Our journey begins with your arrival in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s bustling capital city. And drive to Arba Minch, a scenic town located in southern Ethiopia. After landing, you'll drive to the highlands of Chencha to visit the Dorze people, renowned for their towering beehive-shaped huts and vibrant weaving traditions. The Dorze are also known for their use of false banana plants and intricate cotton spinning. You’ll explore the village, interact with locals, and enjoy breathtaking views over the Rift Valley and the twin lakes of Chamo and Abaya. In the evening, you will return to Arba Minch to rest and prepare for the next day journey into the heart of the Omo Valley.

Day 2
Arba Minch – Konso – Jinka

Today, you will begin with a morning will visit Lake Chamo, famous for its large population of crocodiles, hippos, and abundant birdlife. you will head south to the Konso region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its terraced agriculture and complex social structure. The Konso people are also famous for their wooden grave markers known as waka, which are carved to honor warriors and community elders. You will tour a traditional Konso village and learn about their unique cultural practices and architecture. Continuing the journey, you will drive through dramatic landscapes and scattered tribal villages until you reach Jinka, a vibrant market town that serves as the base for exploring some of the most remote tribes in the region.

Day 3

Today is dedicated to experiencing the rich traditions of the Hamar people. In the morning, you’ll visit a traditional Hamar village, where you’ll learn about their customs, such as their distinctive hairstyles, ochre-painted bodies, and their deep connection to cattle. If you're lucky and the timing is right, you may witness a traditional bull jumping ceremony, a rite of passage where a young man must leap over several bulls to prove his readiness for adulthood and marriage. This event is accompanied by singing, dancing, and symbolic whipping rituals performed by female relatives. Even if a ceremony is not taking place, the cultural exchange and storytelling with village elders and families will offer a powerful glimpse into a way of life that has remained unchanged for centuries.

Day 4
Jinka – Mursi and Drive to back to Addis Ababa

This morning, you will travel deep into the Mursi people are one of the most visually striking community in Africa, especially known for the women who wear large clay lip plates and elaborate body scarification. You will have a respectful and guided visit to one of their villages, gaining insight into their culture, daily life, and symbolic body adornment. After the visit, you’ll return to Jinka and back to Addis Ababa.

Day 5
Drive Addis Ababa to Semera and Hamadela Villages
Drive Addis Ababa to Semera and Hamadela Villages
You'll depart from Addis Ababa and go to Semera. Upon arrival, our guide will pick up you and driven to Semera Town for breakfast. You'll continue your journey to the base camp of the Dallol Depression, with a picnic lunch in Afdera Town along the way. After lunch, you'll continue driving to Dallol. Upon arrival, stop by Lake Asale to witness the stunning sunset over the salty lake. You'll enjoy dinner at the camp and spend the night at the Sabba campsite, sleeping outside under the stars.

Day 6
Danakil depression
Danakil depression
You'll visit Dallol Depression. You'll drive to Erta-Ale early in the morning. You'll drive to the colorful lands of Dallol to witness the stunning sunrise. You'll hike to the top to see the sulfur lakes and colorful landscapes. After the visit, you'll return to the cars and drive to the salt mountains, where you'll have a picnic breakfast and explore the salt rock formations. Following the exploration, you'll visit the salt workers, camel caravans (if you’re lucky), and natural potash oil springs. After the visit, you'll start driving to Erta-Ale Volcano, with a picnic lunch on the way. You'll arrive at the base camp of Erta-Ale and prepare for the sunset hike to visit the volcano and the subsequent night hike back to the camp. You'll spend the night sleeping outside under the stars.

Day 7
Drive back to Semera
Drive back to Semera
You'll drive back to Semera and later drive back to Addis Ababa. Early in the morning, you'll have another chance to see the stunning sunrise at the volcano. After the visit, you will return to the base camp for breakfast. After breakfast, you'll start your journey back to Semera. You'll arrive in Semera for a late lunch, followed by a drop-off at the airport back to Addis Ababa.
