Again- Another Great Safari experience with Nyumbu Beyond , Living and Leticia - this time in Rwanda
I’ve just completed my second safari with Nyumbu Beyond: this time in Rwanda—an 11-day/10-night trip to see gorillas, golden monkeys, and chimpanzees—following my safari in Uganda a year ago.
I booked with Nyumbu Beyond again without hesitation, based on my positive experience in Uganda—and once again, Living and the team, this time including Leticia, did a phenomenal job.
Excellent planning and structuring of the trip according to my wishes, great suggestions, and a lot of passion in the execution. It was like returning to friends.
The attention to detail—that’s what makes the difference—and here again: 10 out of 10 points.

Getting to experience 3 East Africa countries at once was a dream come true - “Burundi, Rwanda & Uganda”. An amazing journey.
We did a 15 day tailor made journey through Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda created together with Nyumbu Journeys with some of our bucket list must do experiences and great tips from Living at Nyumbu. And the itinerary created was much better than we could have done ourselves. Communication was swift, very professional and solutions oriented both before and during our journey. The service provide by our guides and drivers was beyond expected, personal yet very professional and we had a lot of fun together for two weeks. Burundi was a bit of the beaten track but did not disappoint. Lots of thing to see and do and some very interesting meetings. Rwanda provides a solid tourist experience with both history and nature. The big surprise was Uganda where we had a really great time. Beautiful nature, friendly people, so much to see, do and experience.
This is not a tour we, even though we are seasoned travellers, could have created and gone through with ourselves. But Nyumbu Journeys made it possible and for that we are ever greatful.

Amazing bunch of young men!
Living and Adam were both excellent guides. They knew all the roads very well, where to stop for great food. I was part of a group of 4 people and we never stopped laughing for the few days we were with them.
If you’re worried about the rainy season in mid to late October, don’t worry. It would rain maybe an hour at most in the late afternoon and clear up.

More than a journey!
My small group of 4 started in Washington DC and traveled to Kigali, where we met our NBJ guides for the gorilla trek in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Our trip included travel from Kigali to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Center, a beautiful mountain lodge, the gorilla trek, a tour of a Pygmy village, an island cottage, and the Rwanda Genocide Memorial. All of this in just three days. The guides took care of every important detail - lodging, transportation, food, water, fun, and learning. They even organized a birthday celebration at our lodge. I highly recommend Nyumbu Beyond Journeys for any African experience!

Fun, bespoke trip which included everything we want for our dream holiday.
We had the best experiences with Nyumbu Beyond Journeys. They tailored the trip to include everything we wanted. We were 3 women (40 years old) looking to go gorilla trekking. The amazing guides (Living and Adam) met us at the airport at 2:00am and took us to our accommodation. They made sure before travelled we had a clear packing list and expectation of the trip. Everything was well planned and detailed oriented. The Gorilla Leisure Lodge we stayed in near the gorilla trekking was excellent with a chef that prepared wonderful meals for individual needs. After the trek they prepared a surprise picnic. They were knowledgable and helped us have our dream vacation. We will use this company again and recommend it to friends.

We started our 3-day tour with a pickup at the airport in Kigali, and from that moment on, everything ran smoothly thanks to Nyumbu Beyond Journeys. The team was extremely professional and welcoming — our guide Living and driver Adam made us feel comfortable, informed, and cared for throughout the trip.
Crossing into Uganda was effortless with their support, and all the logistics (permits, accommodations, meals, etc.) were handled flawlessly. The gorilla trekking itself was absolutely surreal — being so close to these incredible animals in the wild is something I’ll never forget.
