Wayfairer organization of our family trip and support was outstanding
We were a family party of 10 including 4 children from Calgary, Canada. We travelled to the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa and then onward to the Shanti Maurice resort in Mauritius in May 2025.
The service and support from Wayfairer (Toon) was outstanding. Toon was always available to respond to any query prior to and during the trip.
The Madikwe Game Reserve was a magical experience for my family but in particular my 4 grandchildren. We all had a wonderful time. The service at the Lelapa Lodge was excellent. I cannot speak too highly of the staff. Our guide Mike was so helpful and informative. We were all very sad to leave after 4 days.
The Shanti Maurice resort in Mauritius is beautiful. Again, the service from the staff was wonderful.
All in all a wonderful family vacation and we are very grateful to Wayfairer for the meticulous planning of our trip. Everything went perfectly. This was not an inexpensive trip but it was worth every penny. We will definitely use Wayfairer for our next international adventure.

Provided an incredible itinerary to experience many adventures in South Africa & Zimbabwe
Our itinerary included all parts of what I wanted to experience in this trip. Guides ,drivers and tour leaders were perfect, knowledgeable, prompt and brought a lot to the plate!Cape Town, the Garden Route, Safari and a sleep out and a trip to Zimbabwe in 20 days was fabulous. It was easy to communicate with Etienne during the trip. The portal on my phone was fabulousl

They did it all - and then some!!
I started looking at luxury safari options when I came across Wayfairer's vacation trip. It sounded wonderful. I just had to see Victoria Falls, so Rhian modified the itinerary to include that at the beginning. Then our companion traveler wanted to go to Cape Town and dive with the Great Whites, so Rhian added that at the end, along with a visit to Cape Point and to see the South African penguins (so cute!!). I also found a safari at a Game Reserve next to Kruger National Park. I loved the information about the company, the conservation efforts, the community support, and the great reviews from former travelers. So Rhian had to figure out how to add that to our trip as well. I wish we could have just extended out visit for at least another week, but our companion traveler was restricted to two weeks of vacation, so we just spent less time at each camp/lodge. It was perfect!!
As time got closer, Dahlia picked up our trip and helped us navigate all the last minute details, visas, and transportation information.
The day comes for us to leave, and Newark airport just totally messed with our plans. Our plane into Newark was delayed because of, well Newark always has an excuse, but we would have missed our plane going to Johannesburg by four hours. We started calling the company that booked our international flights to see if we could get to Africa the following day. Unfortunately, our airline didn't have another option until two full days later! There goes Victoria Falls!! They finally found an option that took us to Frankfurt, Germany, with a 12 hour layover, then on to Johannesburg, arriving in time to quickly get on a flight to Victoria Falls and salvage most of the things we would have missed there - just one day late.
Dahlia was able to get the team from Singapore working on changing hotel arrangements, flights to Victoria Falls, transportation to our hotel, rebooked our helicopter tour, and the transportation associated with that, and voila! We're back on schedule! That was an absolute miracle!! The remainder of the trip went as planned, I recovered from two consecutive overnight flights, and my stress level went back to normal.
The locations that Rhian selected for our lodging were exceptional (we did find that one, a true "tent camp" was a bit more rustic than we could easily navigate - no paved walkways meant walking to the main building was precarious for senior travels and we suggested that older travelers should be warned and decide if they are up for the challenge). The Ilala Hotel in Victoria Falls is beautiful, and the closest lodging to the falls so you could see the spray in the air from the decks. Chobe Game Lodge has everything you could want, and their safari guides are an all woman team that has earned Botswana's certification for safari guides. Great safari drives, wonderful information, and the fantastic team of staff! My absolute favorite lodge was Dulini River Lodge at Sabi Sands in South Africa. It is a private reserve, which allows them to follow tracks into the bush to locate the animals. It is located adjacent to Kruger National Park, with no fencing to separate the animals, so animal activity abounds! Every drive meant seeing all the animals every time. They have a five star chef that caters to your dietary restrictions or just your whims, your butler makes sure your favorite beverage is always available - at lunch, dinner, in your mini refridgerator, and the cooler for the sunset cocktails in the bush. The staff is so helpful and attentive to detail. We had a traveler that needed wheelchair assistance back and forth to the room, since it was a bit hilly and farther than was reasonable early in the morning and late at night - one of the staff (Jambo) was always there to help us out. He was so concerned for our safety and comfort. Our tracker, Tyron, was a super sleuth at finding those animals, and our guide, Wayne, was like an encyclopedia about the animals, the environment, and the activities that help protect it all. We never doubted him when a bull elephant walked right up to the side of the vehicle to check us out. Wayne said, "Trust me," and we did. What an experience!!
So Wayfairer (Rhian) planned the perfect trip, with the best accomodations and safari locations, while Dahlia kept us on track and frequently reached out to make sure everything was still going well.
The travel package is not inexpensive, but the trip was so much more than we could have wished for. It was worth it all and more!
Fun and easy to work with! My questions were answered and anytime I needed help they were there!
We loved Ireland and Scotland! It was beautiful country all around.

