Wonderful, flexible, knowledgeable, Tanzanian-owned tour operator with respect for local communities
I can highly recommend Ifude tours for a Tanzanian-owned and operated tour company. I especially valued their use of local guides, their sensitivity to the community, and their flexibility in designing our itinerary.
Miraji is a very helpful and organised operator; he responded consistently to queries. He designed a schedule based on our specific requests – to see the Kitulo National Park, and to go on a long hike down to Lake Nyasa. He also proposed other visits on the drive back, and we did get to see (and swim in) an extraordinarily beautiful waterfall, and bat cave. Some of the itinerary was too ambitious for the short time we had available, and we would love to go back.
Our guide Japhari was a locally trained expert on the National Park, and especially knowledgeable about the flowers found there. He was great company, looked after us well and communicated clearly. I was very pleased that Japhari was accompanied on the hike by an even more local guide – a young man who lived in the area we walked through, and had been recommended by the local school headmaster. As we walked past a homestead, our group was alerted by the women who lived there, to the fact that our route was blocked by a recent landslip, and the advised us to go another way, which worked out well.
Our drive was another local man, Kelvin, who drove with skill and care on the steep off road sections. We stayed in comfortable hotels, and ate well, including lots of local and delicious fruits and avocados.
We had looked at other options before we chose Ifude, and Ifude was very reasonably priced. I would definitely use them again for any tour in Tanzania.

Fun, friendly, accommodating and genuine
Had a fantastic experience with these guys. Felt like a road trip with new friends. Accomodations were spot on, the team Miraji put together were charismatic, energetic, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, skilled and kind. I highly recommend.

Clear communication and reliable service
We contacted Miraji (head of Ifude Tours) many months in advance to start planning our six day safari trip. Communication was clear, honest and fast via mail and whatsapp. Itineraries are flexible and can be adjusted to your needs. We were timely informed about any changes to Tanzanian or Zanzibar regulations, guidelines for tipping, what to bring and other questions we had.
The day before the tour we met with Miraji and our driver/guide Samuel to quickly go over the program and discuss what to expect. The next morning, we left for our safari itinerary to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro NP. We stayed in comfortable mid-range lodges/luxury tents. The safari land cruiser was clean and well maintained. Samuel was knowledgeable, experienced and a safe driver. During the different game drives we saw pretty much every animal we could've wished for: the big five, cheetah, warthogs, giraffe, zebra, serval cat, antelopes, gazelles, many birds, hippo's, crocodiles, wildebeest crossing etc
Lunch was always delicious and the accommodation overall was good and clean, with friendly staff. Ifude Tours is a reliable local tour operator with good value for money.

Lovely experience
I went on a 6D5N safari with Ifude in July 2022. Besides Serengeti (1 night at Nyani campsite) and the gorgeous Ngorongoro Crater (2 nights at Simba campsite), we went to Empakaai crater and Lake Natron (2 nights at Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge).
I had a good time with driver-guide Saba, cook Stephano and Ifude boss Miraji. Saba was really experienced and skilled and this really showed when we were driving back to the campsites after dark on a couple of days. (Needless to say, he was also great at spotting hyenas, buffalos, lions, leopards, elephants, Thomson’s gazelles, greater and lesser flamingoes and other wildlife). Stephano whipped up hearty meals daily and I was amazed by how he (and all the other safari cooks) could keep meat and vegetables fresh for the duration of the safari using just a chiller box.
I was also struck by their little acts of kindness. Saba chats with all other safari drivers and they help one another out. He helped me clean my mud-caked shoes while I was at the Engaresero waterfall (Lake Natron). We met a French couple at Maasai Giraffe lodge who were cycling for 2.5 months in Tanzania and their food supplies were running low that morning. Stephano lent them his gas stove to boil some water/milk and later offered some pancakes and fruit without hesitation. Props to Miraji for putting a great team together, and thanks for the company!

Friendly, professional and knowledgable Safari Company that found the Big Five for us in 1,5 days!
Mussa, our driver and guide, was great - very friendly and I especially appreciated his rich knowledge about the history and people of the sites that we passed and visited. He could also tell us a lot about all animals we saw, and even took us to a "surprise" location to see lions up close. It felt very safe to travel with him and the car had excellent quality with a open roof top.

Superb service, the best guide you can have, we saw big five within a day and a half.
Ifude Tours & Safaris made my safari in Tanzania the best experience I ever had. I have been travelling a lot during the years and the service that Ifude Tours & Safaris provided was the best you can dream of. The Safari car was confortable, the guide was extremely competent. One example is that he spotted a leopard (one of big five) on a distance of 150 meters while drivning. The owner of the company provided extremely good service and the value for money was extremely good.
