Excellent in every way
5/5

We rented an extended Toyota Land Cruiser, with pop-top & seven seats for a week. The company was prompt in all communications, easy to work with, and the vehicle was exactly as described. While it had some miles on it, it worked perfectly and had no mechanical issues. They even provided maps and a Garmin GPS. This is a "real" safari truck - the same as many of the guided safaris use and that you can pay upwards of $400 a day from some operators. Driving in Uganda is not as scary as many say. Drive with purpose, without crazy maneuvers, and give way without giving too much way, and you will be just fine! Very much recommend this company, as they deliver what they promise.

Excellent, polite, helpful and efficient experience
5/5

We hired a Toyota Land Cruiser for 8 days for a safari in QENP and a small Toyota car from a further week in Kampala. The company was extremely helpful going out of their way to deliver and collect both vehicles from our hotel. Both vehicles were excellent and were reasonably priced. I met 3 members of staff at different points during our rental period and they were all extremely helpful and punctual. I have no reservations recommending this company.

Great car, excellent service
5/5

I booked my entire holiday in Uganda myself: car rental, lodges, trekking permits.
Had lots of email contacts with a lot of people to arrange it all, but Paul from 4x4Uganda was the one I could rely on to reply prompty and accurately. Knowing what I know now, I would have asked Paul to take care of the trekking permits as well, and would have consulted him abour our lodge reservations. I got a good price on the car, and it performed great. Yes, there was a problem: a shock broke down. Within 3 hours after I phoned Paul there was a mechanic at the (remote) lodge where I was staying, with a replacement shock. At no extra costs for me.
I also had to drive the car over a flooded road, and the one meter high water proved too much for a bigger toyota safari jeep, but the prado came through without problems. (Made for some nice video's to:-)
In short: good car, good price, great service! Highly recommended!!!

With 4x4 Uganda from Entebbe to Dar Es Salaam, a perfect ride
5/5

We hired a nice Landcruiser from 4x4 Uganda, for 3 weeks, reservations and contract done by internet . The company gave excellent services and helped us with visa and all other information needed. The car was delivered to us in Entebbe at the hotel. We drove through Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania and handed the car over in Dar Es Salaam where the company picked the car. We had the first days in and around Kampala a very good and nice driver, the rest of the 4000 km's we drove ourselves. The car and company were and are very reliable and we had a great time in 3 East African countries.

Fortnight car hire round Uganda
5/5

We were very impressed with the whole experience of finding, negotiating and being served by 4x4 Uganda. They delivered a Toyota Prado to our guest house in Entebbe at the promised time (or before) and were happy to pick up afterwards. It was a slightly older vehicle but performed well, even on challenging roads! So I am very happy to recommend you to anyone reading.

Professional and good service
4/5

We had good and plenty contact beforehand. We hired a 4 x 4 Prada and it was delivered at our hotel at the time we agreed upon. During our trip we had some small damage but this was not a big deal. A local mechanic helped us out. We recommend 4x4 Uganda for self-drive travellers. And also thank you for your advice with the schedule. Finally; we totally love Uganda and will send many more Dutch travellers.

Great experience and great adventure!
5/5

I connected with Paul over the internet after emailing a couple different rental companies and I got a good feel for Paul. He always responded back thoughtfully and within a reasonable time - having never been to this part of Africa it was a bit of a difficult thing to feel out - but a gut feel was all I really had to go on. We agreed on a Land Cruiser Prado and he also arranged our Gorilla Permits free of charge (we had to pay the permit fee, but he got them for us at no additional charge).

Paul met us at the airport and gave us a quick run through of the car and some important bits and pieces about driving on the roads in Africa. My fiancee and I proceeded to drive the car just over 1500km in 10 days including spending time in the Masai Mara (crossing the border in to Kenya) and all the way down to Rwanda. Paul arranged everything we needed to cross the borders as smoothly as possible - but the thing you have to remember is that in Africa nothing is ever as easy as you hope it will be.

Regardless, the car was in good shape and handled the roads (and pot holes) as well as can be expected. A couple of tire repairs were necessary but Africa is full of service shops who can patch and repair tires. We did ask Paul to get us a new spare which he agreed to and met us out on the road after one tire was unfortunately beyond repair.

Wonderful experience and an absolutely incredible way to see more of Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya than I ever imagined I would. It's a pretty special part of the world and the people are - for the most part - wonderful and very kind.

Paul and 4x4 Uganda are two things you can put your trust in while planning your trip. Highly recommended.

Superb service, new and good car - Perfect
5/5

Everything was great. Booking was easy, accommodating our exact needs and flexible for changes if we need (which we actually had). The car was new, clean just what you would expect. Exactly the model that we had agreed. We didn't have any car issues along the way. Originally was asked for a driver only for the first day. When we realized that in Uganda they drive like UK, we asked to have the driver (Ken) for the full vacation. We really enjoyed Ken's driving, explanation and knowledge and good spirit.
