A professional organisation who organised our holiday from start to finish
5/5

Kennedy organised our holiday from start to finish. We visited 4 parks and had a spell on the beach.
When a query arose prior to our holiday his response was immediate regardless of the time of day. There was an issue with our visa and he went round to the visa office in Nairobi to resolve this.
Our driver Daniel was very knowledgeable and pleasant.
I’d recommend Africa Challenge Safaris to organise your holiday.

Amazing, once in a lifetime trip!
5/5

- Prior to our trip, Kennedy was in constant contact and on hand to answer any questions promptly.

- The service was perfect, we were met at the airport by Kennedy and briefed on the trip ahead. While on Safari, we noticed that we had the best vehicle as most other tourists were cramped into small van type vehicles. Our vehicle was spacious and was able to reach off-road areas that the vans could not.

- The Sopa Lodges are beautiful and very clean.

- Anderson, our driver was AMAZING!!! He was very punctual, experienced at game hunting and extremely accommodating to all our requests. He made our trip special.

- Masai Mara is an incredible safari trip. There are many opportunities for intimate moments with the animals. The visit to the Masai tribe village is a must too. It’s a very interesting, cultural experience.

Excellent Safari - Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli
5/5

We have just returned from a fantastic trip to Kenya and Zanzibar, without a doubt our highlight of the trip was our six day safari with African Challenge. Our trip started in Nairobi where Kennedy booked us two nights in the Best Western Meridian Hotel, it was a good mid-range hotel with all the amenities you required and friendly staff. Kennedy provided one of the nights complementary.

We met Kennedy the day before our safari and he was most welcoming. We asked about the Carnivore Cafe and he provided us a 40% discount and arranged a driver. The meal was fantastic - it's not hard to tell why this is a well recommended tourist restaurant!

The next day we headed out on our safari, Kennedy met us in the morning to introduce us to our driver for the safari (who was also called Kennedy!). Our driver was fantastic, knowledgeable and did an impeccable job of driving us over long distances to different reserves. His expertise and intimate knowledge of the parks meant we had no trouble at all finding the big five - we achieved it on day two! He was patient, friendly and accommodating.

We were also lucky enough to be a family of three in a van to ourselves. The vehicle was comfortable and the pop up roof gave us 360 views across the parks. A lot of tour operator vans (TUI, Hayes&Jarvis, KUONI etc) had full vans and you would often see people scrambling over each other to get a view - we didn't have that problem at all. Plus we benefited from ratio of 1 guide to 3 guests so it was much easier to negotiate and plan our drives.

The accommodation AfricanChallenge arranged was excellent. We stayed in SOPA Masai Mara, SOPA Lake Nakuru (which had amazing views from your bed) and Kibo Amboseli. The lodges were luxury and given the option I would highly recommend paying for a good nights sleep as the safari can be very tiring.

We could not list a single bad thing about African Challenge. Orchestrated perfectly by Kennedy - he even rounded off the trip by arranging a free of change transfer to the airport at 5am for us!

Two Top tips:
1. Bring a pillow and entertainment for the long drives between parks.
2. Get Kennedy's WhatsApp - he'll message you during the trip to check you're OK!

Thank you very much to both Kennedy's for their excellent guidance and making the trip as special as it was.

Wonderful Surprise 40th Birthday Safari
5/5

The Safari was a surprise for my wife’s 40th Birthday, something she has always talked about & was so desperate to experience. We would be taking our 8-Year-Old daughter, so I was Planning a safe trouble-free Safari with a WOW! FACTOR & beach to follow KENNEDY YOU CERTAINLY DELIVERED!

After some initial emails to various other operators, I very soon settled on AFIACANCHALLENGE SAFARIS they were by far the most professional than any other operators I dealt with. Kennedy was extremely polite & prompt with his replies to any questions I Asked, I felt in very safe hands.

After a few exchanges Kennedy soon got an Idea for what I was looking for. His knowledge of the area and suggestions on all the accommodation on Safari & Beach were excellent & he guided me to the best accommodation to suit our tastes. A true tented camp small luxurious, intimate & peaceful. without doubt I would never have been able to find this without his expert advice. A Jewel in the Masi Mara. Thank you !

He tailored our Safari and Beach extension to exactly our needs, & any slight alterations to our itinerary. was executed extremely quickly & without fuss.

