Our 15-day Ethiopia tour with Ethio Top Land Tours was flawless. Perfectly paced, excellent driver, great efforts and arrangements throughout the past two weeks. Highlights: Lalibela at sunrise and volcano in Semera. Warm, professional, great value. Ethiopia is magical — thank you for making it unforgettable!

A tour that I would recommend😊
5/5

This is a great journey worth taking at least once a life time … so special, specific, also enjoyable! Yes a bit tough especially requires good health and physical capabilities… but once you adapt to it you would love to stay there for longer periods! So many different experiences that you might not be seeing anywhere else, cultures, peoples and animals, when you not only seeing them face to face but also talk to them or even hand in hand …
As a whole, lovely places, lovely peoples and lovely cultures. No regrets! 😊

Memorable and authentic experience
5/5

We were thrilled our experience visiting the Omo Valley region of Ethiopia. Our guide, Lamesgn, was attentive, knowledgeable, and informative throughout the trip. When we needed to adapt the itinerary due to holidays, both our guide and the company were excellent at adjusting quickly and still delivering an authentic and memorable experience. I would highly recommend Ethiopia Too Land Tours to anyone looking for a unique way to experience the cultures and natural beauty of Ethiopia.

Ethio Top Land Tours was excellent, flexible and very accommodating
5/5

I had the best day tour in Addis Ababa, thanks to Ethio Land Tours. Although my location was a bit challenging, they were able to pick me up. The itinerary was discussed at the start of the tour and was tailor-fitted based on my preferences and the experience I was intending to have. Their flexibility was topnotch. I like how they were honest and pure in taking me to good vendors, shops and resto offering local price. I feel cared for and at home. It’s just like going to the city with friends. I also appreciate how they observed and adjusted everything based on what I like and preferred to do. I couldn’t ask for more.

Outstanding experience
5/5

I had an incredible experience with Ethio Top Land Tours, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. My tour and driver, Eshetu and Tamerate, truly went above and beyond in every way.

I booked the tour just two hours beforehand and was immediately contacted, which set the tone for how responsive and professional the company is. Communication was excellent from start to finish. It was clear, prompt, and reliable, making the entire experience completely stress-free. They were extremely knowledgeable about Ethiopian history, culture, and daily life, and their English was excellent, making everything easy to follow and engaging. I was able to see and experience so much of the culture in a very genuine and thoughtful way.

Even on days when many businesses were closed, they went the extra mile to find me a SIM card, helped install it, and made sure everything was working so I could stay connected without any issues. The driving was smooth and safe, and the car was very comfortable. Throughout the tour, they were punctual, dependable, and clearly experienced, which added a strong sense of trust and reliability.

The experience started beautifully with a traditional coffee-making and drinking ceremony, setting the tone for cultural immersion, and ended with witnessing the Epiphany / Timkat festival, which was unforgettable and deeply moving. The itinerary felt well-paced, flexible, and tailored rather than rushed or generic.

Overall, the service provided was exceptional and offered excellent value for money. This was more than just a tour. It was a meaningful, well-organized cultural experience. I would highly recommend Ethio Top Land Tours to anyone visiting Ethiopia and looking for authenticity, professionalism, and genuine care.

An incredibly accommodating private tour experience.
4/5

We arranged a private tour for three friends and were accompanied by our guide Lamesgn and our driver Abel. Overall both were excellent. We toured the tribes of the Omo Valley, which is pretty off the beaten path from other tourist areas of Ethiopia. With that came less infrastructure and less than comfortable accommodations, which was to be expected. We visited several tribes including the Dorze and Hamar tribes. The Dorze visit was the most engaging and interactive and fun, though having us dress up in tribal clothes was unnecessary. We spent a night camping with the Hamar tribe, which was a truly authentic experience (not so comfortable) but authentic nonetheless and the type of experience we asked for. Since it was Christmas night (Jan. 7) we experienced the sacrificing of a goat, and had dinner with the tribe before hunkering down in individual tents. We also visited the Karo and Mursi tribes which were interesting visits though more organized for tourists. One of the best experiences was a visit to the Hawasa fish market, where we learned about how the locals live off of the river and learned to make Ethiopian sushi. This experience happened because Lamesgn listened to our wanting more authentic experiences not built for tourists. We also got to watch a Hamar tribe bull jumping ceremony.

We were not thrilled with the food options for most lunches and dinners as these were at hotels. The menu was always the same, with mostly westerner options. That might be what many want but we wanted authentic Ethiopian, which we got on the last night in Arba Minch - a fun local place with a great vibe!

Most hotels we stayed in were ok - maybe a level 2/3. Electricity and water were spotty, which was to be expected in such a non-touristy area. The last night in Arba Minch we asked to change hotels to the Haile Resort, which was heaven on earth after 6 days of “roughing it”.

At all times Lamesgn did his best to make sure we were happy and comfortable and made changes to the itinerary as needed. Southern Ethiopia is dusty, bumpy, and filled with flies but as a well traveled group we could not have asked for a better guide and driver. This area of Ethiopia is very interesting and beautiful in areas. Overall a good experience but it’s not going to be for everyone.
