Murchison Falls National Park is the largest park in Uganda and was first established as a game reserve in 1926. The park is home to 76 mammals and over 450 different bird species. In addition to a savannah-type landscape bordering the mighty River Nile, the park also features the famous Murchison Falls, whose massive 43 meter falls of boiling water are forced through a 7-meter wide gap before crashing into the wooded country below.
