How We Ensure Every Review Is Valuable and Trustworthy
Every review is analyzed by our proprietary algorithm to detect fraudulent and inappropriate content. We also have a review team that manually checks reviews when our system is not able to detect whether a review is genuine with full confidence. This ensures all reviews uphold our review standards:
Real Clients
Only reviews from real clients who have gone on a paid safari with the specific tour operator they are reviewing are published.
One Review
Only one review per person per tour operator is permitted.
No Edit Function
Tour operators cannot adjust or remove reviews (though they can reply to them).
Fraudulent Tour Operators
Tour operators caught engaging in review fraud will face a reprimand, which can lead to a temporary or permanent suspension of their SafariBookings listing.

Reviews are sometimes adjusted or removed if they contain:
- Inappropriate language
- Defamatory language
- Sensitive, personal information

FAQ – Trusted Safari Companies
Can anyone leave a review on SafariBookings?
Any person who has completed a safari with a tour operator listed on SafariBookings is welcome to leave a review for that tour operator, even if the tour was not booked through our platform.
Can reviews be hidden or deleted by tour operators?
No. Tour operators can only respond to published reviews. However, our review team may sometimes remove or adjust a review to ensure it meets our guidelines.
How do you ensure reviews are genuine?
We use a proprietary algorithm to perform a check on every review. Any suspicious cases are flagged for our expert review checkers, who then manually approve or decline them (sometimes after gathering more evidence). About 19% of reviews get declined for various reasons, including duplicate reviews, irrelevance, or illegitimacy.
Can operators pay clients for reviews?
No, this is strictly forbidden. While tour operators are free to encourage clients to leave a review after a tour, any transaction in exchange for a review is a violation of our policy. We ask you to please report any such activity to us if a tour operator has solicited this from you. You can contact us at reviews@safaribookings.com.
I’ve submitted a review, but I can't see it yet. What's going on?
We receive many reviews every day, so it can take a few days for yours to be approved. Most reviews are published within a week of submission.
Can I amend a submitted review?
Yes. If you would like to make any changes to your review, simply email us at reviews@safaribookings.com.
