Paul started globetrotting early in life when he went to work for a major airline straight after school. With visits to most of the continents under his belt, he has been travelling around Southern Africa for more than 30 years and throughout the past decade he and his wife have spent much of the time driving and camping extensively around the whole region. During that period they did two long stints acting as relief managers for a well-known safari camp.
His interest in wildlife has been the main motivating factor in his travels and he is a trustee of wildlife trusts in Zimbabwe and UK which allows him to give a little something back to the natural world that has given him so much pleasure for so long.
In 2007 Paul was invited by Bradt Travel Guides, a leading UK publisher, to write their guide to Zimbabwe and this was published in May 2010. It is currently the most comprehensive and up-to-date guide to the country available. As well as updating the book on an ongoing basis he writes for several travel related publications and is closely involved in the promotion of tourism in Zimbabwe.
Although a born and bred Brit he has now become a bit of a nomad spending most of the year shuttling between homes in Zimbabwe and South Africa with occasional returns to UK when duty calls.
