This safari with Africa Barefoot Safaris was truly the adventure of a lifetime.”
5/5

Our 4-day trip to Masai Mara and Nairobi was nothing short of magical! From the very start, everything was planned with such care that we could simply enjoy every moment.

At the Mara, our guide Moris was exceptional — not only deeply knowledgeable about the flora and the Big 5, but also someone who knew exactly how to make each game drive special. With his guidance, we were lucky enough to witness the Great Migration in action, complete with a lion hunt, and even spotted a leopard — moments that felt straight out of a wildlife documentary!

The stay at Olive Bush Camp added to the magic. Waking up in the heart of the savannah, enjoying a bush breakfast under the wide African sky, and returning to such warm hospitality every evening made the trip even more memorable. Being vegetarians, we were initially concerned about food, but to our delight everything was thoughtfully prepared and well taken care of.

A heartfelt thanks to Prajwal from Africa Barefoot Safaris for curating the perfect package for us and ensuring every little detail was smooth and stress-free. This was our very first African safari, and it has truly given us memories for a lifetime.

Highly recommend Africa Barefoot Safaris for anyone dreaming of a real, soulful safari experience!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kenya Safari Review – A Trip of a Lifetime!
5/5

I recently returned from a Kenya safari, and I can honestly say it was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.

🦁 Wildlife and Game Drives

The game drives were spectacular. We visited the Masai Mara, Amboseli, and Lake Nakuru, and each offered something unique. The Big Five were all there – lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos – along with countless giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and exotic birds. Our guide Patrick was incredibly knowledgeable and had a deep respect for the animals and environment.

We could only the see migration across the river because Patrick made it happen.

🌄 Scenery and Landscapes

Kenya’s landscapes are breathtaking. The wide open plains of the Mara during the Great Migration felt like something out of a documentary. Mount Kilimanjaro looming over Amboseli was another unforgettable sight.

Masai mara during the rains in the evening was also a spectacular sight.

🛖 Accommodation and Hospitality

We stayed in a mix of luxury tented camps and lodges. All were comfortable, clean, and beautifully integrated into the environment. Waking up to the sounds of nature – birds chirping and distant roars – was magical. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. Kenyan hospitality is second to none.

🌍 Cultural Experience

Meeting the Maasai tribe people was a highlight. It added such depth and perspective to the trip, reminding us that this isn’t just a tourist destination – it’s home to real communities.

📸 Photography Opportunities

Whether you’re a pro or just using your phone, the photographic opportunities are endless. Sunsets, animals in action, dramatic skies, and vibrant people – every moment was worth capturing.

Thanks Africa Barefoot for planning this wonderful trip for us.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Extraordinary Masai Mara Safari – Perfectly Curated by Africa Barefoot Safaris

Our 4-day safari at Basecamp Masai Mara was nothing short of spectacular, and the entire experience was seamlessly curated by Prajwal, founder of Africa Barefoot Safaris. From the very first enquiry to the moment we were dropped back at Nairobi airport, every aspect of our journey was executed with warmth, precision, and genuine personal care.

During the pre-trip planning stage, Prajwal was incredibly responsive and detailed in her communication. Every query—whether about logistics, camp facilities, game drives, or travel formalities—was answered patiently and promptly. It gave us immense confidence even before we landed in Kenya that we were in capable hands.

We were also celebrating our wedding anniversary during the safari, and what happened mid-tour was something straight out of a dream. Without revealing too much in advance, Prajwal and our incredible guide Joseph surprised us with a private sundowner with champagne in the middle of the jungle, set beautifully against the foothills as the African sun dipped below the horizon. It was intimate, romantic, and unforgettable. Later at Basecamp, they arranged a beautiful anniversary cake along with a traditional Masai tribal dance, which was deeply cultural and incredibly moving. It is rare to see such thoughtful personal touches woven so naturally into a safari experience.

Our guide Joseph truly deserves special mention. He wasn’t just a guide—he was a storyteller, wildlife expert, protector, and friend throughout the journey. From our airport pickup in Nairobi to our drop-off, he ensured we were always comfortable and safe. His knowledge of animal behaviour and tracking is simply outstanding. Because of his expertise and relentless effort, we were fortunate to witness the complete Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—along with giraffes, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, serval cats, jackals and countless bird species.

