Wild for Game made this a trip of a lifetime
We took the 11-day Northern Explorer Trip with Wild for Game in August of 2025. From start to finish it was amazing. Not only did we see an astonishing amount of diverse wildlife, but it was the quality of the sightings that were off the graph.
I’ll start with our phenomenal guide Marks. His vast experience, deep knowledge of the areas we visited and keen interest in the client’s experience makes him an exemplary safari guide. He would listen to the calls of the animals at night and develop a plan on how and when to see them best the next day. His tracking skills are ridiculously good, and we were often the first or only ones at lion prides, cheetahs and leopard (with or without a kill). He is very aware the getting the best position and sunlight to view and photograph the animals. I hope my photos here prove that.
Our chef Pula was fantastic, putting together meal after meal (including soups and desserts) of great food. He even had snacks/tea/coffee/hot chocolate for all game drive breaks. His ability to plan and cook a variety of cuisines with just a fire is impressive. He always made ample amounts; we could never finish all that he made.
Chucks, our cabin steward and MD & MT (our waiters) were super as well. They always greeted us on return from game drives with enthusiasm, a cold towel and a refreshing cold drink. They made sure our cabins were clean & orderly. The hot water bottle in bed each night made the nighttime really cozy.
My advice, don’t try to do this trip as a self-drive. Even if you are an experienced camper, there are no signs in these vast areas to navigate around (even with GPS), the terrain can be very challenging (rocky roads, objects to avoid, very deep sand and in places marshy water. We saw many breakdowns with others. On top of that, looking for wild game is not for amateurs. Driving around just searching does not work, is inefficient and following others is not reliable. You are there for a limited number of days, make them count by hiring professionals, well worth the money and you’ll have a better time.

Extraordinary safari experience
We had a great experience with Wild For Game Safaris. Lucas, the owner, greeted us at the airport in Maun where we took our flight to Xakanaxa airstrip to start our safari. From the very beginning it felt it was a high-end experience. Max, our guide, was waiting for us and took us on a safari before arriving in our camp. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. We felt very comfortable and well taken care of throughout the whole trip by Max and the team. The camp amenities were nice, clean and comfortable. Besides the guide, a chef and two assistants were always taking care of the 3 of us. The food was absolutely delicious (entrance, main course and dessert, and even cakes in the afternoon), we had a hot shower available whenever we wanted, a hot water bag put in our beds every night, so many details! And always greeted with a smile. The wildlife encounters are next level too, we saw so many different animals! On the last day at the Chobe Riverfront, where we saw groups of people on boat excursions, we had a private speedboat arranged for us. After that, we had arranged a transfer to the Zimbabwe border, so Max took us there, helped us with the paperwork, and made sure our transfer in Zimbabwe was there to pick us up.

unforgettable animal safari
We had a grate time in Botswana. Our guide Lucas is very professional. He knows how to find the animals. We learned a lot about different animals from him. The service of his team is 5 stars. We felt very comfortable during the whole trip. The chef is a magician. Everyday, we got different delicious food and felt like in a good restaurant.
Highly recommend.

Brilliant experience led by a remarkable owner/guide: passion, knowledge, attention to detail
Lucas & his affable. skilled team made this experience a life highlight. Glamping at its best: comfy warm real beds, soft towels, hot water bottles at night, hot showers, tent ‘ensuite’ , creative & delicious food.
Botswana is the Garden of Eden for critters & Lucas’ knowledge & passion for wildlife was as non stop as the number of animals we saw. Add in humour, warmth, generousity of spirit …. what more can we say. Simply unforgettable !

10 Day Northern Highlight Trip
Our safari with Lucas Tshupo was nothing short of incredible. Just from our first morning drive, he was able to quickly track two male lions we heard near our camp the night before—his instinct for finding wildlife was truly remarkable. Lucas knew exactly where to go and when to wait, making every game drive—day and night—feel like we were in the right place at the right time. Lucas is a genuinely kind person who made us feel safe and well taken care of throughout.
Wild For Game's mobile camping crew also deserves praise—each time we arrived at a new location, everything—from tents to amenities—was already beautifully arranged and ready for us to settle in. Their thoughtful service created a stress-free rhythm that let us focus on soaking in the experience.
The food was absolutely outstanding. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and far beyond what you'd expect in the middle of the bush. I'm going to miss some of those meals!
Lucas crafted our itinerary to take us through Mormei, Khwai, and Savute, before wrapping up in Victoria Falls. Each reserve and park offered its own distinct landscapes and wildlife, making every stop feel fresh and different. Ending in Victoria Falls was the perfect finish—and the accommodation Lucas arranged for us there was absolutely top-notch.
Hands down, this trip was a 5/5 experience—and a memory we'll never forget.

Safari that dreams are made of!
10/10 experience with Wild for Game Safaris. Our family of four had an amazing time with Lucas and his team. The safari itinerary was a perfect mix of parks/concessions including Moremi, Kwai and Savuti over 8 days. We saw more wildlife than we could have hoped for, in no small part thanks to Lucas’ wealth of experience as a guide. He made every game drive an adventure and his depth of knowledge of Bostwana’s parks and animals is second to none. It was such a pleasure to experience this beautiful country with a local guide who has such deep respect and passion for the land and wildlife. We saw every animal on our list- and then some - including two male lions patrolling at sunrise, a den of hyenas with their young, wild dogs on a hunt and a leopard with her kill. We even saw a honey badger!
The camping was luxury- hot showers on demand, amazing food and wine (we still don’t know how the chef baked perfect cakes at camp!!) comfortable bedding in roomy tents and extra little touches like hot water bottles waiting in our beds for the chilly winter nights.
Wild for Game is truly a master class in mobile camping safaris. We are already planning our next trip with them and would not hesitate to recommend them for your ultimate Botswana safari. Thank you Lucas!!!
