Conscientious
5/5

Had a lovely experience with Primate World Safaris. The tour plan was ambitious and the schedule was jam packed, but the whole time our guide, Ash, made sure that we were comfortable and taken care of; we rested when we were tired, and Ash even went out of his way to add some items to our itinerary when he identified things that he thought would enhance our overall trip (he was right--great add ons!). Ash, on top of his natural friendliness, had a genuine investment making sure that we had a good experience. He took his responsibility as our guide very seriously, as both an ambassador of Primate World Safaris and of Uganda, and as a matter of personal pride. It really showed and I appreciated how he did it all with good humor and grace, always with a huge smile and always willing to sing along in the car.

During the tour, each property that we stayed at felt distinct and unique, with its own character, and the staff at every location was both professional and warm. I can remember each place and set of people distinctly--they don't all run together--which is uncommon when you pack so much in on a single trip, and it's a touch that I really appreciated.

Overall really great experience, would highly recommend!

Final word to the wise -- the elevation in Rwanda is no joke, so if you're doing any trekking while you're there just be prepared for some high altitudes!

Overall Satisfactory
4/5

Though we were overall satisfied with the trip, there's room for improvements.
First of all, we paid higher amount for a big jeep as per quote. On the night we arrived, the van had no A/C. We had the same van next day.
We got a different van on the 2nd day of trip with A/C. After a delay in start, we were made aware of things beyond their control and a jeep was there on the fourth day but it was a very small jeep. We both being photographers, when the top was open, it was hard to stand without slamming our entire body onto each other and the window were too small to maneuver the cameras; unable to get the wanted shots. Our luggage and other things were on the back seats. The small jeep was too crummy to move around.
Frank took great interest in showing us the animals particularly elands and other rare monkeys. We gained a wealth of knowledge about Uganda.
There were things that we wish were taken care of just like other drivers. We are seasoned travelers and have seen the drivers/guides who clean windows, floors, remove garbage on daily basis, wait on the customers every single time. These are minor things yet make a difference when the new day comes to enter a clean jeep. The most important factor for any safari traveller especially a photographer is to capture good images and make videos capturing the essence of the sounds which give life to that particular situation. In our case, 95% of the time, we have videos with the driver's voice as he was on the phone all the time. After telling him in passing, I had to tell him straight on the very last day in a nice way telling that I would like the video to have just the forest sound and it is the last day. Other than that which is a major issue with video recordings, I should say that we were happy with the arrangement of the tour. We were recommended to this site by travelers we met in our other travels. This means people are happy with this company. I have already given much recommendations to many fellow travelers, shared the site info and Mr. Araali's name, our contact representative. He always replied to all my emails with all the questions answered. There are some travelers who are eager to contact this agency. Having said that, I will use this agency again if I come back to Uganda.
Small things can be rectified. Humans can change and Life goes on.

Excellent trip; 10/10 would go again
5/5

We had an excellent trip with Primate World Safaris, with special thanks to our guide Ash. Jackson was great to work with ahead of the trip - he helped design an itinerary that met our specific needs (length, countries, locations, price, etc) and was very communicative whenever we had questions. During the trip, Ash was excellent at adjusting when natural things happened (for example, one chimp trek went very long, so he got all of our activities that were supposed to happen that afternoon rescheduled for the next day). We also really enjoyed the locations that we stayed at - it was clear that they were very well thought out: hotels that were comfortable and supporting the local community. Meals provided were extremely large and we were never hungry. The safari car was also very comfortable - we appreciated having a radio with the USB connector to listen to music on long drives, and the mini fridge stocked with water and other beverages was very handy.

100% Local Company sustainable and in support of local communities. Flexible and individual.
5/5

Booked a 15 days tour of Uganda. With the support of Jackson, tailored the trip to our personal needs, including participation in the Source of the Nile Ultra Trail run. No problems for Jackson and his team. Local Guide George was absolutely fantastic, making our holiday an unforgettable experience. Goerge went over and above his duties to ensure we got more than we asked for. You can not wish for a better team to serve you. Minor glitches with booked accommodation were resolved quickly and efficiently.

Excellent service from the time we arrived at the airport and the duration of our trip.

I highly recommend this company. The staff/driver guide (George) was such a joy to be with during our entire trip. We enjoyed all the game drives and were allowed time to take as many pictures as we desired.

Gorilla encounters exceeded expectations!
5/5

The highlight of my adventure in Uganda was gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. A storybook location made famous by the movie Gorillas-In-The-Mist. Rushaga Gorilla Lodge was right out of the movie set, with amazing views of the rolling hills in the Rift Valley home to the Mountain Gorilla. From the moment I arrived, I felt the mystical atmosphere of this idyllic location. Greeted by a chorus of local women performing a traditional welcoming ceremony, I knew this was going to be a very memorable adventure.

