Uhuru Travel exceeded all of my expectations for this tour!!
5/5

I worked extensively with Margaret to coordinate the perfect Tanzanian vacation for my family. We tailored the tour to our exact needs and everything went off flawlessly! My kids said that two of the hotels were the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. The African Tulip was beautiful and the staff was very attentive and couldn't have been nicer! At the Acacia Farm Lodge, we were greeted by the staff singing a song to welcome us to the property. The rooms are spread out around the grounds. We were a family of five, so we had a two unit villa that was fantastic and our windows looked out at the coffee plants. The property is a working coffee plantation and farm.
Nicholas, our safari guide, was fantastic with 24 years of experience! He found so many animals and made sure that we were always well positioned for animal viewing.
Margaret (Uhuru Travel) was fantastic in coordinating our tour with special requests like squeezing in a trip to Olduvai Gorge, visiting a Tanzanian school for my wife (a Ph.D student and a teacher), and a sunrise balloon tour in the Serengeti. We concluded our stay in Zanzibar, with the safari blue snorkeling tour, two nights in Stone Town and then two nights in Nungwi. What a fantastic trip! At every arrival and departure, a representative from Uhuru Travel met us to introduce us to our guides and ensure that everything was as scheduled and ready to go. I highly recommend Uhuru Travel for your safari/tour needs! You won't be disappointed.

Memorable 14 days Safari
5/5

I rated our experience with Uhuru Travel 5 star, despite we had a small issue. The safari was amazing, we had memorable 14 days in Africa National Parks.

I chose Uhuru Travel was because they had the itinerary which suited us the best, and good value. Also most of their reviews were positive.

The communication with Mr. Abdallah R. A. was excellent, the information from him was prompt and helpful, our itinerary was amended to suit our requirement.

We had two very experienced drivers, Silas in Kenya and Zablon in Tanzania. They took us to see all the animals that we wanted to see, and they always stopped at the perfect spots for viewing.

We went through Kenya and Tanzania border twice, we were very impressed with the drivers handovers, it was quick and hassle free for us.

Our vehicles both in Kenya and Tanzania were old, but they didn’t affect the quality of the safaris.

Our accommodation were mid-ranged loges and tent, they all had beautiful ground, and good food. But some lodges’ cleanness standard were different from western standard. But I think they were still very good considering the water quality there.

Although we had a small issue about drinking water supply from Uhuru Travel’s operation Manager Mr. Loy in Arusha. Mr. Abdallah R. A. tried very hard to rectify the issue even after our trip. We were very impressed.

Hope this is helpful for fellow travellers.

Fantastic African Safari and Beach Holiday
5/5

To begin with Uhuru Travel communicated promptly and helped us plan our safari and beach holiday in Tanzania. Uhuru Travel was always on time to help us make our connecting flights and provided transport within Tanzania that wasn't part of our safari. We absolutely loved our Safari! We saw so many animals, more than I expected , and close up. Our safari driver, Zablon, was excellent at spotting animals and informative. He also has a nice personality, calm disposition and good sense of humor. We did have a few issues along the way, such as the Land Cruiser didn't want to start for the first couple days. Zablon, usually left it running or if we part on a hill he could pop the clutch and it would start. Our 2-way radio was only a one way. I had to use my credit card to get into a couple of the parks because the pin number didn't work on Uhuru's card. I was reimbursed but wasn't sure I would be at the time. Also the itinerary I was sent didn't match the timeline of our trip. As a result our lodging in the Serengeti wasn't planning for our overnight stay, but once again our driver came through and we were allowed to stay. Even with all of this we still feel we had an awesome experience, these were minor issues and everything turned out for the best. Our beach time on Zanzibar was excellent! Uhuru Travel is an honest company and I would travel with them again.

3-Day Last Minute Fly in Safari from Zanzibar to Ngorongoro Crater
4/5

The safari itself gives a very good opportunity to quickly experience three different Africa, all three parks are bit different in their settings and we managed to see all big animals, lions and lots of elephants. Spending the first night in safari tented lodge was also very exciting as, we spotted lions resting some 50meters from the camp and there is no fence around it.. The third day flight back could have been later, so we could have spent a little bit more time in Menyara NP, we started the day at 5:30am, to spend at least 2 hours in the park and get on time to the flight.
The driver was very pleasant and adapted to all our needs. The experience overall was very positive, they were resposive and followed up on everything.

Uhuru Travel & Tours is a trustable company!
5/5

The communication was very good from the start. The driver, Issa Abdallah, picked us up at the hotel in Dar-es-salaam at the exact time agreed upon. Sunday Dec 4th 2016 we started our adventure! A 3-day safari tour to Mikumi spending two nights at Stanley's Kopje. The trip from Dar till Mikumi took 6 hours and the safari started once we were inside the park. In the evening we had an exellent dinner and had an early night. The lions were there...and the hyenas, they woke me up in the middle of the night while my husband went on snoring!

