Safe for Solo and Wonderful Adventure
5/5

I had a wonderful time doing a 2.5 day safari in Akagera national park. Eric was very responsive to my questions and helped me feel comfortable booking. He also worked to meet my financial and booking needs to make this solo trip happen for me. I felt safe and had outstanding accomodations on the trip. My guide helped me see the wildlife I had hoped to see and was very knowledgable about the bird population. This helped me finish the trip of a lifetime in Rwanda.

Trustable and Experienced
5/5

If you wanna have someone that knows the ground like no other... trust Hope Tours and Eric. We had to re arrange our entire holiday due to some visa issues elsewhere and he was nothing but helpful, fast and trustable. Then we realized everyone in Rwanda sightseeing spots know him and loves him!

Dont think twice, you will be in great hands and will learn a lot about the country

Great Experience Despite Limited Big Five Sightings
5/5

I’m satisfied with the overall experience, even though we only saw 2 out of the Big Five. It was still a one-of-a-kind experience for me.

Eric was very supportive from inquiry to booking, smooth and hassle-free. Germain, my guide, went the extra mile to track animals, especially the Big Five. Unfortunately, we only spotted two, but that’s part of the real safari experience, you can’t force wildlife to appear.

Overall, still highly recommended.

Thoughtful
5/5

As the only guest on that particular day, I was genuinely beyond my expectations with the experience. It was not only memorable, but also deeply impressive in a way that is difficult to put fully into words.

First, the length of the tour is extremely suitable for travellers who do not have much time to stay in Rwanda. It offers a rich and meaningful experience within a manageable timeframe, which makes it an excellent choice for visitors seeking both convenience and authenticity.

Second, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The landscape is filled with stunning terraced potato fields, freely grazing cows and sheep, and hardworking local farmers still carrying baskets, digging the soil, planting potatoes, and harvesting crops entirely by hand, without the presence of any machinery. The journey also takes you through unspoiled forest, where golden monkeys, birds, flowers, waterfalls, and streams create a truly magical natural setting. The weather was wonderfully cool, at around 20 degrees Celsius, with gentle sunshine and a refreshing breeze. The hike itself can be quite demanding, especially outside the dry season, but once you reach the summit, the reward is so extraordinary that all you can say is, “Wow.”

Third, I was especially touched by the helpfulness and dedication of the operator, the tour guide, and the porter. My operator, Eric, was incredibly thoughtful. He not only introduced me to the history of Volcanoes National Park, the protection efforts of both the government and local communities toward the gorillas, and some aspects of the culture in Musanze, but also prepared almost everything I needed for the trek. My tour guide, John, was equally outstanding. He was enthusiastic, highly knowledgeable about the volcanic mountains of the Albertine Rift, and, most importantly, exceptionally patient and encouraging whenever I felt tired during the climb.

Finally, after such a physically demanding day of trekking, lunch — or even an early dinner, depending on your pace — at a local restaurant in Musanze town was a wonderful reward for the senses. And one piece of advice: do not forget to order the potatoes, because the potatoes from this region truly deserve their reputation and are simply unforgettable.

Overall, this tour gave me far more than I had expected. It was beautiful, authentic, emotionally rewarding, and exceptionally well organised. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Rwanda.

Excellent experience, passionate and committed professional operator
5/5

Hope Tours operator drove long distances in the night arriving in Musanze at 1:00 am and still kept time to reach me at the hotel around 5:30 am in the morning. This is great! His detail briefing made my gorilla trekking easier and less scary😂. Getting me raincoat (had forgotten it) and a banana to help me no faint as I climb over 2800m high. In short, really appreciated the amazing experience from Hope Tours Rwanda.

An excellent tour guide who is flexible and a great communicator
5/5

Eric guided us on an excellent tour of his country where we hiked to see chimpanzees in Nyungwe National Park, golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park, bird spotting on Lake Kivu and explored Kigali. At all times Eric was helpful and flexible, enabling us to add activities not included in the tour. We chose this particular trip as it covered everything we wanted to see in Rwanda and it didn't disappoint.
The whole experience was easy to book and communication with Eric was excellent throughout.
We would highly recommend Hope Tours and would definitely contact them again should we return to Rwanda.

Eric is the most friendly, competent and empathetic guide you can imagine with a good humor as well

we went to the mountain gorillas and the chimps in Ruanda and spent a lot of time together. Eric was able to answer all our questions- sometimes stupid - questions and never lost patience and compassion about his homeland Rwanda.
