Amazing Zimbabwe - 4 types of safari in one trip
I had travelled with this company before but my partner Janet had not. We were both taking early retirement and I wanted to surprise her with something special. They put together an amazing itinerary, kept me informed and made everything happen so smoothly (doesn't always happen in Africa!), even keeping the secret from Janet.
First worry from Janet was how safe is Zimbabwe. There were no worries as we were so well looked after by guides and camp staff. Even the transfers ran without problems.
Imbabala on the banks of the Zambezi was a treat. Moonlight suppers under the stars, amazing game drives and river cruises - even woken from a siesta one afternoon to see a herd of elephants crossing the river. Camp Hwange was totally different, - same wonderful hospitality and food but rugged terrain and close encounters with lion and elephants in particular. Our third camp was again in Hwange but a walking safari with Leon Varley. We tracked leopard, lion, hyena and elephant. An exhilarating experience to be on the ground with the animals. An amazing guy with many incredible stories to tell around the camp fire. The last stop was on an island in Lake Kariba. Safari's from a boat! getting very close to buffalo that would not be possible on land. And the most amazing sunsets, once with an old bull elephant way out in the water feeding on soft reeds with the sun setting behind him which will stay in my memory forever.
In this part of Africa game is almost guaranteed but the difference is the feeling that these special moments with the game are yours alone. There are not dozens of vehicles surrounding a lion unlike the Masai Mara. Mostly it is just your truck and the wildlife.
I cannot recommend the Zambezi Safari Company highly enough for arranging a sensational trip for us, not just the wildlife but superb organisation, so much so that we could totally focus on relaxation and adventure.

A dream holiday with first class service!
We have just returned from a holiday of a lifetime! Right from the beginning - our experience with Liz and Char from Zambezi Safari & Travel Company Ltd was efficient and professional. As we were traveling with our seven and five year old, they listened to our brief and did all they could to ensure that it was a safe and relaxing holiday for the whole family. The accommodation at the Vic Falls Hotel with the inter-leading rooms was stunning and the activities at the camp, where we stayed on Lake Kariba, was just perfect for two little boys who love fishing and game viewing. Liz recommended a wonderful camp called Musango Safari Camp where the staff did everything they could to ensure that we had a great time. The owner and the guides were also very knowledgeable which made the experience very interesting. In our opinion, nothing beats an African Safari and we look forward to planning our next break.

Having found Zambezi Safari Company more than 10 years ago, we have travelled with them on many safari trips over the years. They have never let us down and their itineraries are always impeccably planned and highly detailed.
Of course wildlife is not at all predictable but they are always able to recommend the best places to visit, at the best times, to maximise your game viewing potential. The guides and safari companies they use within the countries are always of the best, using professional and knowledgeable people who make you feel at home.
The staff at Zambezi are really friendly and happy to listen to your own ideas as well as giving advice and together we have always come up with the perfect holiday for us.
We have travelled to Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Congo, South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe with them and are very much looking forward to our next adventure with them in 2015!

Great planning and service guarantees a wonderful trip
We used Zambezi (Liz) 9 years ago for a Botswana/Zambia trip and there was never any doubt that we would use them for this Madagascar/Uganda trip. The same qualities that we experienced before shown through again. They listen carefully to what you want and then make suggestions based upon your interests. Liz thoroughly explained the various options and made suggestions which enabled us to decide which places to visit, which hotels/lodges to stay at and how long to stay. The on the ground service was impeccable. We were picked up and delivered when promised and the guides were first class both in game viewing but also as friendly, knowledgeable and interesting travel companions. The hotels (usually boutique b&bs) and the game lodges were all outstanding.

Great Recommendations and Communications
Contacted Chris Worden not knowing he is an agent for Zambezi Safari (found him on tripadvisor and had a question for him about Vic Falls and area). I was impressed with his communication skills and timely
replies. Learning that he is a guide and safari consultant, we decided to use his services and had a great time in Zimbabwe with his recommendations and bookings of transportation and camps. He greeted us on our first day and visited us on our last for morning coffee, which we enjoyed. Wouldn't hesitate to use Chris' services again.

