Well organized safari. A short morning program briefing would have been appreciated.
The value for money was excellent, and our guide was very reliable and professional. We would have appreciated a bit more information about the daily program, but overall the safari was fantastic. We truly had a wonderful experience.

The tour operator and the guide were absolutely amazing, I couldn’t have wished for anything else.
Axis (and our contact person Monica) have been super responsive from the very start. I asked for quotas from some different agencies and axis was not the cheapest, but the one who gave me the best feeling when in contact so I went ahead and booked with them and I don’t regret it for a second. We got to spend the full 7 days with the same car and the same guide which was very valuable.

Read moreads between the locations were sometimes heavy trafficked with trucks, and cars kept passing them, sometimes with small margins, and I felt like our driver was always in full control and super alert on the surroundings - all and all I felt safe throughout the transportation between locations.
We chose the budget accommodation, and they varied a lot in standard for the actual rooms/tents, but what some of them might have lacked in room/tent standard, they definitely compensated for in hospitality and food.
During our tour we met some other travelers who had booked with other agencies for a cheaper price, but they had to move between both cars and guides a couple of times, and their cars were of a lower standard, which is something to keep in mind when booking a safari - with axis they have their own cars and their own guides, which we truly valued.
When it comes to the guide he has been absolutely amazing, I don’t know if it is possible to ask for a specific guide, and I’m sure the others are great too, but I can’t imagine that anyone could be better than Jack. In Maasai Mara it was clear that he has been doing this for a long time, making a lot of connections and whenever someone had spotted a predator, or any other rare animal, we were almost among the first cars on the spot, and were parked in a perfect viewing point. He was also great at anticipating where the animals would move, so we were the first car to switch location to have a great viewing spot once the animals moved on. During the first 1.5 days in Maasai Mara we spotted all of the big five. Since we travelled in February we also got to see a lot of babies.
It is hard to summarize this whole experience in a concise way, but I am so very happy with the experience and would definitely recommend axis. It is great value for the money!

I got this Safari tour from my daughter, so she made the booking but I know she has felt well taken care of from the start.
Our guide Jack has been the best we could ever wish for. Not only was he a great guide who answered all our questions, and if he wasn’t sure of the answer he checked it up for us. He also was fantastic in finding the best spots for us to make great photos. And in some way ... Read more he was always in the right place. We saw the big five during our 1,5-day visit in Masai Mara. Besides from that he made us feel safe on the roads. Always alert and never took any risks, but still took us fast from place to place. I felt safe from day one.
One more thing, during our tour my daughter had her birthday. I contacted Monica at the office and she and Jack arranged a surprise for my daughter when we arrived to our camp in Amboseli that very day.
I would really recommend anyone who plan a safari to contact Axis.

The trip and the organization were absolutely amazing. Everything was perfectly arranged and ran smoothly from start to finish. I highly recommend this company to everyone. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I will definitely come back again.

We had a good experience with Axis, excellent communication, hotel pick up, good accommodation at Ntulele and an excellent safari. The organisation of the safari has been an excellent and well executed experience. Especially our guide (Nelson or Simba) has been extremely professional and knowledgeable.
And an extra fact, being a vegan , all meals have been customized to this type of food at a delicious level by a great chef at wildnest camp.

I had the opportuni ... Read morety to have 2 different driver/guides, Jack and Khalifa. These 2 men made my safari experience a 100 out of 10. Their many years of experience and safari skills far exceeded anything I could have asked for. Jack was great at jockeying for the best position so we could all get our best photos. Khalifa's 4x4 driving skills through some very wet muddy trails (a heavy rainfall the previous night) allowed us to venture further and see the unexpected.
I chose a mid range package and the accommodation was FANTASTIC, from a comfortable villa to a 4 star hotel.
I recommend Axis wholeheartedly to anyone thinking of visiting the Masai Mara in Kenya.
