Maputo National Park Best Time To Visit

Maputo National Park is not solely a safari destination. Aside from wildlife viewing, the park is visited for its birdlife, beaches, fishing and snorkeling. The ideal time to visit depends on your main interests. July to October are best for land-based wildlife viewing. July to November is when migrate past. Late October to late March is when lay eggs on the beaches. Birding is best from November to April.


Best Time July to October (The bush is dry and animals are easy to find)
High Season Mid-December to mid-January (The park is busy during South Africa's school holidays)
Low Season None (The park never gets busy aside from South Africa's school holidays)
Best Weather April to September (It is cooler and it hardly ever rains)
Worst Weather January and February (Hot and wet)
