The experience was a wonderful adventure, filled with beautiful nature, animals and people.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. The day trip to the cheetah center was unnecessary. But the safari outings were fantastic.

Wonderful safari experience, memories for life
5/5

Shaun at Moriti organized this excellent safari that gave us many memorable memories that will last us a lifetime. William Cook was our tour guide who was an attentive host, a widely knowledgable commentator on wildlife, history and geography of the area, and a good friend by the end of the trip. We were lucky and privileged to see the big-5 on our first day in Kruger National Park, but the leopard tortoise (one of the little-5) stole the show. Our experiences with Jessica the Hippo, Elephant Whispers, getting close encounters with cheetah and leopard at Tshukudu were some of the many memorable ones from the trip. Andrew at Tshukudu was an excellent guide and at Klaserie we were impressed by the knowledge of our hosts Judy and Bruce, not to mention John's tracking skills (too bad we missed the lions, but have to save something for next time, eh?!). The accommodation were comfortable and the food delicious with the highlight being the excellent dinner at Westlodge in Graskop. Thank you for the wonderful trip!

Amazing experience!
5/5

We could not have asked for a better safari experience. Moriti completely took care of us from start to finish. We saw incredible wildlife (lions at a watering hole at night, juvenile giraffes sparring for dominance, a baby elephant charging a rhino, a buffalo charging a lion, a honey badger, cheetahs, zebras, widebeests, buffalo, rhinos, etc.) and stayed at very comfortable lodges. The food cooked by Lindsey was out of this world. We booked this tour thinking it was a once in a lifetime experience, and we are already trying to figure out how to go back.

Heavenly....
5/5

This was a trip of a lifetime. Shaun our guide/owner surpassed all expectations. His recommendations for a bread and breakfast before the safari was perfect. Our lodging at Camp George were amazing. Comfortable and private room/ facility. All 5 of us on the trip were extremely pleased with accommodations and our chef Lindsay's scrumptious meals. Shaun not only explains the flora and fauna, but his obviously love of the land made the experience so intimate. His tracking ability was insane, how he hears animals from far away was truly amazing. One reason we went with Moriti was from a previous post. Yes, when you leave you feel like you've gained a new friend. I can't wait to plan another trip to see my friend Shaun and all the Klaserie animals.

Professionalism from start to finish
5/5

Our experience with Moriti was fantastic, right from our initial inquiry through to being dropped at the airport after the safari. We did the 6 day panoramic route and Kruger safari tour and couldn't fault a thing.

Shaun (Moriti owner/manager) was terrific to deal with via email when planning and booking the tour, and usefully for those travelling from overseas has arranged a fee-free bank transfer for payments. Our tour guide was William Cook who works with Shaun (William also does private air safaris). You couldn't ask for a nicer guy or a more professional guide - knowledgeable on the history of the area and the wildlife, had everything very well planned but always consulted us on what we wished we to, and just an all round helpful, polite guy. Great company for the safari.

Adequate time is allowed for in the schedule to relax and enjoy the sights without being rushed off to the next destination, like some tours. All the accommodation Moriti book is very nice. Small establishments that know Shaun and William well, giving it a very welcoming, at-home feeling.

The private game reserve and safari in particular was our favourite part. Totally private (just the 2 of us plus the staff - no other tourists or safari vehicles!) in a beautiful setting, and again with super professional staff in the form of the ranger/guide, tracker, chef and manager.

This tour was worth every cent, even more, and we're so glad we booked with Moriti. They are by far the best tour operators we've ever experienced including previous tours in Africa and other parts of the world. We can't recommend them highly enough.

An Unbelievable Experience Made Even Better by Shaun Taylor!!
5/5

Armed with only knowing we wanted a private safari for our family, I feel unbelievably lucky, grateful and even blessed that I stumbled upon Moriti Private Safaris. The experience my family and I had is one that I need a dozen thesauruses to even begin to describe.

Throughout the entire pre-trip process, Shaun was always responsive to my myriad emails with which I deluged him! I was completely confident that our trip was in good hands when we landed in Johannesburg. What an understatement that was! Shaun made the entire trip - not just the safari part- an amazing, laughter-filled, personal experience!

