Eight days on an exiting private-safari with Emmanuel
5/5

Our guide and driver Emmanuel Mushi has proved to be an excellent guide with exceptional knowledges of the highlights in the northern part of Tansania. Emmanuel did not only lead us safely on the tour, but also we enjoyed his competent information about nature, animals and also the history of this country. What we have seen exceeded by far our expectation.

We therefore recommend strongly our guide Emmanuel for this kind of vacation in Tansania.

Amazing Safari
5/5

From the beginning of our research to find our agency for the safari, Deograsias was reactive for answering our questions in details and adapt the trip to our criterias and constraints. The safari in itself was perfect, mainly thanks to Dismass, our French-speaking guide, real expert of wild animals. Even though we asked a lot of questions about animals and Tanzania in general, he always had an answer to provide. We really enjoyed spending those 3 days with him and for sure will call Deograsias to have Dismass as a guide if we have the chance to do another safari.

Tanzania
5/5

We had a wonderful time! In all honesty, I was unsure that Furahia Tanzania was going to meet our expectations especially when my deposit and final payment were going to a Postal Box. I did some due diligence , but mostly trusted that there would be no issues. There were absolutely none.
We were immediately met upon our arrival by Safe, our guide and driver for the next ten days and a friend for life. Safe proved remarkable capable and cooperative. His knowledge of Tanzanian floral and fauna was both entertaining and enlightening. His knowledge of English was extensive and thorough. He was always punctual, patient and professional. Safe also ensured that we were always safe from both animals and street vendors. He taught us some basic Swahili words and the names of the animals we saw. Safe was also very flexible. He encouraged us to have him stop if there was something that we wanted to take a closer look at or for a photo opportunity. He was also flexible when it came to skipping things or stops that didn’t interest us or spend extra time at places that did. Safe put life and energy into the tour and without someone like him, our safari would have not been as wonderful as it was. He was perfect.
The vehicle were used was fine. There was a problem with the radio. Drivers use their radios to inform others where there were opportunities to see the more elusive animals, but Safe did just fine without a working one. Due to his knowledge and experience, we were often the first or even only people watching a pride of lions or observing cheetahs and leopards. On our last day, the observation roof’s strut broke. This was disappointing, but understandable given the road conditions experienced. Safe washed the vehicle at least three times including cleaning the interior. There were no mechanical issues even though we saw numerous other vehicles at the side of the road including those operated by the larger safari companies.
The itinerary and lodgings organized by Angel were varied and very different. The scheduled overnights may not be for everyone as they ranged from a basic room and no frills breakfasts to luxury accommodations and gourmet meals (Villa Luna). I would recommend Villa Luna for your arrival night and the night prior to your departure as you are pampered by Viki and Alex. Regardless, they were all clean, safe- even with elephants walking past our “tent” in the middle of the night, food plentiful and each unique in its atmosphere, staff and accommodations. As a word of caution, make sure that the lodgings you stay at are suited to your expectations. Ours were not rough or unpleasant, but if you go just make sure you will be comfortable. We were. While nature and Safe provided the daylight experiences, Angel organized the evenings. Well done Angel.
The one negative, but completely understandable element of our trip was the last day’s activities of a tour of a local town. This tour included a walk through banana growing plantations, local lunch at a Women’s project and the town, but also had stops at wood carving and picture painting sites, where items were offered for sale. I didn’t particularly like the retail aspect. The tour of the school and the demonstrations of the 3-6 year olds were very special especially for my wife who is an elementary school educator. I said it was understandable and this is because the company is active in the community with regard to AIDS prevention, youth activities and donates a portion of the profits back to the Mto wa Mbu community.
All in all, there are bigger and better known safari providers, but I would rather go with Furahia Tanzania because of our experiences and our very positive memories of Tanzania, Safe, the parks we visited and the places we stayed.

Excellent Moment with my Family in Tarangire with Furahia Tanzania Dec 14, 2022 unforgettable
5/5