Kenya-several parts of Tanzania-including Zanzibar WOW! Always on the go but worth it.
5/5

First, the communication with Abdallah was key! He always got back to me and always eased my mind! We had 4 different drivers since we were in four different areas. The Masai Mara in Kenya. This is were we chose to go to one of the many Masai Villages that exist in Kenya and in Tanzania. This was very informative but also helpful to the village monetarily. Yes, we made sure we didn't buy a bunch of carvings or jewelry before hand so that we could buy it from the Masai Village we visited :) We then drove to the Tanzanian Border. From there we spent time in Tent Camps in the Serengeti which is a must. This really gives you the true flavor of the Safari because every other place you stay in will probably be in a lodge of sorts. While you are in the Serengeti, I strongly suggest that you do the Serengeti Balloon Safari. It is a bit of cost but worth every penny. Champagne and Breakfast on the open grasslands after the balloons land. They even have Loos with views (so there are toilets!) Something you will always remember! We then drove to Ngorongoro which is where the Crater lives. This would be one of the only places that you can still find a Rhino. We did see a Rhino but he was very far away and sleeping but we still tell everyone we saw the BIG 5 :) From there we drove to Lake Manyara and the to Tarangire. We flew from Arusha to Dar Es Salaam to go to the Selous Park. All the parks we visited had different scenery and animals but what is important about Selous is that they still allow Game Hunting in parts of the Park (not the part you will be in if you are only shooting animals with your camera). They allow Game Hunting for the revenue but if this continues they will kill off their revenue so when you go to this park on safari to look at the animals instead of killing them you are helping to end the killing by paying not to kill. So spread the word! Selous is cool because you can go off the driving trail to find what you want, unlike the other parks! But, make no mistake, we had seen every animal there was to offer in multiples before we ever got to Selous. If you go to Selous, I strongly suggest that you fly into Selous as apposed to flying into Dar es Salaam and the driving to Selous Park. At least one way. In fact, if you can afford it, I would drive in and fly out of as many places as you can. Other wise there is a lot of driving and it is all very bumpy roads. We did over 3000 miles and it wears on you. You should at least try and drive one way so you can see the culture. We ended our trip in Beautiful Zanzibar. Some people start their trip here but I would suggest ending it here. Because even thought the Safari thing is just wonderful, you need to relax and Zanzibar is the perfect place to do it!!! We did a Safari Blue boat trip, where you snorkel and eat good food. This was memorable! I would say another must do :) In the end, everyone of our drivers and guides were extremely nice, calm and on time. It was a fabulous trip!!!

Great local tour operator - Excellent experience with guide Mr. Abraham
5/5

Great experience to book Safari. Communication with Abdullah through whatsapp to make the changes to hotels, places to visit, etc to design the safari that we wanted for our family (two adults and three kids). No problem with payment.
It was a 9 day safari through the north of the country (tarangire, Arusha, manyara, ngorongoro, Serengeti). Hotels were great. Highly recommend Acacia Farm lodge in Karatu and Serengeti Acacia tented Camp. Everything was as expected and better.
The guide/ driver was very nice with our family. Excellent driver (though the road is tough, he made everything easy) and knowledgeable about nature and animals. We saw all the big five and had beautiful encounters with leopards, cheetahs, lions,... Abraham was very kind with the kids and helpful.
Car somewhat old (Toyota land cruiser), but was ok and had no problem through our journey. Also you should provide a uniform to guides/drivers.

Thanks for nice feedback and nice reviews. I am just want to correct one thing, from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park its about 310.00 kilometers and minimum time normally its up to 4 hours with safari Jeep. But if you drive slowly then you can take maximum 5 hours. It can not take 7 hours! unless you stop many times on the way purposely and you choose to drive leisurely.

Our Tour guide Nestor was very friendly and knowledgable.
4/5

The Safari was great and we had the best tour guide ever. We saw thousands of animals and our guide Nestor always tried to find the best spots to look for new ones.

The lodge where we stayed for the 2 nights (Tan Swiss Lodge) was not nice. Horrible rooms and most horrible food.

For a lifetime
5/5

We started our tour with a wonderful flight from Zanzibar to Kilimanjaro-Airport/Tanzania. Everything was perfectly organized, the driver, the good hotel in Arusha and next morning the 4by4 car with the very professional driver and guide Abraham and his new colleague Tobi, a volunteer. There were so many things to see and to hear, especially the very good explanations of our guides. They knew everything about politics, economy, botanic, animals, natives. And the Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, Lake Natron. We saw all the animals we wanted to see, we slept in cozy tents and hotels, had good food and very special surprises like a bath in a waterfall in Maasai country.

All in all it was simply perfect. The very best driver. We felt very safe. The very best schedule by the Uhurus. An adventure for a lifetime. We plan now to go back next year and to use the help of Abdallah and his Uhuru-Team again, the firendly Mr. Abraham, Mr. Loy etc.

Thank you very very much!