After our deposit was paid, we had constant communication at any time of the day or night via Kennedys WhatsApp, his Responses were immediate every time. Excellent Service.

I cannot recommend AFIACANCHALLENGE SAFARIS & Kennedy enough. If you are considering a Safari just book with these.

We started with a 3 night stay at Entim Camp. What an amazing place!! I fell in love with it from the moment we arrived. The tents (more like 5 star rooms than tents!) are big and luxurious, with comfortable beds, a shower, a safe etc. The view from our tent was stunning, looking down to the river, where we could see and hear the hippos grunting! The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Maureen is lovely, she welcomed us upon our arrival, and spoke to us every evening to ask all about our day's adventures and to arrange the time for our wake up call. She came running over to hug us when we left! James, our waiter, could not have been more friendly or attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for him. On our last night there, my daughter and I were overwhelmed when James presented us each with a beautiful Masaai necklace that his Mother had made for us. Thank you so much James! A wonderful gift that we shall treasure. Thank you also to Gabriel, who bought our hot drinks to the tent every morning. One day after our early morning game drive we went on a river walk with Ben and Amos, two of the Massai Warriors. We saw hippos and crocs, and Ben was extremely informative and knowledgable. We gave Ben a pair of binoculars as a gift, and the gratitude he showed was extremely touching. On our last morning, Ben came to our tent with 2 Massai bracelets that he had made for my daughter. Thank you so much Ben, she will treasure them.

We did two game drives a day, one before breakfast and one late afternoon. Our guide, Anderson, was fantastic, and taught us all about the wildlife. We were lucky enough to see 2 leopards (one with her cub), lions, elephants, giraffe, zebra, 5 cheetahs, warthogs, jackals, hyenas, buffalo and many, many more! The African savannah is just stunning, as is the sky, especially at sunset.

The camp is not fenced, and I have been surprised at the number of people asking me, since we returned, if I felt safe there. It never occurred to me not to feel safe! There are Masaai guards patrolling the tents all night, and when you are ready for dinner, you signal with your torch outside the tent (which my daughter particularly enjoyed doing!) and they escort you to dinner.

We were extremely sad to leave Entim, and my only regret is that we didn't have longer here. I could have happily stayed for a month! The peace and tranquility is like nothing I've ever experienced before. If you are wondering whether to book, do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be returning to this magical place, it has stolen my heart.
Then Onto our rest & Relaxation, the Coast of Diani Beach Awaits, what an amazing hotel and beach it was just what we needed after a hectic Safari. Of course, Kennedy delivered again, not only was it the best hotel on Diani Beach but we had the best Beach Cottage in the Hotel No.34 locates just feet away from the most gorgeous sandy beach in the world.
What wasn’t there to like about this hotel, the food and restaurant was amazing such a wide choice and gorgeous food , Red snapper , steaks , pizza from wood fired oven & so much more .. & of course plenty of G&T’s . All with a position right on the beach staring out to sea’
Super ! Super ! holiday from start to finish, all well executed and controlled by Kennedy.
See you again soon for the next one very soon

Tano Bora
5/5

I give African Challenge Safaris a highest recommendation for many reasons. Firstly, communication from the start was excellent. Kennedy promptly answered all of my questions, no matter how trivial they seemed. He arranged all accommodation that wasn't directly to do with the safari as well as the wonderful camp that I stayed in during the safari, the Mara Leisure Camp. He also arranged for Covid testing and took me to Nairobi Hospital to have it done.
The safari itself was amazing! I have never been to Kenya or the Maasai Mara. My goal for this trip was to see Tano Bora and only Tano Bora! Other animals were a bonus but Tano Bora was the focus. Johnstone, my guide, was wonderful, very knowledgeable, extremely good at finding the cats, and very patient with this cheetah-obsessed client! We also saw other beautiful animals and birds, including my favourite Secretary Bird, and only missed Tano Bora on one day of the 5 actual safari days when the cheetahs retreated into a restricted area.
The Mara Leisure Camp was wonderful! The staff members were very friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. The food was amazing and the sleeping tents very comfortable and quiet. I enjoyed the Camp very much and can't wait to return!
My trip was fantastic; it was everything and more that I had hoped for! I give African Challenge Safaris a 5-star rating and hope to see everyone again when I return to the Mara next year!!
