The Extra Mile isn’t just their slogan, it’s how Miranda and Roko made our journey truly unforgetta
Our journey through Tanzania with Miranda and Roko was, in one word, unforgettable. This was no standard safari, but a journey that allowed us to truly experience Tanzania: its breathtaking landscapes and wildlife, challenging hikes through the mountains, camping in the heart of the Serengeti, visiting local villages and markets, cycling through rice fields and banana plantations, and, above all, the many special encounters with the people.
'Go for the extra Mile' is their slogan. For us, throughout this journey, it proved to be much more than just a slogan.
Miranda and Roko created a journey that suited who we are and the way we wanted to discover Tanzania. Their knowledge of the country, its culture and its people, combined with their ability to understand what would suit us, made the whole experience very personal.
During our journey, Roko was our guide and constant travel companion. He took us to places and experiences we would never have discovered on our own and sometimes challenged us to literally go that extra mile: along narrow goat trails, across rocks and mountain slopes. At all times, we felt confident that we were in safe and experienced hands.
Miranda also remained closely involved throughout our journey. Together, they created a wonderful balance between adventure, nature, culture and personal encounters, while always leaving room to adapt to whatever came our way. It was precisely this personal involvement and flexibility that made the experience so special to us.
For anyone who wants not only to see Tanzania, but to truly experience it, and who is open to adventure, the unexpected and sometimes a little less comfort, Miranda and Roko are the right people to travel with.
We came to discover Tanzania, but returned home with so much more: wonderful memories, unforgettable stories and, above all, a deep appreciation for the country and its people.
Go for the extra Mile? Miranda and Roko didn’t just promise it, they truly delivered it.

THE experience
Where do we even begin? Our experience with Leopard Orchid was simply unforgettable. It is difficult to put into words what we experienced: truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Our guide Joshua, who accompanied us for six whole days, is one of the most friendly, kind and knowledgeable people you could ever meet. In fact, we now consider him a true rafiki (friend in Swahili), to the point that we are already daydreaming about our next trip with him.
His determination and patience allowed us to spot the Big Five — and even get incredibly close to them — as well as countless other animals. Some emotions simply cannot be explained; they have to be experienced.
There may even have been a little tear shed at the end of the safari. :)

Flexible, transparent, fair price, nature lovers and, of course.. they have the best cars!
Our trip with Wild Uganda had all that we wanted and was perfect. I'll talk about some important points that might be important for other travelers:
- Communications: The communication with them was easy and smooth, first via email and then via Whatsapp. They were always answering fast and happy to help to solve all our questions (we had a lot). We had to customize the "route" for us and there was no problem on that.
- Tour: After reading a lot of information on internet, the tour the they propose to you includes what, for us, is the most important to see in Uganda regarding wildlife and nature. We did a 9 days trip and it was enought to see all what we wanted to see.
- Lodges: The lodges where you will sleep if you choose the low-medium budget option are really good. We were abit worried of that and it was a surprise that in all of them the food was increidibly good, we had hot water for shower, potable water, big and confortable beds with mosquitos net. We even met an elefant in QE while we were having breakfast!
- Guide: Derrick! This is you :) In our case, we did the trip with Derrick. He speaks english perfectly and he was able to answer all our questions about the animals, trees, parks, Uganda culture, food, history, etc... (Sorry Derrick, I know we put you on trouble in some questions :) ).
Derrick was on time every day, with the car cleaned and cold water waiting for us every day.
- Value for Money: We wanted to try to do the trip private (we are a couple from Barcelona, Spain) but almost all the options where extremely expensive. This one had a fair price. Probablye there are more luxury options with luxury lodges but honestly, we wanted to visit Uganda for the wildlife, nature and culture, not to be in a pool all the day. That's why we think there was no better option than that. And we were not wrong! We couldn’t be happier with the option we chose.
And last but not least, the have the coolest cars of whole Uganda!

Great planning and organisation! Awesome Team :)
Damian, Frank, Jesse and James were amazing! We had such a great time on the safari and were taken care of incredibly well. The drivers kept us informed throughout the tour and were very helpful and friendly. The food and meals were excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I highly recommend it.

Big five with Jesse
Did the tour with jesse (the best!), damian and frank. we were able to see the big five! Jesse gave us a lot of Information and answered all of our questions! Our cook james always prepared delicious meals for us!

I can 100% recommend Damian, Frank and Jesse! They are great guides with a lot of knowledge which they shared with us. They explained a lot about wildlife, culture and Tansania in general and really made our stay amazing. The Cook James delivered excellent food everyday and also took care of our vegetarians.

Absolutely loved our safari experience. The itinerary was perfectly tailored to our available time and personal preferences, offering a great variety of safari experiences and excellent value for money. Communication throughout the planning process was prompt, professional, and very well organised.
A special thank you to our guide, Emmanuel Chamboa, who made the trip truly unforgettable. He was kind, respectful, patient, highly professional, and knowledgeable. During the safaris, he shared fascinating information about the wildlife while also giving us plenty of time to quietly appreciate the beauty of nature.
