The experience of a lifetime!
5/5

We can't even begin to explain how incredible this safari experience was! From the very start, communicating with Joe from Canada to organize our safari was a breeze. He was very helpful in organizing our safari exactly as we wanted it and was able to make adjustments to t he itinerary as we requested.

Everything from the booking process, communication, accommodations, and safari itself were amazing. Collin was an amazing guide and was very knowledgeable. It felt as though our tour had started from the moment we were picked up from our hotel! Collin happily told us interesting facts about Kenya's history, pointing our important landmarks along our drive. He was honest, friendly and professional throughout.

Our actually safari was an experience we will never forget. We were able to spot all of the big 5 all while feeling safe and respecting the natural habitat of the animals in the wild.

Thank you so much for the trip of a lifetime. If there is one thing we would change, it would be to make our safari even longer the next time we visit!

Our 7-Day Southern Savannah Safari with Mufasa Tours & Travel absolutely exceeded our expectations!
5/5

My husband and I flew to Nairobi and embarked on a 7-day Southern Savannah Safari with Mufasa Tours and Travels. We had four stops planned over 7 days- Amboseli National Park, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara.

As for our safari, it was MAGNIFICENT! Kevin and I both agree that it far exceeded our expectations. We travel a lot and have visited many places around the world. We had a feeling the safari would be a terrific experience, but it was far more than that. It was truly one of the most fun adventures we have ever taken and there's no doubt Mufasa is to thank for that. I seriously cannot thank Joseph and his staff enough.

Charles, our private guide for the entire 7-day expedition, was TERRIFIC! We really enjoyed the game drives and his expertise. By the way, I have to brag on Charles too. There were a couple of times that it was apparent that other safari drivers were breaking rules, etc. Charles was always respectful of the animals, the reserves, other tourists and us. I can't brag on him enough. We really enjoyed his company. We routinely asked him to join us for dinner at our camps. He was fantastic and it was a pleasure getting to know him. And, I have to add that I personally enjoyed getting to tour the southwestern part of Kenya. It was fascinating to drive through the country and Charles' perspective added to those trips. I learned an incredible deal from him about the land, its people and its traditions.

As for the camps- they were wonderful. Both Zebra Plains properties were great. We stayed at Zebra Plains properties at Amboseli and the Mara. The service was exceptional and the accommodations were so unique, fun and comfortable. Zebra Plains Mara Camp was my favorite stay of the trip. Kevin, for overall experience, feels the same way.

We also really enjoyed the lodge at Lake Nakuru. That was unexpectedly luxurious and the views were just stunning. Pro tip- if you go, take a bathing suit. YES! They have a pool and the views from it are breathtaking.

The only camp we didn't really enjoy was Crescent Camp at Lake Naivasha. I'm not sure what it was, but the staff there wasn't as welcoming as the other properties. Honestly, at times at Crescent Camp, I felt like we weren't really welcome there. And there is a really noisy public space adjacent to the camp. By the way, this has nothing to do with Mufasa. I doubt they anticipated we would have that experience there.

That said, we really enjoyed our boat ride at Lake Naivasha and walking among giraffes, zebras and gazelles was a truly unique experience.

As far the services from Mufasa, there aren't enough words to express just how gracious we are. Truly. We hoped this would be a trip of a lifetime and it was. I routinely journal all our vacations and share endless photos on social media. I am a media personality in my hometown and many people followed our journey online. I can't tell you how many people have asked me to help them book their trip to Africa too. Obviously, when someone decides they're ready to visit, I will send them to Mufasa- no question about it. Mufasa immersed us in Kenya and I left the trip a different human being.

One suggestion that I have (and I understand that customs vary from country to country) is this- Americans are accustomed to tipping. And we tip for a wide variety of services (porters, waiters, stewards, etc). I did some advance research about tipping and how it worked in Kenya. One source indicated there may a general "tip box" at the lodges. The only one that had that was the Lake Nakuru Lodge. Kevin and I used that box, but also tipped people individually there. In fact, Kevin and I basically tipped anyone who handled luggage for us, served us, cleaned our rooms, etc. We did this at all our camps. That's what we're used to and we enjoy doing that. But I never knew if there were other folks we needed to tip and I was never sure that I was sharing the love with everyone I needed to. We would have gladly done so if the opportunity presented itself. Another pro tip- TIP! Nearly everyone we encountered made sure our visit was the absolute best it could be. Tipping was a small, but important way to share our appreciation.

