
Mikumi National Park (named after the spindle-shaped Borassus palm trees) covers an area of 3,230sq km and is rich in wildlife including buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, lion, elephant, impala, hippo, baboon, giraffe, warthog, waterbuck and eland which can be viewed throughout the year. Well, this is not guaranteed because they are not in a zoo. Reptiles including crocodiles, monitor lizards and pythons are also residents in the park.