What made the experience even more special was that Joseph took us through different regions of the Masai Mara every single day, ensuring varied landscapes, fresh sightings, and unique experiences during each game drive. No two drives felt repetitive—each day felt like a brand-new adventure.

Our stay at Basecamp Masai Mara was equally exceptional—eco-luxury at its finest, nestled right inside nature with stunning views, comfort, warm hospitality, and the sounds of the wild all around us at night - though food could have been better. Waking up to sunrise game drives and returning to the peaceful energy of the camp was pure magic.

What sets Africa Barefoot Safaris apart is not just their ability to organise a trip—it’s the personal involvement of Prajwal, the passion of guides like Joseph, and the heart with which they operate. This wasn’t a commercial tour—it felt like traveling with people who genuinely care about creating memories for you.

This safari will remain one of the most treasured experiences of our lives. If you are considering Masai Mara, do not look anywhere else—Africa Barefoot Safaris is hands-down the best choice.

Five stars are simply not enough. Highly recommended beyond words. 🌍🦁🥂

Safari’s curated to perfection. African Barefoot Safaris: “ Pure safari magic”
5/5

Our first visit to Masai Mara was an absolutely magical experience curated by African barefoot safari team. The vast landscapes, abundant wildlife sightings, and up-close moments with nature exceeded all expectations. What truly stood out was the quality of guiding — knowledgeable, patient, and deeply connected to the wilderness, making each safari both thrilling and educational. Patrick was outstanding - his understanding of the topography, connections and network to reach places where wildlife was sighted in abundance, and most important his demeanour and perseverance.

The tour was planned flawlessly, allowing us to focus entirely on soaking in the beauty and rawness of the Mara. We return with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for Africa’s iconic wilderness.

Highly recommend African barefoot team for anyone looking for an authentic and well-curated Masai Mara experience.

ABS plans your experience, not just book a tour
5/5

It all went exactly as promised. The promise was that you will fall in love with Serengeti, with Tanzania, with Africa, with the people. The plan only escalated the experience from day 1 onwards and yet gave time to decompress at the end. Superbly and reasonably planned and executed by the team @Africa Barefoot Safaris, primarily Prajwal who ensures that your needs are incorporated in planning yet leaving space for her years of experience to shine through. Her guides, this time Wilson, are full of magic tricks. Literally like Santa, you place a request, and the gift is delivered. A bush meal with Girraffes, done, a pack of Cheetas hunting, done, a lioness and cubs less than 3 months, done, variety of birds, done, a large herd of Elephants, done, lions and leopard on tree, done. The lodges/camps were manned by locals who have so much love for you and it penetrates your heart right from the moment you reach. Superb hospitality, great safari experience, amazing planning, great prices.

More Than a Safari-A Masterclass in the Serengeti!
5/5

If you are a true wildlifer, you know that dozens of species and hundreds of birds are only half the story. The other half is the soul of the people who take you there. My experience with ABS in the Serengeti was, quite simply, the "icing on the cake" of my traveling life.
The Guide (The Serengeti Whisperer):
Our guide, Wilson, is a legend in the making. He doesn't just drive; he possesses a "predatory" eye for detail, spotting things most would miss in their dreams. Even when faced with the personal crisis of having his valuables stolen, Wilson remained unshakable. His resilience was incredible—he recovered his belongings without ever letting the quality of our safari slip.
The ABS Standard:
Tactical Logistics: Every move was systematic and seamless.
The Gear: Our vehicle was a powerhouse, custom-built for the undulating and rugged Tanzanian terrain.
The Comfort: We stayed in excellent tents and ate five-star "yummy" meals that fueled our long days on the plains.
The X-Factor:
What truly sets ABS apart is the human connection. The love and genuine affection we received from the tent staff surpassed any wildlife tour we’ve ever taken. You don’t just feel like a guest; you feel like family.
If you are visiting Tanzania, do not settle for anything less than ABS. They don't just show you the forest; they help you feel its heartbeat. Highly recommended!
