As a guide he was great. He persuaded us to wait a while when we could see a leopard be ... Read morehind a bush, and sure enough it was worth the wait, as she emerged clearly, walked down into a ravine and jumped up the other side. We had 3 separate sightings of the very illusive leopard.
We had sightings of elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, we saw everything but the Rhino.
We even saw part of the migration when a long column of Wildebeests ran by. We didn't see them going across the river, but understood we were too late in the season. Steve recommended we come back in August.
The camp was excellent, especially the restaurant where the food was superb. I am extremely hard to please, and was able to eat every meal. Excellent chef, and the chap in charge was excellent too, I've forgotten his name. I was disappointed the pool was not available.
The only downside was the journey to and from Nairobi over the unmade roads, very bumpy and tiring. I felt sorry for the driver having to negotiate such awful terrain for so long.

It was the greatest experience ever!

We only had 3 days and we wanted to see the maximum. I can't thank Bateleur Eagle Safaris enough for making our trip unforgettable and stress free.

I wish we had more time to spend in Kenya. I thought the time won't be enough to enjoy , but they made it absolutely possible and enjoyable. They actually made it hard for us to leave.

Matthew and his team did an incredible job from start to finish on meeting us and walking us thru every part of the safari. They meet us at the airport the moment we landed and took over the rest. I will definitely be bringing my small children over.

The first drive was great -In our first 2 hours we saw Lions, Cheetahs, Elephants etc. The rooms at the camp were also good value. The next morning We couldn't believe our luck and managed to see all of the big 5! It was one of the best days of our lives for sure.

We did a 16 days safari trip with Bateleur Eagle Safaris. We started booking pretty late about a month in advance. We thought we were late but actually the booking was very smooth. We got in touch with Mathew in the Kenyan office who helped us with the quote. He was very efficient and also very patient with us. We had so many questions (being our first time to Africa) but Mathew answered them al ... Read morel. The first leg of our safari consisted of Samburu, Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara. Our driver guide Steve was very knowledgeable with animals, birds and plants. He talked about Kenya and Africa in general with pride. We could definitely tell that he loved his job. He was very patient with us and went out of his way to make sure that all our demands were met. We were in tears when saying goodbye to him to cross over to Tanzania.
We switched vehicles and driver guides at the border and met our second driver guide Bashir. Our Tanzania portion will take us to Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park. Bashir was also very knowledgeable and jovial. We instantly fell in love with him and the beautiful country. It was the perfect combination!

We saw hundreds of lions, many rhinos both black and white (especially in Nakuru and Masai Mara) seven leopards including 2 kills, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, wild dogs in Samburu, big herds of elephants and many many more. This was the best vacation we have ever had. I am coming back next year with my family and friends and we have already started planning. I can't wait to meet the entire Bateleur Eagle Safaris team! The safari itself was great. We did a 6-day tour so the pace was perfect. We saw almost everything we wanted to see and much more. We let our guide know what we were looking for and he went above and beyond to deliver that to us. A list of animals we saw on the trip: wildebeest (felt like millions of them), lions (including a couple of beautiful males), multiple cheetahs (as they were feeding!), leopard, rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes of all kinds.
