A once-in-a-lifetime experience with Imara
5/5

The safari experience with Imara Africa Safaris was simply perfect: their helpfulness in planning and advising us for the trip, the warm welcome at the airport, the quality of the hotels and lodges, and the efficiency and comfort of the transportation. The whole team made our vacation unforgettable.

We also want to highlight the excellence of our driver, Edward, who accompanied us throughout the week; knowledgeable, kind, and always incredibly quick in spotting all the Big Five—and so much more!

We couldn’t have hoped for a better experience, and honestly, it's hard to find any areas for improvement. We can only hope they maintain this high level of quality so we can go on another safari with them in the future.

Amazing!
5/5

I’m so glad to have booked with Imara for our wedding anniversary trip. They went above and beyond throughout the trip , starting with such a warm welcome by the entire team at the airport. Met Lewis and his lovely wife Wendy, we were gifted some goodies to be used during our safari. The team also went above and beyond on our arrival when our baggage was delayed and delivered them to us before we set out for our safari.

Similarly, having such an experienced safari driver was a plus, Patrick has over 18 years of experience which was evident by the way he drove us as close to the animals as possible giving us the best view. He also gave us great knowledge about each animal when sighted. He was very friendly and accommodating when we asked for anything. And found the perfect balance of being informative without being overbearing which is a fine balance many drivers won’t have.

Imara also planned some special surprises for us which made our trip even more memorable! We went for a more customised package thus covered Nairobi, Aberdare forest, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara. They managed to meet all our accommodation choices unlike other Safari companies we came across. Would recommend them to anyone and looking forward to book with them in the future to cover other parts of Africa :)

On the last day, we really wanted to try local food, the team went out of their way to take us to their local favourite spot. We were joined by Patrick, Lewis and Wendy for lunch which made it a wholesome experience.

From Kilimanjaro to the Mara, every moment with IMARA was crafted with care and heart.
5/5

It’s been just over a week since we got back from Kenya, and we’re still talking about it every day. This was our first time visiting, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience—thanks entirely to IMARA Africa Safaris and our incredible guide, Patrick.

We were a family of six, including our 6-year-old daughter, and from the moment we landed in Nairobi, everything was taken care of. Even when our flight was delayed by a day at the last minute, Lewis and his team managed to rearrange all our bookings and permits without any stress on us. When we finally arrived, they were there at the airport early in the morning to welcome us with warm smiles. That small gesture meant a lot and set the tone for the rest of the trip.

Our journey took us through Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and the Masai Mara. On our very first evening in Amboseli, we had one of those moments you never forget—a herd of elephants walking across the plains with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. The light was perfect, the air was still, and it honestly felt like we were inside a nature documentary.

We had some incredible wildlife sightings throughout the trip. At Lake Nakuru, we saw a pride of lions and lionesses feasting on a zebra. It was raw and powerful. Then in the Masai Mara, we came across a huge male lion devouring a freshly killed water buffalo. He was covered in mud and looked like he’d just come out of a serious fight. It was intense. We also got to witness a cheetah go for a kill—twice! Both times it missed, but watching it sprint across the savannah was absolutely thrilling.

Hell’s Gate was another highlight. We started with a peaceful bike ride through the park, surrounded by cliffs and wildlife. Our daughter loved the whispering walls—she couldn’t believe how her voice echoed across the canyon. After the ride, we hiked through the gorges, which was a real adventure. Narrow paths, bubbling hot springs, and towering rock walls led us to the spot that inspired The Lion King. Standing there, it really did feel like we were in the movie.

We also visited a Maasai village, which felt incredibly special. We got to interact with the community, learn about their traditions, and even join in a few dances. It was a beautiful and humbling experience.

Patrick, our guide, was the heart of this trip. He had an incredible eye for spotting animals and always knew where to be at the right time. He was patient with our daughter’s endless questions, shared so many stories with us, and made every drive feel like part of the adventure. He wasn’t just our guide—he became a friend.

The places we stayed were all comfortable and well chosen. One sweet moment that stood out was at Amboseli Sopa Lodge, where we spotted a tiny dik-dik right behind our cottage. It was such a quiet, lovely surprise.

