Incredible adventure, a must do for all travelers interested in visiting enchanting Africa !!
5/5

My wife and I toured with Discovery Expeditions to Kenya in July/August 2016. Jim and Carol are both amazing! And we could not speak more highly of their very professional, courteous and knowledgeable staff based in Kenya. They have excellent connections and knowledge of Kenya and it proved valuable time and time again on our adventure with them. Africa should be on everyone's bucket list. The whole trip we felt completely safe with zero stress on our part. It was a trip of a lifetime made better by the quality of adventures, food and accommodations that we Experienced with Discovery XA. So good in fact, that we are signing up again to travel with them to Peru this Spring. We can't wait!

Best adventure ever!
5/5

What an amazing experience! The Discovery XA guides were amazing. We saw everything we wanted to see and the accommodations were perfect. They tailored the experience to our group and what we wanted to do.

Safari in Africa is a must-do vacation, but you have to be careful about which guide service you choose. While we were staying in the lodges we had the chance to see and talk to other travelers with other guide companies. We quickly realized that our experience was above the rest. I can't say enough about how well we were treated and how skilled our guides were at finding the cool wildlife. I loved it!

This safari exceeded all expectations!
5/5

A safari had always been at the top of my list of trips to take and this company exceeded all expectations! Every detail was handled with professionalism and expertise. The guides were warm, friendly and seemed expert at knowing how to spot the wildlife. I loved every moment of this trip and can't wait to do another safari with them.

A great adventure
5/5

We went on safari in 2017. It was an amazing experience. Not only did we see the top five animals we watched the wildebeest migration. We watched lions eat zebras and wildebeests 15 feet from our vehicle.

The entire trip was professionally handled both for sleeping accommodations and when "on the road." I heartily recommend it.

Amazing, educational, stimulating experience that will always be a favorite memory
5/5

I had always had a secret dream to go on a photo safari. I never thought it would be possible. Discovery Expedition and Adventures made it possible in an incredibly beautiful way.
We had very personal care. The food and accommodations were very good.
We saw animals in their natural environment. The locations where we stayed made it so we didn’t have to spend much time traveling to get to animals.
Small group tour-personal attention-quick responses to question and many other things make these tours amazing. This was our second tour with them and we go again in May. Loved it. Recommend it.

Amazing and almost indescribable!!
5/5

From the moment we got off the plane to the moment we departed ways on the last leg of the journey, we felt taken care of like royalty!! We (family group of 7) traveled with Jim the entire way. His knowledge and understanding of all the animals was incredible!! It is indescribable how many animals you see in any given day!! We had over 160 lion sightings, some at an arms length!! Could have petted them, they were that close to our vehicles!! Maybe not a good idea!! We had experiences in several environments. Sometimes dry and arid, and other lush and green. ALL absolutely unbelievable!! The first week, we literally pinched ourselves seeing lions laying around (they do seems like the one of the most lazy creatures! Probably not at night when they are hunting the most!), leopards hanging in trees with their young ones and with their "kill" carcasses hanging in the tree nearby, elephants - babies of all ages, mommies and big guys too, hyenas, baboons, monkeys (lots of monkeys everywhere!), zebras, gazelles- everywhere!- lots of different kinds, the totally cool cheetahs -usually always on the hunt and the move. The icing on the cake for our group was hiking to see the gorillas inn Rwanda (the most incredible country and people!).

Exceeded all my dreams of seeing wild Africa !
5/5

Our Safari was so much more than I expected. Jim, with Discovery XA is knowlegeble and enthusiastic about making sure we had a great experience. The accommodations were great, food was good, and the trucks were clean and comfortable. The drivers were just as enthusiastic as Jim, and very knowlegable about the animals. It was wonderful having a small group , 12, so we got to enjoy new friendships as well. I was able to see every animal that I had hoped and them MANY more. Even many beautiful birds. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing and learning so much about the lives of the animals in the wild. Watching them eat a kill, stalk and hunt, and even got to see a chase and kill. I cannot wait to go again! I also plan to try another trip with Jim and DiscoveryXA to a different country.

Life Changing Safari
5/5

My family and I had the most amazing trip to East Africa with Jim and his guides, Geoffrey, Jackson, and Edwin. Their group made is so easy to get from place to place. Their knowledge of the National Parks we visited and of the animals in the park was invaluable. We saw everything! I mean it! Lions every day, Cheetahs almost every day (which we were told was unusual), elephants, baby elephants, baby lions, baby zebras, baby pumbas. I could go on and on. The lodges they had us stay at were really amazing. I was expecting rusting lodges, but Jim had us set up in the most amazing places, with amazing views and easy access to the parks and animals.
My favorite day was in Sweetwater National Park, which is known for it's protection of the Rhinos. In the morning we watched a pride of lions finish eating a cape buffalo. Then in the afternoon we parked by the water hole and watched a herd of zebras come through, then a troop of elephants with babies (the best part!), then 6 white rhinos, and finally a group of wart hogs (pumbas) all use the same watering hole. It was the quintesencial Africa experiance and Geoffrey made it happen for us.
Our group as visited Rwanda to see the Mountain Gorillas. We got up close and personal with the gorillas in short walk. The walk we got was easy, but they assess your group and pick the right one for you. Our gorillas were very active so we were lucky to see them moving, eating, charging us and each other.
All that said, I wouldn't choose any other group for the tour. We also look forward to going with Jim on some of his other trips to Egypt and Antartica.

One of the best experiences of my life!
5/5

The trip was amazingly well coordinated and thought through. From day one, everything was taken care of, which removed a lot of stress. And within hours of landing in Kenya, we were on a reserve seeing giraffes, zebras, monkeys, antelope, even leopards and lions! And that was only the first day! Every day was a new adventure, and Jim's hand-picked drivers were so knowledgeable and observant. There were times we couldn't believe the drivers had spotted wild animals through brush and over plains. This experience is something everyone should do in their life time, and with Jim as your guide, you will never be wanting for more. We got so much closer and saw so many more varieties and amounts of animals than I ever would have guessed. He's a very skilled photographer, so if you want the best angles and tips on how to get the best shots, he's your guy! I left with over 6000 photos over the coarse of 2 weeks through Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. There were so many things to take photos of, so many opportunities for amazing photos and even more amazing experiences!