All in all, we will NEVER forget our Mufasa adventure. It was memorable and magical.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for a fantastic, life-changing adventure.

Excellent tour operator!
5/5

Everything went smoothly from initial enquiries to the safari itself. Communication was prompt and all responses were clear, and Mufasa tours organized everything from pickup in Nairobi to the travel to, and stay in Samburu, as well as the return. Our driver/guide was also friendly, knowledgeable and very punctual in all instances. The accomodation booking was also as promised - It was overall a very worthwhile trip, and would definitely use (and recommend) Mufasa tours again!

Perfect experience!
5/5

The tour was perfectly organized. Joseph has been helpful during the whole tour. Always replying inmediatly and organizing everyrhing on a perfect way. Hotel, food and safary was amazing. Our driver James was also kind and a great driver always looking for our well-being. The only point we did not like was to make a stop in the typical overcharged souvenir shop on our way back to the airport.

Martin was knowledgeable and personable, really all you can ask for !
5/5

Where can I start ! From the moment I got in contact with Mufasa they exceeded any expectation I could have. I think this is the first time I’m writing a review and I have zero feedback for improvement. Joseph who handles the administrative task was very responsive and informative making me feel comfortable traveling halfway across the world by myself.

My Tour guide Martin went above and beyond his role. Not only did he display a high working knowledge of navigating the national park he was such a great resource in helping me integrate with the Masai culture. I got a chance to view the big 5 plus so many more animals in 1.5 days!! While other tour guides struggled to even locate the animals. He shared personal experiences, talked about his upbringing, and so much more. I will consider him a personal friend for the rest of my life and I am not being dramatic, he is just that charismatic!

I had to make last-minute changes to my travel due to work and the staff responded quickly & without issue.

Speaking to other travelers on the Safari I can guarantee you that you will not find a better value outside of Mufasa!

Solotraveler friendly!
5/5

I am a solo traveler and decided to book with Mufasa last minute for two private safaris. Everything was great from the planning to the end. My guide Nelson was awesome and we got along great. Great game drives and felt very well taken care of. Rates were reasonable and worth the private route. They really value customer feedback and I would highly recommend Mufasa!

Perfectly organized Safari with Hosea
5/5

Joseph organized this trip from the beginning to the end and everything was above our expectations. He even helped us with rebooking the flights after Kenya Airways cancelled our flight from ZNZ to Nairobi.

The lodges he booked for us were fantastic, perfectly clean, great locations, and the food was good. We had a private Safari tour of Amboseli, Nakuru and Masai Mara with Hosea, who is the most amazing guide-driver. He found all the animals on our check-list, including the Big Five. Advice – pay an additional fee for the open roof Land Cruiser as we did. Totally worth it and it is better for crazy Safari roads

magic moments in the wild !!!
5/5

I went on safari with Mufasa tours as a solo female traveler. I was a little nervous at first just because I didn't know what to expect but I had the BEST time!!! Patrick was my driver and guide and he was wonderful! I ended up doing 11 days / 10 nights in Kenya exploring Amboseli NP, Aberdare, Lake Niavasha, Lake Nakuru, Samburu and the great Maasai Mara. These were all truly remarkable places filled with unique and beautiful wildlife and with the kindest people. The lodges i stayed at were all amazing, comfortable, clean, spectacular and had some cool moments of animals as well. Patrick, my guide, was always trying to get me to see everything we possible could and boy did we! He was kind, friendly and informative. i got the 4x4 jeep and literally had it all to myself and it was amazing!!! I love photography and to be able to move all around and get shots from wherever i wanted was the best. They were very fast to get back to my request and questions and were very easy to work with. I feel very blessed to have gotten to enjoy just a little bit of what Kenya has to offer and i highly recommend Mufasa!!! I'm still working on getting photos up at this time but if you need some encouragement you can check out some of my pics on my IG- enh8308
