Our guide Khalifa was very friendly, knowledged and very experienced. He answered our endless questions, drove very smoothly, gave us flexibility with different options for the game drives and thanks to him, we saw many animals and learned about them. We’d definitely recommend going on a tour with him, thank you for the tour!
Finding animals where least expected
As somebody who has never went on a safari before, this was an amazing experience. Our guide, Jack, exceeded my expectations when it came to finding the animals of the savannah. For example, at the start of the tour I expressed skepticism that we would be able to see cheetahs, since I imagined them to be secretive and hard to catch, but on Day 2 we found an entire family of cheetahs enjoying their ... Read more meal. In addition, the other highlight animals were lions, elephants, hippos, and hyenas (though no rhinos, but Jack explicitly said they were rare to find). Besides seeing animals, we also went to the Kenyan-Tanzanian border, which satisfied the geography nerd in me.
That said, it is important to come into the tour with reasonable expectations, as the reality is you will be in a rural part of a developing country. You will need to bring your own toiletries, headlamps, and mosquito protection; be prepared to take cold/lukewarm showers as well, and have electricity cut off at night. Of course, this is in and of itself part of the experience, as you would get a taste of how most of the world live their daily lives.
Amazing experience
The safari was amazing and we absolutely adored our driver Khalifa. He went out of his way for us to see the rhino and we managed to see the whole big 5. Will absolutely recommend it to all our friends and anybody who is interested.

It was easy to book, helpful and good experience.
It was so easy to book our trip. We talked over WhatsApp and all my questions were answered. The price was very reasonable.
We went for three nights and our tour guide Patrick was a star! He tried so hard to help us see as many animals as possible and answered all our questions. Excellent guide but complex logistics
We had an incredible experience thanks to our guide, Rutger, who was not only knowledgeable but also went out of his way to help us spot all of the Big Five. His enthusiasm and expertise made the safari truly memorable.
However, we encountered some logistical challenges. The group was merged with participants from other operators, which meant a lengthy process of picking people up from multiple ... Read more hotels before we could really get started. It took a significant amount of time and felt a bit disorganized.
While the overall safari was fantastic and Rutger’s efforts were outstanding, it would have been helpful to receive a heads-up about the shared arrangement. With more transparent communication about the logistics, future travelers could be better prepared for the longer pre-safari pickups.
Very enjoyable safari experience
I really enjoyed the safari experience, I thought the Masai Mara was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Roger, my driver, was a fantastic guide. Friendly, knowledgeable and great at getting sightings and an excellent driver. Would recommend to anyone for a group or a private safari.
I would only say that I don't think the leg to Nakuru was necessary and I would happily have stayed in ... Read morethe Masai Mara for another night. A 4-day Masai Mara tour would have been a lot more enjoyable. However, it seems that this is a standard package with Lake Nakuru and I had absolutely no problems with Axis safari as a company, everything went very smoothly.
The best safari experience you can have
Our tour guide Khalifa is the best in the game. There is no possible way to make the safari more interesting, entertaining and enjoyable than to drive around with Khalifa. I’m afraid if everyone knew how good he is at what he does, I wouldn’t get to go on another safari with him since the queues would be endless!

This was one of the best trips i have booked. Kevin our guide was great. We got to see lots of animals and 4 out of 5 of the big five. He answered all our questions. The hotel accommodation booked were great and was over all a great experience.

There were so many Safari businesses out there and I am glad that I found Axis. The service was outstanding Rita kept me updated on any changes to my 4 day Safari before I arrived.
