Amazing six day safari including visit to Victoria Falls
5/5

We went on a six day / five night safari with Mosu, camping wild for three nights and two at a lodge. First day at Moremi Xakanaxa, second at Moremi Khwai (North gate), third at Sawuti in Chobe then at a lodge in Kasani outside Chobe, finally visiting Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) for a day trip. Kazer (guide), Kilos (chef), Gorata and Niemond did an incredible job making our safari unforgettable and our stay comfortable.

We saw all kinds of wildlife (just to name a few: lions, hippos, buffalo, crocodiles, hyenas, mongoose, all kinds of eagles and antilopes) and enjoyed listening to Kazer's and Kilos' stories - they are so experienced! Victoria Falls was amazing as well, especially at this time of the year when the water is high - expect to get wet!

We recommend going for at least a six day trip or even longer if you're going for the first time like us, there is so much to see and learn. We also recommend the wild camping, with the crew working to make everything comfortable and Kilos' cooking it is like living in a top hotel, except that you're in the middle of the savannah.

Amazing experience. Amazing staff!!
5/5

Mosu Safais is the most professional and amazing safari company in the world. I traveled with my family and did a 12-day safari and I highly recommend it. Monsu staff is outstanding and professional. Our guide Teby was amazing, he knew everything about animals and took the time to answers all our questions and more importantly he respect the animals and knew how to interact with them. Thanks to his commitment and patience we saw all types of animals. Dandy was the best chef ever, he cooked amazing meals for us. All the meals were 5 starts (much better than any meal we had in restaurants or in at any hotel). Joe and Taparo, made the campsite our new cozy home, the tents where always clean and comfortable. They take care of us with love patience and happiness.
To sum up, if you want to have the best experience of your life choose mosu safari. You will never regret it. And you will never forget it.

Very organized, caring, and great communication.
5/5

We did the 2 day/1 night Mokoro excursion and could not be happier with it. The boat ride through the delta was beautiful and unique, but the game walks were probably even better. It’s great to be able to walk through wilderness so close to all the wildlife when we were so used to driving at this point in our trip. Scar was a great guide and had all the answers for our questions, whether they were about animals, travel, or Botswana in general. The food, amenities on the island, and other staff were also great. Absolutely would recommend.

Great local company to go on safari with!
5/5

We spent 10 days on safari with Mosu with 7 nights wild camping and 2 at a lodge at the end and had a truly amazing experience with them. Rather than talk about my trip in detail I'll tell you first about my selection process and how I came to choose Mosu.

There are many safari companies that advertise Botswana safaris but we had a few reasons why out of all these companies we chose Mosu. Firstly, like any frequent traveller we stopped by Trip Advisor almost immediately when we started our research and found that although a relatively new company on the scene they had received glowing comments from everyone who had left comments. In fact everyone had given 5 stars. On top of this we had decided that if we get down to a handful of tour companies that it must be a Botswanan owned and run company; we wanted to make sure our money was going into Botswanan pockets, not somewhere else. We also learned that Mosu was a relatively small company and that normally means they would go out of their way with regards service. One of the final things that encouraged us to go with Mosu was the ease of communication with regards tailoring what we wanted to do with their suggested itineraries. In the end we had created an itinerary that worked for us both, starting in Maun and finishing 10 days later in Kasane.

We had decided to do our safari just on our own i.e. no other tourists so it was just the two of us and the four Mosu staff with us. This gave us ample time to get to know the team very well and we got to like them very quickly.

As mentioned above the first 7 nights would be wild camping and although we're not impartial to a bit of luxury lodges too we decided to do this so that we could really feel at one with nature, to get real close to the animals and feel like we had done everything we could to truly experience this beautiful country. And we're so glad we did.

Our tour would start in the Okovango, then on through Moremi (Xakanaxa and Khwai), Savuti then the northern Chobe park by Kasane.

