Murchison Falls National Park lies at the northern end of the Rift Valley. It is the oldest protected area in Uganda, located in Nyoya district and spanning the Victoria Nile. The Park is named after the dramatic Murchison falls where the river explodes violently through a narrow 7 m gap to fall a distance of 47m. The parks wildlife species attractions includes giraffes, Lions, Buffaloes, Uganda Kob, Elephants, Warthogs and an abundance of kinds of birds.
