Originally from the USA, Mary has been living, working and traveling in Africa for most of the past three decades. She is especially fond of East and southern Africa, and it is here – especially in Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa and Namibia – where she has spent most of her time. Mary has authored and co-authored many Africa travel guides for Lonely Planet, including ‘Tanzania’, ‘South Africa’, ‘Lesotho & Swaziland’, ‘Africa’, ‘Southern Africa’, ‘East Africa’, ‘Watching Wildlife Southern Africa’, ‘Watching Wildlife East Africa’ and ‘Mozambique’, and also has written for various newspapers and magazines.