Self drive tour of Drakensberg mountains, Lesotho and Kwazulu-Natal. Amazing recommendations, especially of the battlefields and safari lodges. Everything was seamless on arrival and better than my expectations. Would definitely use Wayfairer again!

Perfect Dream Safari Thanks to Wayfairer!
Wayfairer (with the help of Ellie and Aggie) planned and executed my dream safari trip. They were incredibly organized, knowledgeable, and responsive throughout the entire process. I initially described my ideal trip on a brief phone call with Ellie and she planned the PERFECT trip that exceeded all my expectations.
All of the travel within Kenya was seamlessly organized and I felt incredibly safe the entire time. I absolutely loved all of the camps I stayed at (Elerai in Amboseli, The Safari Cottages in Ol Pejeta, and Speke's Camp in the Mara).
I absolutely recommend using Wayfairer Travel to book your next adventure!
Well organised private tour
We decided to organise a 3-4 week tour of Laos/Vietnam and Cambodia and having been recommended by another travel agent we chose to go with Wayfairer Travel. From the initial planning, scheduling and extensive choice of excursions in each country we finally made up our minds on a private tour with driver and guide in each location throughout the tour. We were not to be dissapointed. The overall planning, advice and attention to detail from Wayfairer's specialists was outstanding. Even the Final itinerary with attached advice on health, currencies and contact details was provided in an easy to follow colourful digital format.
The tour itself was very well organised, with pick ups and hotel transfers all on time. We requested 4-5 star hotels and we certainly got what we paid for in each location. Excursions were all organised to suit our preferences and daily timescale. From half and full day tours to evening tours on the back of Vespas with bars, restaurants, street food and live music thrown in, we were kept busy.
We would recommend all three countries, all different, all full of history, architecture and varying landscapes. Above all the welcome received from meeting the local people going about their daily lives, learning to embrace and develop tourism as a way of life, many of them having lived through a much darker past made Indochina, for us, a fascinating and never to be forgotten destination.

Fabulous, fabulous and fabulous!!
Wayfairer really listened to what I wanted and taylor made my 60th birthday celebration trip accordingly. I was lucky to be contacted by Ettiene who is extremely knowledgable of the region and planned our trip. Wayfairer was always within reach by telephone or email. Our first stop was Camp Khwai, which is a small rustic style tented camp. We were warmly greeted by Rebbecca and her team. The staff were very personable and helped make my 60th birthday celebration extra special, which included a birthday cake in the bush!! Our tent had a living room, private swimming pool, outdoor shower and bath. Emmex, our guide was super knowledgeable and a great tracker too, we learnt so much from him. We managed to see almost everything. A highlight for us was the vast atmospheric African skies at sunset which included an electric storm and light show! An unforgettable experience! The food was delicious and included a few Botswanan staples, all prepared by the chef at Camp Khwai. She had a difficult task as we had one vegan, one vegetarian and one pescatarian as well as non fussed eaters. The second part of our trip went off as smoothly as the first, all transfers were seamless and we were met at the border and taken to our lovely hotel in Vic Falls. We stayed at the Palm River hotel which felt more like a 5 star hotel rather than a 4 star. It was wonderful to see warthog, monkeys and a few impalas walking around the immaculate grounds. Ettiene had organised a sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi, which was wonderful and more hippos were seen and a Boma experience the following night. The second day we, did the Vic Falls and as per recommendation, went to the Lookout restaurant for lunch and enjoyed the spectacular views as well as the food. We had the most fantastic experience, celebration and holiday. I can only highly, highly recommend Wayfairer and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.
