EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS!

I spent 12 days in Uganda as part of my trip with Speke Uganda Holidays and they were without doubt the best days of the trip! Uganda blew me away with its diverse natural beauty. Africa's tallest mountain range, the snowcapped Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon, the vastness of Africa's largest freshwater lake, Lake Victoria, the River Nile that begins its journey through the country to the Mediterranean Sea. Not forgetting the spectacular Murchison Falls, Bwindi Impenetrable primeval Forest, expansive savannah plains in QENP, Kigezi terraced hills (Switzerland of Uganda). It's stunning! In the midst of all these you encounter all the wildlife you can ask for..Mountain gorilla, chimpanzees, lion, elephant, hippo the rhinos at Ziwa, leopard, zebra, giraffe, Pumba and a giant bush pig, all the different antelopes and so many birds I got hooked on to bird spotting! :) The people of Uganda warm and welcoming, the climate was perfect for me, hot but not too hot and no rain. Comfortable lodges in beautiful locations.
It was a trip of a lifetime and I shall definitely return to visit more.

The gem of African safaris

The absolute best experience of African safaris. We have previously been to Kenya, Tanzania, Senegal, South Africa. We liked how nature and animals are treated with respect. Hotels built in nature parks do not have gardens, because the animals must be able to move freely in their area.
People are friendly and helpful.
We really liked our tour company, Ngoni Safaris. Everything was great, from the meeting at the airport. Many thanks to Jolly and Sedrik for organizing a great tour. But the biggest thanks to our excellent guide James, who was very considerate, caring and attentive.
We definitely recommend using this tour operator to everyone and especially to our friends.
The best part of the tour was meeting the gorillas. Those were priceless moments when you can be around them and see their work so closely.

Uganda was my 7th African country. It is the best place to see primates in their natural habitat. The parks are well taken care of and offer excellent opportunities to see abundant wildlife. I used Home to Africa and my guide and driver Karim spoke excellent English and had a vast amount of knowledge. He was also curious and looked up any questions I had.
In Kibale National Park we did Chimpanzee tracking. Making eye contact with a group of my closest relatives and watching them groom, eat and play together was very moving.
In Bwindi National Park we did Gorilla trekking and my group was fortunate to find our family in 30 minutes. They moved in and out of the bushes and it was breath taking so see them just appear near you.
In Queen Elizabeth National Park I saw many Savannah animals. Abundant elephants, zebra and different antelopes, even a leopard sleeping in a tree. A highlight was the boat ride down the canal joining the lakes. Excellent for north birding and watching elephant life on the shore.
The view from the lodge in Lake Mauro National Park was stunning. You just want to chill on your verandah with some red wine and just stare. It was a good stopping point between Bwindi and Entebbe and had a surprising amount of wildlife including some I had not yet seen. Zebra heaven.
All the budget level lodges were different but had the basics, a bathroom with hot water in your tent or cabin, comfortable beds and a bar with drinks to chill and reflect on the day you just experienced. Just saying this makes me realize how much I miss it.
Not a drop of rain in February too. Good time to go!

Having a chance to see mountain gorillas and chimpanzees was an unforgettable experience possible in Uganda.
An eight-day trip revealed a lot of animal species, including lions, leopards, giraffes, hyenas and more than fifty bird species. Beautiful landscapes with mountain slopes turned into fields. Tea and coffee grown here and there, cotton, papyrus, rice and plantains - it's all there! Great sky with constellations never seen in Europe. And even though we saw a lot of poverty, the country seems to be growing - there are thousands of workshops and various service points. Friendly people, good quality food, and we liked the unique opportunity to see Batwa Pygmy people showing us the way they used to live. After taking Kibale, Queen Elisabeth, Ishasha, Bwindi and Lake Mburo NPs, we would like to have another trip to see remaining parks as well.
Our time was even better as we spent it with our friendly, responsible and wise guide with great commitment to showing us as much as possible - Eddie Nsubuga Kizito - thank you so much!!!

An amazing and beautiful country with knowledgeable and friendly people. Kidepo Valley in the North definitely worth a visit. We also enjoyed Lake Mbulo, where you can cycle and hike among the giraffes and zebras, and visiting the Karamajong in the North East.

If you’re considering a safari, Uganda should be your top choice - it's a beautiful country in every way. Amazing food, diverse wildlife, friendly people and very safe compared to some other countries in the region. Weather and vibes are perfect, and Uganda offers some stunning accommodation options - whether that be in a jungle, by one of their enormous picturesque lakes, or out on the savannah. A highly underrated holiday choice!

I now know what made Winston Churchil say Uganda is the pearl of Africa, and he was right.

It was our first trip to Africa. We booked through Skyway Expedition in Entebbe and were thrilled. We felt absolutely safe at all times and warmly welcomed. The country is a wonder of nature, a treasure chest for nature lovers. I hope that it will be possible to preserve the diversity and to build up a soft tourism. The people and the country would be to wish it. I hope that I will soon get the opportunity to travel there again.

Uganda was lovely and much more breathtaking than I expected it to be, it’s less crowded than other countries in Africa what makes the trip even more unique.

Home to Africa has been very accomodating and has adapted to all of our requests when planning and budgeting. Our guide, Benon, was fun, kind, patient and knowledgeable. He made us feel very comfortable and was always on the lookout to make sure we were on schedule and had all of our needs met. We were able to see giraffs, zebras, hippos, buffalos, lions, monkeys, baboons, crocodiles, gorillas and many types of birds. The highlight of the trip was the gorilla treck in Bwindi. We saw the gorillas up close and it was absolutely breathtaking and humbling.