This trip was more than just a holiday—it was an experience we’ll carry with us forever. If you’re thinking of doing a safari in Kenya, go with IMARA. And if you can, ask for Patrick. He made all the difference.

Surreal experience in Kenya with IMARA Africa Safari!
5/5

We had an amazing experience travelling with IMARA during our recent trip to Kenya. We were a group of 5 adults (including two senior citizens) and 1 kid (6-year-old). The trip was well curated by Lewis and covered places with breathtaking landscapes and various wild animals. A seven-day packed itinerary covered the key national parks and destinations like Amboseli National Park (could view Mt. Kilimanjaro from the park), Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and of course the majestic Masai Mara. The childhood memories of the story and movie of Lion King was also refreshed during our trip to Hell’s Gate National Park as we could visualise the view from Pride Rock and the gorge where Mufasa fell to his death.

Due to unavoidable flight cancellation by airline at the last moment our entire trip had to be shifted by a day. This required all our hotel bookings and game drives passes to be pushed out by a day accordingly. Lewis went out of the way to adjust our bookings in the same hotels, making sure our trip did not get affected. The entire team of IMARA was also present at the airport when our flight landed early morning in Nairobi to welcome us, which was heartwarming.

Further our trip wouldn’t be as memorable if it wasn’t for Patrick, our guide for the trip. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly the right places to be at the parks and with some luck we were able to even see not so common things. He had thorough knowledge, not only about wildlife but other things in Kenya as well. With his excellent communication skills, we were able to understand a lot of things during our trip and equally able to ask him questions. He was friendly and respectful and bonded with our family very well.

For all of us it was our first trip to Kenya and quite a memorable one. If we plan any other trip in Africa, especially East Africa, IMARA would definitely be our first choice!

Everyone at Imara was fantastic and made the experience unforgettable for us!
5/5

Our Safari with Imara was amazing, we were blessed to see so much incredible wildlife up close. What made this so special was the care that Lewis and the team Imara put into making the itinerary to make sure each day was packed with action. The best part by far was our guide Edward! He added so much to the experience through his knowledge and experience. Because he knew all the right places to be (and with some luck) we got to see things that are not commonly seen. He also made sure that we were having a good time when we were traveling from park to park. We had great conversations and he was able to answer all of the questions we had, not just about wildlife but life in Kenya and beyond. When we had a bit of extra time he set us up to do an additional National Park to ensure that we were able to make the most of our time. Overall the experience was 10/10 and we hope to come back and do it again soon!

Imara Africa Safaris – Exceptional from Start to Finish
5/5

We booked the Lakes & Plains Safari (with balloon ride!) with Imara Africa Safaris, and what a decision that was. As someone who organises surprises often, this one for my partner's birthday was probably the most ambitious — and most successful.

Imara made it easy. Every lodge, transfer, and activity ran smoothly. The balloon ride over the Mara was surreal. And I’ll never forget the moment we were met with big smiles and surprise gifts on our very first day. Joseph, our guide, was simply brilliant — a walking encyclopaedia of wildlife.

It’s rare to see this level of care and passion in travel companies. I’d recommend Imara to anyone — whether it’s your first safari or your fifth.

Amazing school trip
5/5

I organised a school trip with a group of 17 students with Imara Afrika Safaris and it was such a wonderfull week !
Wendy, Lewis and Yan were very welcoming and professional all along the trip, they always made sure that everything was going as we wanted and made changes if we needed to.
We did some camping wich was so fun and also stayed in 2 amazing and comfortable lodges. The food was really nice, we were in an overlander truck that allowed us to always stay together and made the driving enjoyable ! They also organised a day with overlanders in masai Mara so that we have the full safari experience.

When organising this trip I had so many options of safari tour operators and I'm am glad that I chose to go with Wendy and Lewis, I would defenetly recommend Imara Afrika safaris !

Thanks again for this amazing experience !

Excellent
5/5

One of the most significant thing was that everything we wanted to see was present, we went to Amboseli National Park with my wife and our friends and we do not regret our visit. This was the best trip I’ve had this year.