Over the course of our 10 days we would have some new experiences that we've never had before on other safaris in other countries. If you think national parks are alive in the daytime just wait until night time. The noises were just unreal. The low rumblings of elephants as they strolled round and through the camp, hyenas calling, lions roaring, frogs croaking, the birds, insects, it was just an attack on the senses from sunset through to sunrise. During the early hours you would hear loud elephant trumpeting and you could even feel the vibrations of lion roars through the ground.

Our guide, Kaiser, was a seasoned vet and an excellent driver too. He could spot things with his eyes we couldn't see with binoculars. One day he spotted a tree faaaar in the distance with vultures and knew there must be a kill around there somewhere which eventually led us to a black-maned male lion which I'd never seen before. He knew how to handle those aggressive Savuti elephants protecting their young and knew all the best places to see the animals. I have no idea how he could drive for so long all day, never hit a pothole AND see animals in the distance long before us. He was the best guide we've ever had.

Meal times were taken care by Kilos. He rustled up breakfast every morning and prepared lunch and the evening meal while we were on game drives so food was always ready when we came back to camp. A really nice guy with a good sense of humour and bearing in mind we were wild camping the safari was surprisingly really good and varied.

We moved around every couple of days which meant packing up, moving on and setting up camp again. This was done with the help of the two other helpers, who were Last and Nathaniel. Very helpful, very friendly and nice people.

The bush shower was a tall roofless tent with a big bag of hot water heated from the fire and the toilet was like a small tent and a sit-down seat over a hole, both of which worked very well in the wild.

By the end of the 10 days it was really sad saying goodbye to them and after our last drink together they each took it in turns to stand up and say their own little summary of our few days together which I thought was a very sweet gesture.

We enjoyed it so much that we are likely to come back next year and see some different parts of Botswana, but we will insist on having Kaiser, Kilos, Last and Nathaniel again as they were very much as important to us on this trip as the actual safari experience itself.

I would have no hesitation in highly recommending this company to help you tailor your Botswana safari. They were very professional, competitively priced, friendly and delivered the safari we had requested. The money went into Botswanan hands and ...... oh ... I forgot to say ... this country is absolutely stunning, don't miss it. But see it with Mosu.

Mosu Safari Tours (Botswana)
5/5

My family and I had the most amazing holiday with mosu Safari's in Botswana.
Oliver the owner of the company accommodated us for everything we wanted to do while in Botswana.
We spent 4 nights in campsite's (1 in Botswana and 3 in Zambia) and 8 nights wild camping.
We were very well looked after by Madumo, Killos and Simon. Kilos made the most amazing meals on the open fire every day. When I first arrived with my teenage daughters (without my husband) Madumo put us at our ease and we felt safe even at nights around the camp. My husband arrived 3 days later and Oliver looked after him until we met up with him.
By far the wild camping was the best, what an absolute experience to have. From hyphens walking around your tent at night to hearing hippos eating grass nearby as well as hearing elephants knocking down trees and getting wild dogs walking through your camp at dusk. By far sleeping out in the great outdoors within a wildlife park in Botswana is one of the best experiences in our lives.
This was Madumo's first guiding tours with Mosu Safari's, and his experience on the wildlife and his knowledge was exceptional and safety was Paramount.
We highly recommend both Botswana and Mosu Safaris.

