Excellent Value for Money
I booked this safari because it fit my budget, but the quality was far beyond what I expected. The guide was experienced, friendly, and clearly passionate about Tanzania’s wildlife and nature. We saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, and many birds in beautiful parks with breathtaking scenery. The safari vehicle was clean and comfortable, and the guide always chose excellent viewing positions for photographs. The camping equipment was well maintained, and the staff worked hard to make everyone comfortable throughout the trip. Meals were fresh, tasty, and served on time every day. What impressed me most was the professional organization and attention to detail despite the affordable price. Africa Joy Tours proved that a budget safari can still feel special, enjoyable, and memorable in every way.

Disappointing safari – unprofessional guide, poor vehicle and inadequate complaint handling
We booked a private safari with Africa Joy Tours. Although the wildlife was amazing and our accommodation was excellent, our experience with Africa Joy Tours was very disappointing.
Unprofessional guide – our biggest complaint
Our driver was skilled at spotting wildlife and navigating difficult roads, but he was certainly not the professional safari guide we were promised.
He provided almost no information about the animals, parks or surroundings. Even basic questions were often left unanswered. Communication was poor, and his attitude was frequently impatient, dismissive and sometimes outright rude. We repeatedly felt disrespected.
We tried addressing these issues directly with him, but this did not lead to any meaningful improvement.
Poorly maintained vehicle
The safari vehicle was extremely old, worn out and in noticeably worse condition than other safari vehicles we encountered.
We experienced multiple mechanical and electrical problems, including flat tyres, malfunctioning windscreen wipers, doors that could not be opened properly and other defects affecting comfort and safety.
Several problems existed from the start and continued even after we reported them.
Disappointing complaint handling
We contacted Africa Joy Tours during the safari. They apologized and offered complimentary drinks, but the problems continued.
Afterwards, Africa Joy Tours acknowledged that both the vehicle and guide had been below the expected standard. They offered $100 in compensation, which we considered inadequate given the extent of the problems and the cost of a private safari.
When we requested more appropriate compensation, they explained that their profit margin was too small to offer anything further.
We found this particularly disappointing. A company’s profit margin should not be the customer’s responsibility when the promised service has not been delivered.
Conclusion
Despite the incredible wildlife and excellent accommodation, Africa Joy Tours failed to deliver the professional safari experience we had booked.
We expected a knowledgeable, respectful guide and a properly maintained vehicle. Unfortunately, neither was provided.
Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Africa Joy Tours and would not book with them again.

Excellent Safari for First-Time Visitors
This was my first safari in Africa, and I could not have chosen a better company. The communication before the trip was clear, and everything was organized perfectly after our arrival.
We saw lions, zebras, elephants, and many birds, and the guide always found great places to stop for wildlife viewing. I never felt rushed during the game drives. The accommodation exceeded my expectations, especially considering the reasonable price of the tour. Meals were delicious, and the staff were genuinely kind and helpful.
Africa Joy Tours made me feel safe and well cared for throughout the journey. I would happily recommend them to anyone planning their first Tanzanian safari.

Incredible Serengeti Adventure
Nothing could have prepared me for the beauty of Serengeti. The endless plains, dramatic skies, and abundance of wildlife created one of the most breathtaking travel experiences of my life. Our guide was outstanding and worked tirelessly to find the best wildlife sightings each day. We were lucky enough to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and even a cheetah resting in the distance. The safari vehicle was comfortable, and we always had excellent views for photography. The campsite was clean and well organized, and the staff prepared fresh and tasty meals every evening. I loved the peaceful atmosphere after sunset and the chance to hear the sounds of the African bush. Africa Joy Tours delivered an unforgettable Serengeti adventure that I will remember forever.

Best Safari Decision We Made
Choosing Africa Joy Tours was the best decision of our Tanzania trip. From the airport pickup onward, the team was punctual, friendly, and genuinely interested in making our safari comfortable and memorable.
The safari itself was outstanding and far better than we expected. We visited beautiful parks filled with wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and many colorful birds. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and explained animal behavior, local culture, and conservation in an engaging way. The vehicle was comfortable, the picnic lunches were fresh and well prepared, and the accommodation was clean and relaxing after long game drives. Every activity started on time, and the organization throughout the journey felt smooth, professional, and completely stress free.
The spectacular wildlife sightings and warm hospitality made every day exciting, relaxing, and truly unforgettable for our entire group.

Every Moment Was Enjoyable
Our safari with Africa Joy Tours was wonderful from beginning to end. The guide was friendly, punctual, and always happy to explain the wildlife we encountered during the game drives. Tarangire was filled with elephants and giraffes, and I loved watching them move through the beautiful landscape. The vehicle was comfortable, and we had plenty of opportunities for photos.

A Safari I Will Never Forget
Some trips are enjoyable, but this safari was truly unforgettable. Seeing the endless Serengeti plains filled with wildlife was a dream come true, and every game drive brought a new surprise. Our guide was patient, enthusiastic, and excellent at finding animals that we would never have noticed on our own. One of my favorite moments was watching a pride of lions resting in golden grass while the sun was setting. The campsites were surprisingly comfortable, and the evenings around the campfire created a wonderful atmosphere. The food was fresh, plentiful, and much better than I expected for a camping safari. Everything was organized smoothly, and I never had to worry about logistics. Africa Joy Tours created an authentic African adventure that exceeded all my expectations.

Perfect Introduction to Tanzania
