Excellent 7 days safari
5/5

The safari was all that we expected. Rajab is always very responsive and answered all my questions beforehand. Our guide, Bashiru, made the safari really enjoyable, and everything went according to plan.
We’re glad we chose Raja Tours!

7-Day the big 4 parks trip in northern Tansania
5/5

The trip was absolutely outstanding. Radjab did a great job planing the tour with us. He answered our questions via email within minutes. All of the accommodations were very comfortable.

Our guide Godwin was very kind an knowledgeable. He always found the perfect spot to see the wild animals. Due to his great driving skills we felt safe and could enjoy the wildlife even in areas with rough road conditions because of the starting raining season.

We want to especially thank Godwin and Rajab for their help in the special situation when our flight got cancelled. They managed to get us home safe and fast.
The trip was perfect and their help was far more than we could have expected.

Amazing time with RajaTours in Kenya and Tanzania!!
5/5

Rajatours set us up with the perfect itinerary for our 7 day safari through Kenya and Tanzania. The process of booking was very easy adn Rajab was excellent at responding to us and all of our questions.

Our guides Jeff in Kenya and Godwin in Tanzania were amazing! They were really committed to giving us the ultimate experience. They were excellent drivers and very knowledge about the landscape, the people and the animals. We saw the Big 5 Several times over on our trip.

We opted to drive across the border from Kenya to Tanzania and Jeff walked us through the whole process and handed us off to Godwin in Tanzania.

All of the hotels and resorts we stayed in were amazing with amazing staff and the food was delicious. We never went hungry!

When we go back to Africa in the future we will be sure to reach out to Rajabu at RajaTours and have him set us up again!

Rajatours delivers
5/5

I booked a 10 day combination Tanzanian safari and Zanzibar trip with rajatours for my family of 4 and the raja tours delivered perfectly from begin to end. I had already been to TZ, so Rajab was very flexible to tailor the trip. The accommodations chosen throughout the journey were are all very good, clean and safe. The customer service offered by Fredy our driver and guide for the 5 day safari component of the trip, truly exceeded our expectations. He was knowledgeable, funny and was flexible as he adapted the trip to our needs. All and all, a great local tour operator and good value.

Some Highlights and some low-lights
4/5

I had a lot of back and forth with Raja in preparation to book our 10 day tour, for my husband and I. We were told several times that everything was included in the price except tips (gratuities) and any additional beverages like soft drinks or alcohol. We were also told that we would need visas. We did out best to research online but trusted Raja to arrange the rest.
Highlights:
Raja chose and organized some pretty amazing accommodations and kind, knowledgeable drivers. We saw all the animals and had some memorable wild life moments and accommodations.
Low lights:
Raja neglected to tell us a few very costly things.

1. We arranged to go to a village tour. We were told that the price was included and that it would be around $30 USD per person. We got to the village and were told (quite bluntly) to cough up the cash before we proceeded any further. And it was going to be $50 USD per person. Upon entering, we had a quick walk around their village. A few unenthusiastic songs. A fire demo (where they tried to convince my husband to buy the stick fire starter for an additional $50 USD-- fat chance). And then we were badgered to "slowly slowly slowly" emphasis on the slowly, walk around their market where they kept saying how everything was homemade in the village. Which was a joke because they had the metal parts for bottle openers and key rings that were obviously mass manufactured. We left very disappointed.

2. Raja neglected to tell us that we needed vaccinations for Tanzania. So at the border, we spent an additional two hours in a sketchy "medical office" where they created "documents" stated we had had our yellow fever shots. Now you might wonder why my husband and I didn't look into it before hand? To be honest we did. Or at least we tried. We were under the impression that we didn't need anything. Again, you might think this was our fault but as a tour operator being paid thousands of dollars and as a local Tanzanian, why didn't he tell us. Every person passing through the border had their yellow fever papers in hand so it's something everyone must do-- thus not exactly a secret.

3. Raja neglected to tell us to get a certain kind of visa in Kenya. There are single entry and multi-entry visas. We started in Kenya, went to Tanzania and then back to Kenya to fly home. Upon attempting to reenter Kenya, we had to pay an additional $50 USD per person for a second single visit visa. As opposed to the multi-entry visa that we could have gotten the first time for $80 USD.

In conclusion, we had a very thorough trip to Africa. WE saw all the animals, even the rhino. So we are in no rush to hurry back and see more. We stayed at amazing places -- special shout out to Serengeti Tortillis. And we had very knowledgeable drivers-- Geoff and Manase. If anyone is considering going to Africa, GO WITH A TOUR! As a north american, you have no idea how aggressive the locals can be when they see white people. Having someone there with you who is fluent in Swahili and English saved us so much hassle and concern. And driving in the parks was actually wild !! Even as Canadians who know how to quad (off road 4 x 4) and drive in the snow, we wouldn't have been able to manoeuvre the roads and the MUD!

Raja tours earned our trust and exceeded expectations.
5/5

Raja tours organized a 2 week vacation for our family of 4. A week in Zanzibar and 6 days Northern Tanzania parks and Serengeti circuit. I would recommend to friends and family. Prompt shuttles, quality pop roof land cruiser. The guide/driver was safe, respectful to the animals and to us. The tortillis lodge and farm of dreams lodge were fantastic. Raja tours is a small Tanzanian safari company that was responsive to our itinerary requests. For the price, we were able to bring the kids on safari with us. We were expecting a budget tour - but were pleasantly surprised with the high quality lodges and first class service. If you want a quality, affordable safari, skip the foreign companies that merely subcontract Tanzanians and upcharge 30-50%. Go with this small Tanzanian company instead. You won't be disappointed. We saw the great migration and tree climbing lions! Fantastic.
