The dry winter months, from May to September, are the best time for viewing wildlife. The grass is short in winter and the foliage thins, making it easier to see the animals. The period between June and August, however, can experience strong winds, causing animals to take cover.

High Season December (The park never gets busy, but school holidays might bring a few more visitors)

Low Season Any time aside from school holidays (The park is little visited)

Best Weather April-May and September-October (Mild weather and little rain)

Worst Weather June to August (Chilly mornings and nights and heavy winds)

May to September Dry Season – Winter

Best time for wildlife viewing since the foliage thins and the grass is shorter
Clear skies with little chance of rain
Warm clothing is required for game drives at night and in the early morning
Landscape is dry

October to April Wet Season – Summer

Lovely landscapes with lush scenery
Newborn animals can be spotted
The best time for birding with migratory birds present
Wildlife viewing is better during the Dry season
It gets hot and humid
