Our experience with Axis Africa Expedition & Safaris was simply unforgettable. From the very beginning, communication was clear, fast, and helpful. They ensured we were fully prepared and understood every part of the tour. The guide was phenomenal — incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife and very friendly, always making sure we were comfortable and engaged.

The itinerary was well-paced, the vehicle was comfortable and reliable, and the lodges they arranged were clean, scenic, and offered great service. Every part of the trip showed their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction.
Overall, it was excellent value for money and a journey we’ll always treasure. Highly recommended for anyone planning a safari in East Africa!
We just finished our Safari in Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru and had a wonderful experience! Unfortunately we were not lucky enough to see the Leopard out of the Big Five, but our guide, Peter Kapino, tried his best to make sure we had a great time and saw as much as we could possibly see. And that's part of the beauty of a safari: you never know what you're going to find.

Finally, the only constructive feedback I have is to update the amount of the optional boat trip in Lake Naivasha. We were initially told that it would cost 20 USD pp, however the current price is 30 USD pp. Not enough to ruin our trip in any way, but worth mentioning in order to better manage customer expectations in the future.
Thanks again for Axis Africa Expeditions, especially our guide Peter, for the unforgettable trip!
We went on 4-day safari trip with Axis. The experience was very relaxed and well organised. The transportation was fast and comfortable. Driver and tour guide Peter was incredible and went above and beyond to explore the wildlife. For the accommodations we went for the luxury package which ensures a 5 star experience for food and rooms. Highly recommended to book with Axis!
I regret to give him too much tips .I gave him 2000Kes . Later I ask several other teams other groups other friends they join other company’s safari team, they told me they gave their guides less tips ,they only gave there guides 1000 Kes every one person for three days safari ,but their guides lead them find much more animals ——They saw Five Majestic Beasts of the Maasai Mara Grassland . Although I already told him to give us chance and time to wait for the famous and precious crossing . At last at the afternoon he lead us to the sand river after we ask him go there but we saw nothing because the crossing finished already that time. He said several times it’s too far away to go to those crossing points of sand river to wait the crossing .
Dear Wilma, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are truly sorry to hear that your safari did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
July is indeed one of the peak months for the Great Migration in the Masai Mara, and many travelers hope to witness dramatic river crossings during this season. However, even during this p... Read moreeriod, wildlife sightings, including the iconic crossings, remain natural events, influenced by unpredictable animal behavior and environmental conditions. The crossing is not something that any Safari operator or guide can guarantee. While we understand your desire to witness this iconic moment, sightings vary greatly each day, and even with the best planning, nature follows its own course.
We also wish to highlight that for group joining safaris (like the one you had chosen), our guides do their best to balance the interests of all guests in the vehicle. This means that the guide needs to make choices that suit the whole group, including how much time is spent at each spot. For travelers with particular interests, such as spending extended time at potential crossing sites, we usually recommend a private safari for a more personalized experience and itinerary control.
Regarding tipping, this is an open gesture left entirely to the guest's judgment. We provide general guidance, but the final decision is always yours, and we are sorry to hear you later felt unsure about it.
We have taken note of your concerns about the guide and will follow up with our team accordingly to ensure every guest receives the best possible experience.
Thank you once again for choosing to travel with us, and we hope you will give us another opportunity in the future to deliver a more fulfilling experience.
I had an amazing trip with Axis safari tours and Dickson as our guide and driver.
I went mid July to spend my birthday weekend as a solo female traveller and had a short but sweet and super rewarding trip. Dickson was a great driver and guide, always super positive, friendly and humble, making sure we are all comfortable, despite the long hours and tiring journey. He’s also always in contact wi ... Axis tour was also super helpful - I reached out to multiple companies prior to choosing them but they were the most responsive and always provided very thorough answers making me feel ensured. I asked many many questions and they were always able to accommodate to different requests and answer professionally. They picked me up from the airport early morning, then brought me to find an ATM that works (the one in the airport doesn’t work for local currency, only works if you take usd), and also dropped me off on return, making it a very seamless and safe journey.
It turns out they group you with different companies on the same Jeep depending on which tour you choose, but the customer service / sales experience was the best from Axis which made it feel like a safe and smooth journey.
I am a female solo traveller and obviously concerned for many reasons. But even for the allocation of group they tried to group us with other solo travellers and it was a great match - there were 2 other female solo travellers onboard! I was given the opportunity to select my preferred accommodation (which is very important especially for the campsites if you go for the budget option) and they even offered me an upgraded option for 30usd/2 days extra which was a life changer compared to where the others were allocated. At least there was hot water (even though you need to run it for 10 minutes) and the place was very clean and workers there felt like family, super warm and welcoming. Everyone in my jeep group booked with different companies and even though we went with the budget option, they said they couldn’t choose their preferred accomodation, not even subject to availability.
Unfortunately, I was told the great migration had a very high chance to be witnessed in July (during the days I went given I booked only 1 week ahead) but we only caught the start of the migration where there were large groups of wild beasts on their way from Tanzania but the river crossing scene was completely empty… our guide told us the best time is more mid August. I also heard from different groups that went around those days that they had to wait in a spot for 2-3 hours to see the river crossing but we didn’t get to experience this at all - the river was completely empty of wild beasts and we were just brought to look at hippos and crocodiles from afar, in the location where we were meant to see the river crossing - so that was a bit disappointing. But anyhow, I’ve enjoyed my little long weekend getaway and my first ever safari experience!
We just got back from a 10-day safari across Kenya with Axis Africa, and it was an incredible experience. Rita helped us plan everything in advance and was super responsive and helpful.
