Above expectations professionalism
We partnered with Soul of Madagascar for 22 days of adventure across the country with our family of four. A contact who had previously travelled with them and had a great experience recommended them to us, and we are incredibly grateful that he did.
Despite the challenges involved in coordinating and managing the logistics—especially because we wanted to visit non-touristic locations, or at least places that were less crowded—everything went incredibly smoothly. The whole team went above and beyond to support our needs and accommodate our wishes, helping us create a truly remarkable trip full of experiences and memories that will stay with us forever.
From the initial months of planning, defining the itinerary, and discussing our preferences and their recommendations, or dealing with flight changes till right through to the very last minute and our farewell at the airport, they were always there for us.
Theresia, Joushia, and the rest of the guides and drivers are amazing professionals, with a wealth of experience in the national parks, wildlife, food, routes, and local destinations. Most importantly, they always put our safety and wellbeing first, which gave us complete peace of mind throughout the trip.
We were particularly touched by some of the gestures that went far beyond what we expected. Theresia, the manager, once flew to the airport during a connecting flight from her hometown just to say hello and give us some presents. What an incredible gesture! And then there was the evening when Joushia and his colleague brought their guitars and improvised a concert while our teenage daughters sang along around a campfire, under an amazing sky full of stars. Those moments, among dozens of others, will stay with us forever.
I cannot recommend Soul of Madagascar highly enough. Thank you so much to the entire team for everything you did for us and for helping make this journey such an unforgettable experience.

Reliable Madagascar-based tour operator with excellent service and communication.
We booked a 20-day - Discovery East - West-South tour with Soul of Madagascar and travelled with our 8 years old son. The communication with Theresia was seamless, she made sure the itinary was personalized according to our needs. Our guides were Michael and Tahiry and our driver Manoa, they were all well-prepared and knowledgeable and made our trip unforgettable. They even made sure I had a birthday cake on my big day :). I would be happy to travel with them again, we had the perfect trip!

Great communications
We had very good driver Rivo and also Eric our guide was very good. Both of them spoke perfectly English they make sure all our need are taking care off. Theresia almost was communicated with us almost instantly. The accommodation was very nice. We would highly recommend this company

Amazing, well organised tour with friendly and knowledgable guides
We had a fantastic experience with Soul of Madagascar Tours. To start with, Theresia organised a great itinerary, starting in Antananarivo, before heading East to Andasibe, Palmarium, and ending in Sainte-Marie, with plenty of stops and excursions along the way. She also helped us with recommending changes to hotels and adjusting dates prior to our arrival and was quick to reply, and provided us with lots of information before our arrival.
While here, we had an amazing time with guide Mahefa and driver Rivo who made us feel very safe and welcome during the whole trip. Mahefa was a lot of fun and was a great guide when we arrived at different locations, but also en route would talk about local customs and point out lots of things along the way, and during the trip they really felt like friends not just guides. They handled all the organisation while we were here making it very relaxed for us, and also with Theresia seamlessly sorted out a change in an overnight stay to get a different ferry over to Sainte Marie. At the end we had Manoa as both a driver and a guide in Antananarivo, and we enjoyed a lovely day of exploring the city and the local beer and rum.
I would absolutely recommend Soul of Madagascar tours!!

Excellent and flexible organization with professional guides
We spent two perfectly organized weeks in Madagascar based on our previously given ideas. After a week of truly adventurous safari, we rested our fatigue on beautiful tropical islands. Our guides always looked after us, we felt safe despite the often wild and romantic environment. It was a fantastic adventure with professional help. The price/quality ratio of the accommodations was also appropriate. In short, we really enjoyed it and a thousand thanks to Soul of Madagascar Tours for everything!

Great choice!
Booking our tour in Madagascar with Soul of Madagascar was a great experience.
First of all, a shout out to Theresia. She answered all our emails promptly and was able to change the itinerary per our requests both beforehand and more last minute (as one of our flighta got cancelled). The itinerary she put together was great, with the highlights being Tsingy, Isalo and Ranamofana.
Secondly, we had great guides. Michael and driver Njato were young and enthusiastic. They were great, easy-going guys who loved showing us their native country. We had a blast. They told us so much more than a standard script. They were never invading our privacy (something we have felt in the past with other intensive, private tours).
Because we took a flight to Morondava, for four days we had the pleasure to travel with two different men: Gervo and driver Allen. These men were basically the older counterparts of our other guides which made this very fun. These people too were enthusiastic and friendly and made our tour better.
Then a shout out to some of the local guides, especially Patrick and Roxi, who were very knowledgeable about the (geographical) features of Madagascar and its wildlife. We also thought our local Tsingy guide should get a mention but we forgot his name.
Overall, the rooms were fine or great. Never really disappointing and sometimes exceeding expectations. We didn't have dinner included (some tours do give you the option to do that) but we were glad in the end because now we could just choose from the whole menu instead of a set menu. And Madagascar is very cheap, so it might be cheaper to choose your own food anyway instead of having it included.
In the end, locationwise it doesn't really matter which tour operator you book with, but Soul of Madagascar has top grade guides, fast response times, good prices and I promise you will have a good time choosing them to book your trip in Madagascar.
Well organised tour for our honeymoon:)
My partner and I highly recommend Soul of Madagascar. From the very beginning to the end of our trip, Theresia was very helpful and responsive to all our questions and requests during the planning process. We had to change our travel dates several times while requesting quotations, and she was always patient and accommodating.
Joushia was our guide for the first nine days of the tour, and he was exceptionally considerate and knowledgeable. He shared lots of information about Madagascar and introduced us to various local foods and dishes. We mentioned that we wanted to try mofogasy, and he thoughtfully remembered and surprised us by bringing freshly made, warm mofogasy for us to enjoy during sunrise at the baobabs. It was such a memorable experience. The logistics throughout the trip were also very well arranged. He communicated the daily itinerary clearly, and on days with lighter schedules and shorter travel times, he made sure we had enough time to relax and fully enjoy the surroundings. By the end of the trip, Joushia felt more like a friend of us than a guide! We would definitely recommend Joushia to other travellers.
Mahefa was our guide for the last two days, he was also helpful and introduced all local practices during the city tour. He also found the Koba, a local street food, for us to try. It tastes good~
This has truly been a wonderful honeymoon (a great adventure) for both of us!!
Once in a Lifetime
Soul of Madagascar planned the perfect trip for us, from the start Theresa answered promptly, created an itinerary where we could fit everything in we wanted to in 9 days and still have time to relax. Our guide Mamisoa in Kirindy could not have been kinder. She showed us Ave of Baobabs and made sure we got perfect sunset pictures. She let us spend extra time in Kirinidy Forest when the lemurs took an unexpected liking to us and were coming very close for pictures. In the west our guide Tahiry was a master at his job. He navigated our time constraints with our flights brilliantly, making sure we saw everything we wanted including lemur island, the indri call in the National park, and even made a surprise stop where we could see chameleons because he heard me say I loved them. He showed us the best places for shopping to get authentic vanilla and honey. We would not have had the same experience without Mamisoa and Tahiry! Our last stop was Nosy Be, filled with a pristine beaches, more lemurs, and a beautiful snorkeling spot. Our hotel here was our favorite, with incredible views, two pools and a delicious restaurant. Theresa was also great allowing us to fit in a last minute trip to lemur land in Nosy Be. Would 100% recommend this agency for all your Madagascar needs!
