The entire trip into the remote area of Damaraland on horses over 450kms from the interior to
The Atlantic was wonderful. The team all worked beautifully together to tend to all our needs at all times. The food was excellent and we are planning another foray into Namibia with NHSC.

For the third time with NHS, I enjoyed every moment and will plan to go back as often as I can!

From the moment I started to plan my (trips), Helen was helpful and available for assistance at all times. She has infinite patience for sorting through details. The whole time with the crew, each person makes every guest feel as if they are the most valuable one in the group, treating everyone with care and compassion. Throughout the ride, during challenging conditions and uncomfortable situations, Andrew and his team handle everything smoothly with unflaggingly, gentle humour. The care of the horses is excellent. It is comforting to me to know that their wellbeing is of primary consideration in difficult conditions. Each ride is different both in level of challenge and terrain. I've enjoyed all three very much and when asked could not choose a favourite. When asked to describe my experiences with NHS, I have difficulty articulating the scope of the experience. The time I have spent with these people and horses in this magnificent landscape have been the finest times in my life.

An immersive, incredible experience
5/5

The crew- Andrew and his team are so hardworking and professional, and yet know how to have fun. A wonderful combination!
The horses- you'll fall in love with them. Each horse was well-matched to his/her rider and by the end of the trip strong bonds were formed. I didn't want to get off Polka in the end.
And lastly.. the landscape! You'll go through beautiful places that few have ever seen and see stars like never before.
This trip has been on my bucket-list for years, and it's easy to see why so many guests have returned over and over.

Unique, off the beaten track and staggeringly beautiful

I work for a UK tour operator and have been on most of the riding safaris in Africa. This Damaraland Elephant Safari stood out as one of the highlights of any trip I've been on in the last 11 years of working in the industry. The team looking after us were superb, Andrew our guide was excellent and the horses were responsive and good fun to ride. We didn't see a lot of wildlife (although that's not what you come for), but the scenery is stunning. So diverse and changed dramatically everyday. Another particular highlight was sleeping under the stars every night - watching shooting stars and gazing at the full moon from bed is unforgettable.

A definite " bucket lister" but do it long before you are about to kick it- fabulous and physical

The logistics and organization needed for this amazing ride across remote Damaraland to the Skeleton Coast boggles the mind -but Andrew and his team make it look effortless . Every detail is thought of for the comfort of horse and rider. Fun, fellowship, good food and those incredible long gallops across extraordinary landscapes- nothing more needed to make this an experience of a lifetime.

An adventure across Damaraland
5/5

I can't recommend Namibia Horse Safari Company highly enough. The ride was a breathtaking adventure across the remote and largely uninhabited Damaraland region of Namibia. The ride was perfectly coordinated so the back up vehicles were always waiting for us at lunch and the end of the day. The horses are incredible and the scenery is spectacular. The food is fantastic and it is quite incredible what the staff were able to produce with the limited facilities available to them. A must do ride!

I am a repeting guest rider with Namibia Horse Safari Company for many years now and they just do an excellent job. They are very experienced in organizing those safaris and they love and treat their horses respectively. The landscape is just stunning and so different from one place to the other.

"The greatest happiness on earth is sitting in a saddle of a horse"
5/5

I spent the second time on a ten day horse trail with the Namibia Horse Safari Company and once again - it was fantastic.
To experience such fascinating landscapes on a horseback is pure happiness, like the German expression
"the greatest happiness on earth is sitting in a saddle of a horse" ( Das größte Glück der Erde ist auf dem Rücken der Pferde).
It is just fun with the well-trained, balanced and well-kept horses to go on a super organized trail, where no wishes remain open.
To see the amazing sunset while sitting at a camp fire with nice people and sleeping on a field bed under the stars made this trip an unforgettable experience.
You will want to go there again. :-)

We have shared a wonderful week with a highly skilled and experienced team. The horses are well trained and adapted to their environment. The logistics, the service, the living conditions and the team support were highly appreciated. We recommend this trail to all riders seeking for unforgettable holidays in Namibia