Gorilla Experience/Eco Forest Experience
The 6 night trip to the Congo was a great experience. 2 camps - Ngaga and Lango. Ngaga Camp is well into the jungle, so 2 hours by plane from Brazzaville and then a 4 hour road transfer. The camp accommodation is built on the style of pygmy homes. Very comfortable, well appointed with all amenities. Food was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful. You get 1 trip per day to see the gorillas and spend 1 hour with them. Walking is relatively flat and easy through dense vegetation and trees. Early wake up call at 0500 each day!!!!! Transfer to Lango Camp takes 4 hours. This is an Eco-experience with forest walks, river trips and "bais" walks. Bais are shallow water areas rich in minerals which the animals love to come to to drink. Also a fine camp, very similar to Ngaga and with the same service. Well worth the expense. Pick the correct time of year to go, avoid the wet season.

Efficient, professional and excellent attention to detail!
Having not used Zambezi Safari & Travel Co before my partner and I were aware that things don't always run to plan in Africa and we were prepared for a few hiccoughs, we couldn't have been further off the mark!
Every event Zambezi Safari organised for us ran like clock work. From micro-lighting over the Falls,a day off excitment filled white water rafting, swimming in Devil's Pool (overlooking Victoria Falls) to a magnificent sundowner cruise on the Zambezi.
When we return to Africa ( which we will!) We will gladly leave all the organisation to Zambezi Safari & Travel.

A Christmas Holiday to remember
My wife and I have just recently returned from a safari set up by your company. We absolutely loved every minute of it and was sad that it had to end. We would like to thank you all and in particular Chris Worden for giving us a holiday to always remember. Every detail was meticulously planned and catered for from beginning to end and every part of the journey went so smoothly. We met by reps at each leg of the trip and the staff at the camps Linkwasha and Musango were fantastic. The stay at Illala Lodge was out of this world and would go back tomorrow. We were a bit worried about the time of year concerning game viewing and heat but there was no need to worry as we saw fantastic wildlife and even a lion kill and we survived the heat of the Zambezi Valley by plenty of sundowners and a copious amount of drinks and good food. Even just driving through the bush and bird spotting was brilliant and the friendliness and knowledge of the guides was second to none. Thanks for the holiday Jim and Pat McGinness

Fabulous from start to finish.
Zambezi Safari & Travel Co was recommended to me by a dear friend who had experienced an amazing holiday herself in Zambia. She is deaf and has a severe visual impairment but Zambezi organised such a wonderful holiday for her with some very special memories. We are a family of 4 with two teenage girls and safari first-timers. As soon as I spoke to Fi Thompson, the Kenya specialist, I knew that she would find us the perfect safari experience. We talked at length about what we wanted from the holiday and she recommended 3 different locations each offering totally different experiences. Having grown up in Kenya, Fi knew so much about the different areas and camps available and when we had finally made our decision to go ahead she even called one of the camp owners at his home to secure the booking. She always responded promptly to all my queries, any time of the day and I really felt in safe hands. When the troubles in Kenya started to affect some holiday areas, Fi was so reassuring but suggested changing our route home slightly so that we didn't go via Mombassa. During the holiday, every pick-up, flight and transfer went so smoothly and we really felt valued by the wonderful people in Kenya for realising that the majority of Kenya is no-where near any problems or incidents and that it really is safe to travel there. We have some amazing photos and stories to share and I really can't thank Fi and Zambezi enough for making it all happen.

Absolutely The Best
That was my third African adventure planned via Zambezi Safari & Travel, with a fourth being planned. Liz Ferreira was my travel agent each time. This was The Best travel planning and execution experience I've had. Liz was professional, very patient, flexible, knowledgeable, encouraging, pleasant, cooperative, informative, and much, much more. She would respond at all hours, even on weekends to my queries and concerns. During the trip, all went smoothly and as promised, from airport pickups to rooms to game drives to flights. Absolutely the best travel agent. My third safari was with a small group and we all agreed and praised Liz several times during the trip as things went so well. Char at Zambezi also was responsive and helpful, always.
