were in an excellent status, and very clean and useful thanks to their USB ports where you could charge your phone and be able to take amazing pictures, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable in all of the species we came across.

Cheap but high level quality trekking to Kilimanjaro 5 day Marangu Route
5/5

Sorry for google translation - i wrote it in Russian.

We went to Kilimanjaro on the Marangu route for 5 days in December 2019 with Afrishare Trekking and Safaris. In short, I can safely recommend it. There were 2 of us: me and my wife. The guides were Alex and Godfrey. In addition to them, the team included a cook, a waiter and 5 porters - all great guys, everyone worked out with a bang. In principle, there are no questions to anyone. All laid out, as it should, on conscience.

Reservation and coordination with Ibrahim also passed, like clockwork. From the first letter, and I emphasize this, he answered strictly essentially, clearly, to all the questions posed, without vague wording. For Africa, this is rare. We turned to several other places, including directly to the guide advertised at one famous Russian forum. Here his answers immediately made it clear that he even reads letters through the fingers, responds with some kind of random pattern. With Ibrahim, it was the other way around, we realized that everything will be clear here, therefore, the advance payment was also made from Russia without a doubt, although it is believed that in Africa it is better not to pay anything in advance. Ibrahim sent a convenient link to the payment acceptance form for Visa / Mastercard cards. Yes, the payment system took a commission of 3.5%, but it is still much more convenient than some obscure bank transfers. 30% of the tour amount seems to me quite adequate prepayment. The balance was paid in cash the day before the start. Everything went so clearly that it didn't take a single phone call, just a few emails and that’s all.

The day before the start, we wrote to the hotel, the name I wrote to Ibrahim in advance, guide Alex and an assistant to Ibrahim Magembe came. They examined our equipment and, in general, gave the go-ahead.

The next day, a car arrived with a team and we started. We went all climbing in a mode convenient for us, fed well and a lot, for slaughter. Guides were always at hand, ready to answer or help, but they did not impose themselves, they didn’t meddle with conversations, this is a plus for us. In general, it was very comfortable to go, all that was needed was always on schedule, we didn’t rush anywhere, but we didn’t miss anything, we didn’t waste our time.

The assault came later than the rest, at one in the morning, Alex and Godfrey were some kind of robots, they got up with us without their water, they didn’t drink at all! They helped to carry our backpack with our water and tea, we took 2 thermoses from Russia with us - I highly recommend it to everyone! Both up and down (it’s no less difficult to go down by the way, my wife generally went harder from the top than up) went at the right pace, Alex sang breathtaking songs, and generally joked with everyone we overtook. Then he and Godfrey at the top took pictures more than us, as if they themselves had gone there the first time;)

Actually, I repeat the result, Afrishare Trekking and Safaris, despite the fact that they offered one of the lowest prices for climbing (which is also important), organized and carried out everything in the best possible way. Yes, you can probably find fault with something if you want, maybe someone needs to be carried in their arms, but we have no questions. Everything was at a high level.

Amazing Tanzania Adventure with the family!
5/5

Ibra of Afrishare Trekking & Safaris created a wonderful 8 days Tanzania safari for us as a family! And our highly professional guide and driver Atif made sure we felt very safe and comfortable. The big Toyota Landcruiser was spacious enough for all five of us, including our luggage. We started with a supercool coffee plantation tour at the slopes of the Kilimanjaro, including a great waterfalls walk. Then next day the safari started and we did Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. Indescribable what we've seen during the game drives! Thanks to the experience and fanatism of Atif we managed to see the big five and much much more! We will never forget these wildlife safari experiences.
When it's about the lodging, the 2 nights in Osupuko Tented Luxury Camp was definitely a highlight. Unique interactive shower experience in the middle of the Serengeti at 6.30 am, what can you wish more? Also the last stay, close to Arusha, at the Mambo Hideaway was soo convenient.
Ibra was online available during the whole tour for support and some finetuning about the overnight stays and he managed all the time to solve things properly and satisfying.
We highly recommend Afrishare Trekking and Safaris if you want a guaranteed unforgettable and professional arranged Tanzania safari experience. And ask for Atif as guiding driver!

Wonderful Tour Operator--Disappointed in the Southern Circuit
5/5

In early August 2019 I began a safari arranged through Afrishare Trekking and Safaris headed by Mr. Ibrahim Mkwizu. I discovered his company after doing some thorough research on the internet though I have traveled to Tanzania some 6 or 7 times before (total of about three months including two successful climbs of Kilimanjaro), I decided to use a different safari organizer. The reviews of his company were outstanding. In addition to his company, I contacted two other companies to organize a safari of the Southern Circuit including Selous, Mikumi, Ruaha and Zanzibar. The Southern Circuit was the preference of the tour participants. I asked each company to provide a proposal.
Upon receipt of the proposals, Afrishare was the least expensive and their communications in arranging for the safari were prompt and clear. Before making the commitment, I asked Afrishare to provide several names of people in the United States who had used their services. They willingly did so which gave me an important comfort level. The references confirmed the most positive ratings of Afrishare and also Ibrahim. This was true throughout the 9 month period leading up to the safari. What I thought was to be a safari of 6 or 7 people turned out to be a group of 19 people as members of the community learned that I was returning to Tanzania.

We corresponded during the months leading up to the safari making slight adjustments to the itinerary as more people signed up and as new ideas emerged. Ibrahim's responses were always prompt almost too prompt as on some occasions he did not respond for two or three days to only learn that he was on safari or away attending conferences.

Our group needed three vehicles and the safari experience was outstanding. See my comments at the end about the Southern Circuit. The guides were professional both in their knowledge and attitude and some of the safari participants are still communicating with the guides. It appears that some have made long lasting friendships. The use of multiple vehicles was beneficial because on some days, not all the travelers wished to stay our all day. Thus it was possible for one of the vehicles to return back to the lodge following lunch.

Ibrahim's attention to detail was great while we were on safari. I was delighted to see that he greeted us in Dar es Salaam upon arrival in Tanzania though he is located several hundred miles away in Moshe Further, he served as our guide in Dar. Our total trip about 13 days was not without its issues. For example, one of our vehicles broke down in Selous (this is not the first time that this has happened to me). Most importantly the guides were resourceful, and we continued our safari drives that day. Ibrahim arranged for another vehicle by the following morning so that we could proceed with our safari. A few other minor glitches were resolved quickly as Ibrahim was available to make the necessary changes. I give him much credit for doing this. It is important to know that the safari organizer is available and needed when you are on safari.

At the conclusion of the safari, we were returning from a 3 night stay in Zanzibar by ferry and much to my surprise and delight, Ibrahim was there again to greet us again. He wanted to make certain that our transfer to the airport went smoothly.
I cannot say enough good things about Ibrahim and his company. I am in the process of arranging for another safari for 2021 and look forward to working with him again.

In closing let me make some general observations about the Southern Circuit. Having done the Northern Circuit including the Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro, the Southern Circuit was a bit of a disappointment. We were there in the dry season which according to many of the tour guides is the best time to go. The number of animals was considerably smaller than in the north though we saw lots of elephants and giraffes. The traditional herds of herbivores so common in the north were lacking and as a result so were the predators. That said, the first time safari goers in the group were very pleased. For those of us who had previously traveled north, the south was a letdown. I would not return.

Zanizibar an utter delight. Urge everyone to go.
