A definite " bucket lister" but do it long before you are about to kick it- fabulous and physical

The logistics and organization needed for this amazing ride across remote Damaraland to the Skeleton Coast boggles the mind -but Andrew and his team make it look effortless . Every detail is thought of for the comfort of horse and rider. Fun, fellowship, good food and those incredible long gallops across extraordinary landscapes- nothing more needed to make this an experience of a lifetime.

Unique, off the beaten track and staggeringly beautiful
5/5

I work for a UK tour operator and have been on most of the riding safaris in Africa. This Damaraland Elephant Safari stood out as one of the highlights of any trip I've been on in the last 11 years of working in the industry. The team looking after us were superb, Andrew our guide was excellent and the horses were responsive and good fun to ride. We didn't see a lot of wildlife (although that's not what you come for), but the scenery is stunning. So diverse and changed dramatically everyday. Another particular highlight was sleeping under the stars every night - watching shooting stars and gazing at the full moon from bed is unforgettable.

An immersive, incredible experience
5/5

The crew- Andrew and his team are so hardworking and professional, and yet know how to have fun. A wonderful combination!
The horses- you'll fall in love with them. Each horse was well-matched to his/her rider and by the end of the trip strong bonds were formed. I didn't want to get off Polka in the end.
And lastly.. the landscape! You'll go through beautiful places that few have ever seen and see stars like never before.
This trip has been on my bucket-list for years, and it's easy to see why so many guests have returned over and over.

For the third time with NHS, I enjoyed every moment and will plan to go back as often as I can!

From the moment I started to plan my (trips), Helen was helpful and available for assistance at all times. She has infinite patience for sorting through details. The whole time with the crew, each person makes every guest feel as if they are the most valuable one in the group, treating everyone with care and compassion. Throughout the ride, during challenging conditions and uncomfortable situations, Andrew and his team handle everything smoothly with unflaggingly, gentle humour. The care of the horses is excellent. It is comforting to me to know that their wellbeing is of primary consideration in difficult conditions. Each ride is different both in level of challenge and terrain. I've enjoyed all three very much and when asked could not choose a favourite. When asked to describe my experiences with NHS, I have difficulty articulating the scope of the experience. The time I have spent with these people and horses in this magnificent landscape have been the finest times in my life.

The entire trip into the remote area of Damaraland on horses over 450kms from the interior to
The Atlantic was wonderful. The team all worked beautifully together to tend to all our needs at all times. The food was excellent and we are planning another foray into Namibia with NHSC.

If you are looking for something a bit different and up for a small challenge try doing the Namib desert challenge ride. Great horses and a great guide in Andrew who quietly just lets you get on with it, thanks Guys (oh and great dinners from Phoebe too!!!).

A Ride to Remember, a Landscape to Preserve
5/5

A wonderful experience, 10 days in and across the desert, thanks to some breath-taking scenery, some remarkable leadership and logistics, assisted by some truly giving horses. The riding surpassed my expectations; so did the food! I am grateful for having had the opportunity to explore Nature in such a a raw and beautiful way.

This was a real challenge. It more than lived up to my expectations. It was the best ride I have ever done (and I have done quite a few)! I loved the wilderness and the desert scenery. Camping was good fun. Sleeping under the stars was a great experience! My horse was a dream to ride. The team who looked after us was excellent, hardworking, charming and efficient. I hope to return for another great adventure in Namibia!

Judge a man by the team he leads
5/5

Andrews's team is first class. He has put together discrete, superbly capable people and combined them into an excellent team. The horses are phenominal: fit, desert-adapted and ever so willing. The entire safari was outstanding.