I had a wonderful day trip in Tarangire, organized by the Furahia Tanzania Safari & Trekking Ltd which took place on 14th December 2022. The staff for the Furahia are on time in terms of time management. Their Manager organized his team so that everyone was on time. We firstly agreed on the departure time a day before the trip. He called us in the morning to check our readiness for the trip. We check out of the Lodge in the morning, had nice breakfast, and then the Guide came to pick us from the lodge. They had prepared nice lunch boxes for us , water and soft drinks of our choice. We started the tour at around 7.45 am and the Guide who was so conversant with the geographic surroundings , he narrated everything on the way to Tarangire. He told us stories about the maasai cultures, clarified on fauna e.g acacias trees, grass, and flora on birds and their behaviors etc. So the trip to the national park was so involving , interactive and enjoyable We arrived at the park gate at around 9.30 am, and we heard news that , they spotted a leopard one of the big five, a very rare animal to be noticed , that was seen on a tree, some 300 meters from the Tarangire Gate,. The guide was so fast to get gate permission protocol cleared and permit obtained within 10 minutes , we proceeded and enjoyed viewing the animal, relaxed on the site. We proceeded with the trip, saw many elephants, giraffes, Warthogs, Zebras, impalas, and Phythons hiding in the bush. The Guide Mr Gift Mbwambo, is so kind, professional, knowledgeable, with lot of sense of humor. He listens to our demands and try out to flex the routes to be able find out and see some animals which are rarely noticed in the afternoon. it was unbelievable that the Guide could link up with his colleagues to be updated where a lion was noticed on that day and he managed to pick us to see a relaxing lion close to a thorny bush. He could use the radio call and again was updated on where his colleagues had spotted the Pythons. The Guide was also good on time management, to the extent that we were able to pass by the Arusha Snake Park and thereby enjoyed viewing various snakes in the park and later enjoyed camel riding close to the snake park.. We returned to the Lodge at around 18 hours had dinner and waited for the World Cup match quarter final between Morocco and France In Summary, Furahia Tanzania Safari and Trekking staff and management are nice, organized, friendly, professional, on time , knowledgeable, hospitable, considerate, who can make your trip to accrue the value for money. Indeed you will maximize your safari enjoyment and your stay if you pick to be serviced by this company.

- wonderful - outstanding - excellent -
5/5

starting from arusha via tarangire national park to lake manyara, mto wa mbu, ngorongoro crater, central serengeti, marariver, lake natron back to arusha. the team around deo shirima did a great job in prepairing the whole gamedrive ; all their advices have been very helpful to get wonderful impressions of nature.
our driver/guide george, a member of the massai spoke good german language and he explained every animal, flower and tree. his courtesy, his knowledge and his behavior made the trip to an outstanding adventure. it‘s worth not to skimp on accomodations.
every evening we Made a Review and discussed our gamdrive for the next day with the guide - so everybody got an idea what will happen next day. george has an outstanding feeling for finding the right stops taking pictures and Videos, whatching animals, hidden places with lions, cheetahs, leopards, hippos … so we did the big 5 within 3 days!!! the most impessive adventure was to be in the middle of more than 20 elephants in a distance of one and a half meter, the crossing of more than one and a half million of wildbeest in one run. on a scale of 0 - 10 furahia and specially our guide george will get 12!!!

Amazing Safari with professional guide
5/5

Me and my parents have had an amazing Safari with Furahia. I got in touch with Deo (the owner) through his boxing gym in Mto Wa Mbu, a village on the way to Ngorongoro and Serengeti. Deo owns the boxing gym and this is part of a great charity organization aiming to raise awareness for the importance of sports and he does this in an amazing way.

Now for the safari. Our driver guide George was a very professional guide. He had excellent knowledge about nature and wildlife, and gave us an amazing Safari experience. He was also able to tell us a lot about local cultures like the Masai, the ethnic group to which he himself belong. We visited Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Arusha national park. Each one of these parks having its own unique features and all worth a visit. After this we spended three days in and around Moshi after which the safari was over.

I would greatly recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional, trustworthy Safari.

Great Safari Experience with Furahia
5/5

Two of us did a 9-day safari with Furahia Safari. Our English speaking guide, Dismass was very knowledgeable with identifying the animals and birds but also their behaviors and symbiotic relationships. This really enhanced our experience. He was thoughtful and practiced in attending to needs throughout the trip.
Though our truck was a bit worn, we were very pleased with the accommodations, food, and most of all, the safari experience. Seriously consider Furahia if you are planning a Tanzanian safari.
On the practical side, we were in the Serengeti during dry season. If you are sensitive to dust, I recommend bringing some over-the-counter masks. Really helped minimize sinus problems.

Awesome experience, can't wait to do more.
5/5

Deograsias was always attentive in the planning stage, always responding quickly or updating our agenda when we made requests. His goal is to make his clients happy, this we learned. Our guide Dismas was a dream, we couldn't have had a better companion -- he is highly knowledgeable, responsible, and fun to be with, too. Our lodges and tented camps (Migration and Big Cats trip) were top notch (wifi, ensuite, good hot showers and bedding, often a swimming pool, etc.) , and we had great vegetarian food at each of them. If you go, and you should, be aware that there will be plenty of dust on the drives, so put some face masks in your suitcase, and be prepared for some bumpy roads!