As the sun rose over the valley, mist appeared to shroud the nearby hillsides, as I prepared for my gorilla tracking experience. What an amazing start to a truly spectacular adventure. On my two, very different, tracking adventures, I experienced truly unique encounters. Silverbacks fighting over territory and mating rights and a silverback enjoying the pleasures of Babylon, along with the interactions and playful nature of gorilla families. Sign me up for another adventure.

While viewing gorillas was my primary reason for taking this trip, I thoroughly enjoyed the other highlights of white water rafting on the Nile, chimpanzees interaction on two separate occasions, game drives in two National Parks, with tree climbing lions and interaction with local community activities.

All of this was made possible by my enthusiastic and excellent guide, George. We spent 13 days together during which he opened my eyes to all that Uganda had to offer. DON’T let your preconceptions of Uganda dissuade you from experiencing all that this country and tour has to offer.

Just DO IT!

Wonderful guides for a rich cultural and wildlife experience.
5/5

We had a wonderful experience with our 9-day Ugandan safari through Primate World Safaris. Due to the uncertainties around COVID travel, we planned our trip on relatively short notice - Jackson was incredibly responsive and helpful as we worked to get everything in order about three weeks before our planned trip date. Jackson responded within hours to any question we had days, nights, and weekends (above and beyond what we expected) and even helped us navigate the visa application and approval process.

Jackson and Geoffrey met us at the airport in Entebbe and helped us negotiate the additional COVID screening protocols in place at the airport for a relatively painless arrival considering the circumstances. Geoffrey was our guide from Kampala forward and took excellent care of us as we traveled throughout the country - he did an excellent job catering the trip to our needs. He is incredibly knowledgeable across a wide range of subjects - any time we had questions about the people, cultures, politics, or wildlife of the places we visited he provided us with insightful answers.
All of our accomodations were of high quality, and Geoffrey had personal relationships with the staff, who were invariably very friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of at each stop. Geoffrey and Jackson also did a nice job planning our accomodations and tour stops so that our money made its way back into the local communities as much as possible, which we really appreciated.

The trip had many highlights - the immersive treks with the chimpanzee in Kibale and gorilla families in Bwindi Impenatrable forest were truly breathtaking experiences. Geoffrey was outstanding as our game-drive guide showing us elephants, lions, bufalo, hippos, leopards, antelope, and the national bird of Uganda, the African crane.

Jackson met us and Geoffrey back in Kampala to see us off, and we got to meet Geoffrey's young twins as well which was another highlight at the end of our trip. Geoffrey said from the beginning that he would treat him as family - and we felt that throughout the entire trip.

We would recommend Primate World to anyone considering a Uganda safari - and are really hoping to return at somepoint ourselves.

Competent, thinks out of the box, resourceful, problem solver, kind, had a great time bec of Jackson
5/5

We booked safari from Aug 19th till September 1st, visiting Masai Mara and then Uganda. From the beginning, Jackson communicated promptly and clearly to all questions, no matter what time of the day. We started the journey in Nairobi, our guide was Allen who is quite knowledgeable about animals and roads of Masai Mara, made sure we experienced the Great Migration. Highlight was watching mother Cheetah and her 3 Cubs. Next stop was Entebbe, Uganda. Jackson arranged for our luggage to be transported via Jeep otherwise we would have payed $300 for excess baggage (baggage weight limited to 15kg for 2). In Uganda we saw the origins of Nile, Chimpanzee trekking, and big 4.During our Uganda Stay, our guide was Geoffrey, extremely knowledgeable of the country (politics, geography, nature, roads) but most importantly kind and considerate. My husband got ill during the trip, Geoffrey took us to community hospital at night and stayed there throughout to ensure that Peter gets the right care. In Entebbe, both Jackson and Geoffrey took care of his medical needs and we will always be grateful.
Despite the medical set back, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The flexibility of itinerary was helpful, enjoyed nature, appreciated hospitality and kindness of people of Uganda. We feel that we got more value for the money. They delivered more than we were expecting. We are planning to return in July 2022 to do Gorilla Trekking.

Our trip in Uganda would not have been the same without Primate World Safaris !
5/5

We highly recommend Primate World Safaris for a trip in Uganda. We booked a car with a driver for our French family of 6 for 2 weeks in August. Jackson, the manager, was always available to answer our questions about the booking or the country on WhatsApp or by email. The booking was easy and Jackson made sure we were happy with our driver during the trip.
Geoffrey, was not only a driver but also a guide and an activity planner. We thank him very much for his kindness and professionalism. He knows every road of his country, including the good ones of the national parks where we saw a lot of wildlife, including the big four (we decided to skip Rhino Sanctuary). Thanks to Geoffrey, we learnt many things about Uganda’s culture and history. He did his best for us to enjoy our stay.
Our trip in Uganda would not have been the same without Geoffrey and Jackson. Thank you Primate World Safaris !
