Absolutely more than I could have expected
5/5

I just returned from a 16-day safari through Kenya and Tanzania with
Twinkle Star Safaris. I was supposed to travel last year but COVID
postponed it until this year. Let me say that from the very beginning
James was quick to respond to emails and was able to work on planning
the safari that I wanted. My tour was through Kenya and Tanzania. I was
met at the Nairobi airport by my guide, Patrick. My flight was late but
Patrick was patiently waiting on me. For the first week, we visited
Samburu, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara. My personal favorite was Masai
Mara. I joked with Patrick and told him that riding with him was like
being with Mr. National Geographic. Any question that I had, he had an
answer for. So knowledgeable on not just the animals and parks, but also
all the small towns that we traveled in between. If you use Twinkle
Star, make sure you ask for PATRICK!! He will not disappoint you.
Another word of advice, pay the extra money and upgrade to the Land
Cruiser. It will allow you access to more areas in the park. Thank you
Patrick for showing me the Big 5!! The leopard was hard to find but he
didn't give up. Also thank you James for making my dream vacation
happen, you did not disappoint. I know that this trip is a big
investment for anyone but you will not regret it. I appreciate that
James takes such interest in his customers. He met me at the hotel in
Nairobi before my safari started and walked me to a nearby shopping area
and bank at my request. In addition, at the conclusion of the safari, he
met me to make sure that my safari was just what I wanted. Customer
satisfaction is truly a top priority for him.

Good experience and a helpful operator
5/5

We booked a 9-day safari through Twinkle Star. James is very helpful, we communicated a lot before the trip. He tried his best to help us.

The driver in Tanzania is incredible. He is responsible and knowledgable. He explained the culture of Tanzanian and the characters of different animals in the trip. We saw migration for four times in three days. We also saw Lion, Chita, Leopard ......the driver always search for a good area for us to take photo. For the accommodation, I highly recommend Chaka Extra Camp. The staffs are very nice. The food, environment and camp are perfect.

For Kenya, our driver, Robert, did a very bad job. His car broke down. We could not go to safari with him. We joint another group in the end. Also, his car broke down again on the day we have to go back to airport. Without the help of James and other African, we afraid we may not catch our flight. James sent another driver to take us immediately. However, Robert tried to lie to us telling us that his car was okay.

Thank you, James.

Jambo Yan,

Thank you for reviewing your experience on a 9 days safari in Kenya and Tanzania and acknowledging Twinkle star Tours and Safaris.

Your mention about James been very helpful by communicating to you and arranging your Africa safari for you, we really appreciate for that.

Chaka camp is the best camp in Tanzania mostly for the first time travelers on their safari in Africa, we are really happy for letting us know we booked the best accommodation for you.

We are deeply sorry for knowing what you went through with your Kenyan driver Robert, we have taken note on that very keenly to avoid another incidence like that again.

We thank you again for sharing this experience with us, we would like to welcome you again on your next Safari in Africa.

Asante Sana.

Great Budget Safari with Minor Hiccup
5/5

I recently did the 4-Day Tanzanian Safari. The tour was organized by Twinkle Star but subcontracted to Inno Africa Safari. There was a little issue with my arrival and a driver not being at the airport but this was quickly remedied with a message to Mr. Oketch.

The safari itself was great with a very nice driver and accomplished chef. We were able to see all of the big 5, though the rhinos we're very far away.

As a solo traveler, I was able to join with other solo travelers and make some friends during the safari.

The accommodations were better than expected for a budget safari and overall I had a great time. I would definitely recommend this tour to my friends and family.

Excellent! Amazing! Great tour company for the price!
5/5

I just got back from the 4-day Tanzania Safari. It was spectacular! I was lucky enough to see all Big 5 wild animals. Our tour driver was Alibaba. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the animals. He answered all of our questions. James does a great job with the company. I was able to contact and talk with him directly. He answered all of my questions very well.

Thank you!

Perfect budget-safari
5/5

For a budget traveller, this is a great option!

Communication is easy, and everything is smooth.

We got a pick up in the airport to our hotel, and then another pick up the next morning to the safari-bus and then we got a ride to our airBnB in Nairobi when the safari ended.
All went according to plan.

There's a ration of water (1 bottle per person per day), but you can buy beverage at lunch and at the tent camp.
It's a good idea to bring snacks. The food provided is mostly local and delicious.

The safari drives were really amazing. And Stanley, our guide, made a great effort in finding all the cool animals.

Don't expect beautiful and luxurious accommodations. It's a cheap tour for people on a budget.
But expect a FIVE STAR adventure with amazing safari drives in the park and great service from the people!

welcome to the jungle
3/5

The safari itself has been fantastic. Good food, good driver/guide (Emmanuel), accomodation in tent as expected. We passed a very good time with the animals and the wild saving a lot of money. We only have had 2 misunderstanding with the hotel for the 1 night accomodation and for the way back to the airport, so we suggest to be preparated and maybe to organize yourself to save money and to avoid surprises. We suggest Twinkle star tour for your tanzanian trip.

Great tour, lots of impressive animals, unorganized schedule
4/5

We booked a 4-days tour through Masai Mara NP, Lake Naivasha with boat ride and Nakuro NP with 2 nights speeping in a tented camp and on night in a hotel.
lots of animals
great driver
unorganized scheduling
acceptable accomodations
respectful treatment of animals

It was a gorgeous journey and our driver, James, was one of the highlights beside the impressive animals! We saw nearly everything we dreamed of, elephants, lions, a cheetah, rhinos, different types of giraffes, a lot of different beautiful birds, hippos, monkeys, buffalos, antilopes... only the leopard we missed, but James gave his very best. We saw the most animals incredibly near, for example lions or giraffes with a distance of less than 5m or rhinos with less than 10m. But it never seemed to injure the animals freedom.
It was just a pitty, that we needed to discuss with different people so often about what be booked, what was included and how the plan for the tour was. For example we didn‘t have a walking/cycling tour, we didn‘t get 3l water per person per day but 1l instead, we didn‘t visit the Hells gate NP, we didn‘t see the promised baby elephant in an extra area, we didn‘t visit the giraffe center.
All in all, the tour was quite different than described. The tour was described very detailed with certain timeslots and in a specific order, but nothing matched to that schedule, which does actually not matter, but nobody told us so. So we expected for example to drive to the lake Naivasha, but arrived at the Masai Mara NP and wondered if we took the wrong tour bus by accident...
The booked accomodations were acceptable, espacially for the price we paid, ~400 US $ per person. The first one at the Masai Mara NP was a tented camp with a nice areal and quite delicious food. The second one at Nakuro NP was in the Hotel Citynax with very friendly personal. But in both accomodations it lasted ~20 mins until we get warm water in the shower. While the water in the hotel just got semi warm to still too cold ~20 celsius degrees. This hotel also didn‘t have the promised standard as descibed with „Gilden Palace Hotel or similar“.
Nevertheless it was a great experience and I would book another tour with your company again.

Super friendly staff and service minded. Very good safari experience
4/5

Staff was service minded and even picked us up in the airport a few days before the safari started. Safari was very good and we saw all the animals. Safari driver was very good at explaining about the animals, however he had a couple of technical issues with the car, which resulted in delays. Overall recommendable.
