The most amazing holiday in every respect, I want to go back again and again

We did 2 safaris with this company, both times everything exceeded our expectations. Will go again soon.

Unique blend of different parks and animals with excellent food, support, fantastic guide knowledge
5/5

Background information prior booking and support during booking and while travelling in Africa. The safari (s) were fabulously close to the animals and the choice of different parks was interesting. The other places visited were really lovely and very interesting. Transport was clean and comfortable (as could be). We'd go again if there weren't so many other places to see! Perhaps a different trip with Masihambe Afrika another time. Very good value for price!!

Masihambe gave me the greatest adventure of my lifetime
5/5

We went on perhaps one of the most difficult of all African safaris - East Africa (it was Masihambe's first time there).
There were no issues with communications and the service was excellent. We tented most of the way so there was little time to get too comfortable. Never the less no one complained about the conditions we faced.
The whole tour was professionally run and it was a credit to the tour operator.

Unbelievable experience
5/5

The Pearl of Africa lived up to it’s name with an amazing tour. I travelled to Namibia with this company in August and was so impressed with all aspects of Masihambe Afrika I went back a few weeks later as they had a cancellation on their Uganda tour. There were just six of us and our awesome, knowledgeable guide, Ant. Part of this tour was camping (and putting up our own tents) in remote places with few if any other people around. Ant is a great cook and story teller and we loved sitting around the campfire sharing stories at night.
Uganda exceeded my expectations. The gorilla trek just amazing as was the chimp trek. There are just 36 white rhino in Uganda and 34 in the reserve where we stayed and walked with them. The Nile river was clean and teaming with wildlife as was the delta. The people, especially the children, are friendly and happy.
I would highly recommend Masihambe Afrika. Would not go to Africa with anyone else and have now booked my third trip with them to Botswana next year.

An amazing experience, thrilling to be "up close and personal " with so many different wild animals
5/5

Communications with Jude Hartley was excellent. She helped out in so many ways and that was much appreciated. Our tour guide Anthony was just the best. He was so knowledgeable, interesting and considerate of all our needs. Tour group size of 8 people was ideal. Good to have one empty seat in land cruiser. Vehicle was a little older than expected and took a battering on all the bumpy, uneven surfaced roads and tracks. This aspect of the amount of time and distance traveled (about 5000Km) was not clearly stated in the initial information about the trip. A reasonable level of physical fitness and endurance is required. However our group of mostly over 65's coped extremely well and we all maintained a positive and cheerful attitude. "Don't worry, Be happy" was our our theme song played many times on CD while travelling.
The standard of accommodation and food throughout the trip was excellent. Wonderful to have comfortable beds with clean sheets every night. It was fun preparing our own food and sharing cooking responsibilities together on some evenings. I enjoyed the African "banquets" in the larger restaurants also. Probably the best of all was the 5 days /4 nights out in the Chobe National Parks. Our team of 6 locals looked after us superbly well and prepared delicious meals cooked over a fire. The long days and early starts in the morning were worth the effort , and rewarded by the most amazing sightings of so many different animals. As this was the main purpose for our tour, I was just so thrilled to see the full range of animals and birds and vegetation so typical in Africa, but only seen in books or zoos here in New Zealand. My 10/50 binoculars were perfect, and I spent many hours observing close up these amazing creatures living in their natural environment. The huge number of photos and videos taken will be a lasting memory of the unique and wonderful experience. Well worth every dollar spent, and excellent value for money.

A couple of suggestions. I know this was primarily a wildlife and game park reserve and we also had so opportunities for some sightseeing, in particular around Victoria Falls which was magnificent. However, for me personally I would have enjoyed a few more opportunities to visit local communities and get to interact with the local people in their on environment . Also some more chances of walking around the areas, as I missed my regular exercise regime.

Another idea. While the Okavango Delta visit was a unique and special place, and I really enjoyed the peace and fascination of the environment, my suggestion would be to condense this visit into one night only, by including a plane trip to to local airstrip on the first morning early, do the beautiful sunset cruise, and mokoro pole cruise the next day through the the delta, then return to Maun that afternoon. Include the flights in the full costs instead of paying for additional sightseeing trip from Maun. This would mean one less day on the Tour, but would eliminate 2 long days of travelling in the cruiser over very rough roads. Just a thought.

Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. I will be thoroughly recommending to others.

Wild South Africa; absolutely brilliant, and I would highly recommend this trip as a "must do".
5/5

This was my 4th trip with Masihambe Afrika and as with all the others, it was absolutely fantastic and a laugh a minute. From the game parks, to the quirky little towns and villages(thanks to the small detours made along the way!,)the gorgeous coastline and whales, the spectacular Drakensberg Mountains we drove through, the bush and forests, made it such a memorable time. South Africa is a beautiful country with very welcoming and friendly people. Cape Town is so colourful and vibrant,I could easily have stayed another week or two. The Lodges we stayed in were lovely with great service and the food fantastic.
To Jude and Ant, thanks for the memories! And thank you Ant, for your amazing knowledge of all things African, your stories that had everyone in fits of laughter, and that sense of humour! I'll be smiling for months to come.

Wildlife & Game Parks
5/5

Whilst I have travelled to Africa on many occasions this is the first time I have booked through Masihambe Afrika and have just had the most amazing time on the Wildlife and Parks trip through SA, Zim and Botts.

From start to finish the passion for Africa shown by the owner Jude really showed. An amazing amount of time and effort went into making the sure the itinerary and accommodation were tailored to ensure you get the best possible experience.

I really liked the way our guide gave a briefing each night of what we could expect the next day, his passion also shone through and he always did his upmost to ensure we were able to make the most of the available game viewing, local and cultural experiences.

There were too many highlights to list them all, but without a doubt the opportunity to stay in a mobile camp out in the bush for 4 nights certainly has to be up there, even in the middle of no where Jude had chosen the most amazing company who ensured every possible detail was covered.

I would have absolutely no reservations about recommending the company to others and am already talking to Jude about a trip to East Africa next year!!

Mountains, Gorillas, Safaris, Beaches, Wetlands and Waterfalls
5/5

We selected Jude because she had lived in Africa for many years, knows it well, has many local contacts, is a Kiwi and now lives back in NZ. This made planning easy. She and Anna put together a customised and complicated itinerary which included Kilimanjaro, Gorillas in Uganda, North Tanzania safari, Zanzibar and Northern Botswana finishing at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. The many flights and connections all went to plan, the accommodation was as requested, the tour operators very good. The personalised service provided by Jude was excellent. I can recommend any NZ'ers looking to holiday in Africa, especially first timers, to use Masihambe Afrika for either a guided or custom tour.
