I would not use this company
2/5

The safari day and crater day were good everything seemed to be going well.
When we arrived at the second hotel it went down hill from there, the hotel was not as expected. Food took nearly 4 hours to come out and didn’t want to eat it as it was cold and looked awful as such we did not want to eat breakfast and risk food poisoning, when I gave feedback to the person I was in communication with for our tour I was told to “just go and eat the food multiple times.
The next day we arrived at the waterfall experience, where there was a complete lack of communication, I was very clear that we had an older person traveling with us and therefore couldn’t do much physical activity.
There was a 30 minute walk which involved climbing down and up rocks to get to the waterfall.
The lack of communication and the behaviour of the tour guide was unacceptable, the tour guide tried to push us into doing something else when we were very clear we could not do that activity, we lost money as they wouldn’t give a partial refund and made the end of our holiday very unenjoyable.
I would not recommend this company if you are traveling to Tanzania

Thank you for your feedback,

We truly regret to hear about the challenges you faced during your trip with us, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Regarding the hotel,
We understand that your expectations were not met, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. However, it is important to note that the hotel was booked independently by you. Upon receiving your feedback, we reached out to the hotel and facilitated a resolution, which included not charging you for the food that was a concern. We are glad that the issue was resolved directly with the hotel.

As for the waterfall experience,
we deeply regret the miscommunication that occurred. We always strive to provide clear information about the level of physical activity involved, especially when travelers have specific needs.

I understand that the walk to the waterfall was not suitable for your group, and I apologize that did not accommodate this as expected.

I also appreciate you mentioning the matter of the refund.

You had inquired about it, and after providing a response, we did not receive any further communication from you.We would have happily worked with you to ensure the best possible resolution.

We value your feedback and will use it to improve our services. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We wish you all the best in your future travels.

Amazing experience but not perfect
3/5

### Positive Points:
1. Our driver was extremely attentive and friendly, always listening carefully to our requests.
2. The dedicated chef provided excellent meals throughout the tour. The portions were generous and everything was delicious.
3. We were able to see all the animals we hoped to encounter, making the core safari experience fantastic.

### Areas for Improvement:
1. Communication with the tour office was sometimes challenging. We often needed multiple attempts to get our requests across, although they were eventually accommodated.
2. The safari vehicle was outdated with poor facilities. The promised power outlets for charging devices weren't functional.
3. Security concerns: A friend had money stolen from their belongings after being told it was safe to leave items in the tent during the tour.
4. The shower facilities were significantly below expectations:
- Only cold water was available despite being told we could shower morning and evening
- Showers were located inside toilets with poor hygiene conditions
- No prior information was provided about the shower situation

Overall, while the wildlife viewing and food were excellent, the facility standards and communication issues detracted from the experience.

Very good
4/5

I had an amazing experience with Akini Safari Tour! The driver was absolutely perfect—he was not only professional but also genuinely enthusiastic about the safari. He actively participated in searching for animals with us, which made the experience even more special.

The food provided was excellent, and they went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible accommodations. The overall ambience of the tour was fantastic, creating a perfect blend of excitement and comfort.

I highly recommend Akini Safari Tour to anyone looking for a memorable and well-organized safari experience.

Organised reasonably well but should have given more safari time in Serengeti and ngorongoro
4/5

The tour started with Tarangire safari which is a decent experience, with some large herds of elephants and buffaloes. We did see lions and giraffes. The stay at a resort on the way to Serengeti was ok. Serengeti was wonderful and the guide made every effort to take us wherever there were interesting sightings. The camp site at Serengeti was bearable at most and we spent just one night there. We could hear hyenas and a lion roar at night, which was quite exciting. The next half day is all we got at Serengeti though we did see a lion hunting a zebra. After a quick lunch we headed back towards ngorongoro. Considering the distance we had to cover both ways, the stay at Serengeti was far too short (you require at least 3 nights and 3 days for a relaxing Serengeti safari) . We reached ngorongoro before sunset. The tents, stay and the weather were very comfortable. The next half day is all we got (again too short) at ngorongoro. The park though small still requires a full day if you wish to relax and go around at your pace. There again it was found wanting as we just completed everything hurriedly. I feel the guide stopped at too many places on the way to the parks and we spent unnecessary time at stops. The operator (Makini) who organised the tour tried to squeeze in too many things in a short span. We could easily have skipped Tarangire and added another day to Serengeti. The food was great at times and mediocre at times. The guide and chef I would say did their best but as I said we moved too often from one place to the other leaving very little time for them to do their job properly and for us to relax. In the end we did cover a lot of distance which could have been avoided giving us more time for safari.

Best experience of an African safari!
5/5

I’m so glad I found Go Makini Tanzania Expedition! Naomi was incredibly helpful from the start, always answering my questions and providing great support. Our guide, William, was also wonderful—kind, caring, and always going the extra mile. He picked us up from the hotel and took us through Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, finding the best spots where at one point, I could have reached out and touched a lion from my window!
The food was amazing too. While other groups were eating from food boxes, we had delicious home-cooked meals served on plates—every dish was fantastic.
We spent the first night in a room with beds, and the second night in a tent. Watching the sunrise and immersing ourselves in the wilderness was an unforgettable experience.
I can’t recommend this company enough—it was truly worth every penny! Thank you so much!

Great customer service!
5/5

We had 4 days Safari mid range lodge plus a day hike to Kilimangiaro.
Great service and accomodation on the Safari. Tented camps & lodge were beautiful and we found always great welcome and service.
Just the last night hotel in Arusha wasn't at same level, but that wasn't during the Safari.
Naomi was always caring, asking us everyday by msg how everything was.
They also agreed to postpone our last day tour, due to a food poison that we got the night before.
I rarely found this level òf attention by travel agency.
Thank you Naomi and the all staff, drivers and guides.
You made our time in Tanzania very special!
All the best