Making cheetahs purr, being mock charged by elephants, kissing a hippo, seeing all types of amazing animals (the big and the small) including the elusive ones (leopard & civet), understanding tracks and what animals made them, getting to knowing the flora (and that elephants LOVE raisin bush!) was only PART of our adventure!

The camps where we stayed were fantastic but Nyeleti was outstanding. Completely private, no one else around, and absolutely beautiful! Shaun is the only guide who has access and it is truly special. And have I mentioned the food? The chef (chef! not cook!) that works with Shaun is brilliant!

Shaun went above and beyond for us, as I'm sure he does for everyone. Shaun will do what he can to make sure you see as many animals as possible, but not at the expense of the animals. His knowledge of the animals and experience in the bush is only exceeded by his absolute love and respect for all creatures.

I could fill pages with this review but in sum, this was an amazing experience made even better by having Shaun with us. We started as strangers and ended as family. If you leave this experience without becoming friends with Shaun, you're doing it wrong.

We will be back and we will only use Moriti!

An amazing trip to remember.
5/5

The seven days we spent with Shaun, as he took us around both Cape Town and Kruger, were incredible. He brought us to the most spectacular places around the city and shared stories along the way, so every moment felt fun and educational.

The real magic, though, was on safari. Animals are animals, and you can't control what you're going to see - we knew this the whole time. But as soon as we drove into the park, we were stopping for giraffe, zebra, warthog... and that was just the beginning. The Nyeleti camp is quiet and serene, and the whole time we felt like we were the only people for miles and miles. Because the place isn't packed with other vehicles, we were able to take our time on sightings, staying with a pride of lions or a pack of wild dogs for over an hour at a time. I can’t believe how lucky we were to experience Kruger this way.

Shaun is an expert on animal behavior, and is really good at explaining things in layman's terms. He is also an expert on native plants, and told us all about how the plants and animals interact, and the subtle adaptations that make different forms of life support each other in the bush.

Shaun’s sparkling personality made our trip unforgettable. I cannot emphasize enough how awesome it was to travel with this hilarious, fun-loving expert of a guide. We laughed our way through South Africa, experienced the incredible landscape, and learned a whole lot in the process. And in the end, we left with more than just awesome pictures and great memories, but we made a great friend. We’ll be back, Shaun!

Exceeded our expectations, private, comfortable, exclusive and professional.
5/5

Shaun was amazing from start to finish. He was professional and communicated well with everyone. Shaun's ability to track animals is astounding and uncanny. We spent an awesome weekend with the Honorary Rangers at Camp George. The camp is stunning - private, remote and beautiful. Comfortable and spacious accommodation.
The food was plentiful, tasty and well presented. It was a photographic weekend and we got some awesome photos. Shaun was sensitive to everyone in the vehicle and positioned the vehicle in such a way as to ensure everyone got in a good position to get the shot. We had a first experience with a mating pair of lions, a huge male lion roaring and then drinking in the river in front of us and then a breathtaking interaction with a huge male leopard marking his territory playing in front of the vehicle. Shaun has an ability to predict the animals movements which is awesome. We would definitely go on a safari with Shaun again.

I expected this to be the vacation of a lifetime. Moriti Safaris exceeded every expectation!!!
5/5

I was completely unprepared for Moriti Safari. I had mentally readied myself for the usual hustle and chaos that comes with most vacations as you try to maximize your experience in the limited time available. But the thoughtful planning by Shaun and William, precision execution by Liana and Jan, and the culinary masterpieces created by Lindsay left me speechless. We were under the caring and watchful eye of William from day one (especially my 5 year old daughter whom I think adopted William) all the way through the trip, and even to our departure flight. I returned home feeling relaxed, fulfilled, and in awe of the beautiful world of South Africa that they so lovingly introduced me to. I feel I now have an adopted family in Moriti Safari and I cannot thank them enough for taking such great care of us. The weather in early April was perfect! Cool mornings and warm sunny afternoons. We will be back! (But with much less luggage next time
