Awesome first safari experience
5/5

In Africa in general, I think it's important to be flexible in order to enjoy yourself. Initially, me and my friend where scheduled to leave for the safari around 8:30AM. Therefore, I had planned to meet her an hour earlier that morning since I was coming back from trekking the Kilimanjaro and she had just arrived from home. Unfortunately, the evening before the safari started, my friend was told that we would be leaving 2 hours earlier than expected. Best day arranged transportation for me on the spot all the way from Moshi to Arusha free of charge so I wouldn't have to stress out about it or leave my lodge at 3AM to make it in time.
The Safari was great. We were paired with an awesome driver who's been doing this for 12 years. He was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. I realized that with safari, there's a great deal of luck involved and fortunately one of us in that group clearly had Irish ancestry because we got to see many cool things. A Serval cat in Serengeti, a freaking Honey Badger fighting two jackals in Ngorongoro, even two lionesses hunting warthogs in Tarangire, right at the very end of our trip when we were heading to the gate. The complimentary accommodation options in Karatu and Arusha were "meh" but the one in Serengeti which is actually owned by the same company was EXCELLENT! I feel that Best Day offers the reliability of a big company and the personal service of a small one and I will be recommending it to my friends visiting Tanzania.

Fantastic Safari with a Talented, Enthusiastic, Committed Team
5/5

BestDay Safaris provided an amazing experience to our group. Accommodations and vehicle were excellent. They provided helpful information and were responsive prior to our arrival. We especially loved the tented camp. Beyond that, our guide Jackson was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly good at his job. He would notice animals (such as a Serval Cat) that we hadn't even considered or seen and get us right up close to see them! Throughout parts of our trip, we noticed that other safari guides would try to follow him, which is quite an endorsement of his skill. We were able to see a tremendous array of animals. Driving through the great migration was definitely a trip highlight, and we appreciated that BestDay gives its guides the discretion/flexibility to get trips like this done as they come up.

We were called back to the U.S. suddenly during this trip. This was disappointing, as we did not get to spend a day at Ngorongoro Crater. Jackson and Peter were very accommodating and got us back to the Kilimanjaro international airport as quickly as possible. Because we couldn't drive back fast enough to make the appropriate flight, Peter drove from Arusha to the JRO airport to purchase us tickets on a plane out of the Serengeti and make this happen. He was able to get us a deal on these tickets and, when the price was lower than expected, he let us know so we didn't overpay.

This company demonstrated knowledge, integrity, resourcefulness, and excellence throughout the entire experience. We cannot thank them enough.

Incredible Safari Experience With Best Day Safaris!
5/5

I just completed my 5 day northern Tanzania Safari today, and it was incredible!. I booked via Mohji Travel, who in turn booked me on local operator; Best Day Safaris. Both Mohji and Best Day were excellent! Mohji handled the booking and scheduling smoothly, plus met me at my hotel the day prior to setting out, to give me a 1-on-1 full briefing which didn't just include a review of the 5 day itinerary, but also a review of my packing/gear, and tips on what colours to avoid wearing, to avoid Zhetzy flies! (Note: avoid blues and blacks!). The actual safari itself was incredible. Though i was a single traveller, I joined a fun group of three others and had a great time! Best Day are seasoned operators and they properly know their stuff. Every detail, every meal, and every day was planned well. Our guide/driver, Sixxy, had years of experience in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tangerie, and Lake Manyara. He knew where to spot the animals and what times of day/conditions you would most likely find them in. He was so good with his behavioural knowledge of lions that when we came upon a male and a female on the first day in the Serengeti, he knew to drive on the other road (where all the other operators/trucks were NOT going) because he knew we'd get a far closer and better view of the beautiful male lion, from that point. It completely made my day, to get so close! On day #3 we also got so close to a family oylf elephants that we could see deep into their eyes when they looked our way. Sixxy, and our chef Emmanuel provided for everything we needed, and Emmanuel's meals were inventive and filling, giving us enough energy for every day's animal spotting! We saw so many animals it was hard to believe - including lions rhinos elephants leopard baboons verver-monkeys ostriches hippos and too many more to name here. I would recommend Big Day Safaris and Mohji to anyone who wants an experienced, thorough, and great value Safari in Northern Tanzania.

Amazing safari with breathtaking experiences
5/5

My mother (65yrs!) And I have just finished our 5 day safari with BestDay and it was absolutely incredible. It exceeded all of our expectations. Our amazing guide, Jackson, went the extra mile to make sure we had the best experience. We saw all the Big 5 and much much more! It was well organized and the accommodation and food was amazing. Even catered for me as a vegetarian. Breathtaking scenery and wildlife encounters. This Safari is a must!!!

Nice experience with experienced guide & tour
5/5

I highly recommend Best Day Safaris for a safari in Tanzania. We did 3 night 4 day private tour included Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Our guide Janka is very friendly and experienced. Peter helped us a lot for the organization of the tour. Hotels are really nice and comfortable. Price & performance balance is perfect. Do not hesitate to go with them.

Wonderful experience in Tarangire with a friendly and knowledgeable guide
5/5

I had a few extra days in Arusha after some work finished early and planned a last minute trip with Bestday Safari to Tarangire park. The entire experience as excellent and they took care of everything, including lunch. I'm so glad I went with Bestday - the guide, Goodluck, was perfect for the trip. Because I was going alone, I thought it might be awkward with just me and the driver, but Goodluck was friendly and warm and helped me practice my Swahili all day. In the park itself, Goodluck was informed about the animals and shared lots of interesting facts about them. He also was great at communicating with other drivers about different animals spottings. Because of this, I got to see a cheetah with its cub, and even see it take off after an impala, elephants just meters away from the truck, and two different groups of lions. Goodluck lived to his name and provided a memorable trip to Tarangire.

Overall, I thought the trip was well priced ($330 total) for a last minute individual trip, the truck was in great condition, and the guide was great.

Beyond amazing time with an incredible tour company and guide
5/5

My husband and I spent seven wonderful days with Bestday Safaris in September 2019. Everything was absolutely perfect! I typically don’t write reviews but feel that Bestday really deserves the praise. Peter Charles, the managing director, was always very quick to answer the many questions we had before travelling to Tanzania. He also met with us during and after the safari to ensure everything went well. The accommodations, food and hotel staff were all incredible. Farm of Dream Lodge in particular gave us the most amazing welcome. Tukaone, Bestday’s own tented camp in the Serengeti, was our favourite. The staff there took such great care of us; it was the epitome of glamping. And then of course there was our guide and driver extraordinaire, Magi. I can’t say enough great things about Magi – he was professional, welcoming and knew the parks and animals better than I could have imagined. We found colobus monkeys in Arusha National Park, leopards and lions in Tarangire National Park, dozens of lions in Serengeti National Park (including two lionesses that we followed as they hunted and killed a zebra), cheetahs, hyenas, a caracal, a serval, and of course heaps of elephants, wildebeest, giraffes, and more. Magi made us feel truly welcome in Tanzania. He was constantly pointing things out, checking in on us and just generally ensuring we had a wonderful time. We felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend at the end of the safari. We also visited Olduvai Gorge (highly recommended) and did a cultural tour in Mto wa Mbu. We were able to choose our activities so we opted to go to a coffee shop, visit a banana plantation, meet wood carvers, eat a delicious traditional lunch cooked outside and try some very terrible banana beer (the experience was great though!) THANK YOU to Peter and Magi. You were a huge part of making our visit to Tanzania the trip of a lifetime. We hope to come back one day!