Trustworthy and excellent quality
5/5

We just returned from a private mobile safari tour (2 persons) with Mosu Safari Tours visiting Nxai Pan National Park (2 N) and Moremi (Xakanaxa, 4N). We had previously booked with Mosu a multiday mokoro tour (see my review from 2023) and decided to book again with them. That was a great decision. The booking process with Kemy and the communication were excellent. Kemy responds very quickly and realized all our special requests (we were interested in specific campsites and wanted to also have a game drives with return to the camp on the days of leaving an area - instead of just 'game driving out', in addition we wanted to start our tour and meet the team at the Nxai Pan park entrance, because we came by rental car from the Tuli Block). The payment process was also easy, we used credit card payment.
The tour was just perfect. We had Tebby as guide and we really enjoyed his guiding but also his personality. The team further comprised George as cook and Croc as camp assistent. They worked well together and the atmosphere was always good in camp. With Tebby we shared stories during dinner and had funny meal times. At Nxai Pan the game viewing was in part a bit slow, but that was certainly not due to Tebby, because he really went on very long game drives with us to find animals. Even then, he showed us elephants drinking at a water hole at the sun set and other beautiful things. In Moremi we had fantastic sightings: lions, leopards and - lucky us - two cheetah brothers on the last morning game drive. Of course we also saw all the general game. Tebby was driving very carefully in the sand and through water and was also respectful of the animals.
The food was delicious and Croc cleaned up our tent and made up the stretchers every day. We were spoiled.
The equipment of Mosu is really new and in good shape: the Toyota Landcruisers are only a few years old and very well maintained. Also the camping equipment is excellent. We especially loved the ponchos that they provided because it was quite cold in the mornings. Against the cold we also got bushbabies in the evenings. When we asked for a long drop toilet instead of a chemical toilet for the second part of the tour, that was readily accommodated. Tebby also organized a boat tour for us in Moremi and negotiated a good price for that.
So we left were happy (and at the same time sad to leave) and certainly will book with Mosu again if we come back for a mobile or mokoro tour.

Easy to deal with
5/5

I had a fantastic tour of the Okavango Delta, we took a mokoro to our campsite and camped on an island in the delta for one night. We completed bush walks and saw hippos, a big eared fox and giraffe. A pride of 16 lions were nearby though we didn't stumble across them. The guides, polars and camp staff were fantastic. The only slight negative was the people I was on the trip with needed to leave early the next day so that cut our morning bush walk down to just 45 mins, but as a solo traveller I really struggled to get any tour operator to let me join a group so I'm grateful to have been able to glowing this tour.

3 day private tour for a solo 20 year old Vegetarian.
5/5

Fantastic 3 day tour with Mosu Safari's. I was travelling as a solo young adult so the budget was fairly tight, but Mosu safari offered the best value for my needs at a reasonable price.

All the staff were extremely friendly. George, Sadie, Steve and my Okavango guide "Double K" all made me feel incredibly welcomed, especially George who catered for all my vegetarian requirements. I had some of the best food I've ever eaten, especially at the campsite!

We left slightly early on the third day, as I wanted to include Elephant Havens as part of my tour which Mosu Safari's kindly agreed to take me as an excursion. Very pleasant and easy to deal with, I could not recommend a better safari Tour. I would also strongly recommend going for the "three day tour" as you could easily spend all week walking across the Delta - a truly magical place. Thank you Mosu!

Immersive safari experience in the Okavango Delta
5/5

We absolutely loved the experience in the Okavango Delta with Mosu Safari Tours! The communication, service, flexibility and professionalism of the company as well as guides were very helpful for our safari tour. You enter the delta in a Mokoro (canoo) and spend 2 nights in a comfortable campsite with a dedicated chef that prepared tasty meals for us! The camp is surrounded by many animals and it feels very immersive - we were able to spot giraffes on the second day right from our tent! Thank you for the memorable trip and we would recommend it to travellers visiting Botswana!

Nothing seems to be too much trouble!
5/5

Mosu Safari organised a private safari for three of us to the Okavango Delta and Moremi Reserve. This included a mokoro team led by Gideon in the Delta and a 4×4 team led by Tebogo in the Moremi. Gideon's knowledge of the Delta is incredile and our game walks with him were very special. Tebogo was determined to show us the best of Moremi and he found lions, cheetahs and a leopard for us - breathtaking. Camping in the wilderness is incredible and the teams looking after us, especially Dandy our cook, was brilliant. Dandy was able to prepare three excellent meals per day for us, some feat in the middle of a wilderness. The rest of the team including Thapelo, Croc were all so nice and helped make this the trip of a lifetime. Our experience of Mosu Safari has been perfect, starting with Kemi who put it all together and she could not have been more helpful. Strongly recommended!
