Your Safari guide will collect you from your accommodation after breakfast. You will then drive to Tarangire National Park. This transit drive is approximately two and a half hours on good tarmac roads. The Park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. The Park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffe, bushbuck, and hartebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire than anywhere else on the planet! The huge and ancient Baobab trees can be seen here. Some of them are said to have lived for more than a thousand years.
Lunch will be at a picnic site inside the Park. After your game drive, you will transit to your accommodation in Karatu.

Upon arrival, you'll dive straight into an exhilarating game drive, where you’ll encounter the park’s remarkable biodiversity, including the renowned Big Five, swift cheetahs, towering giraffes, and vast herds of wildebeests and zebras. The Serengeti’s endless plains and breathtaking landscapes provide the perfect setting for an unforgettable safari adventure. As the day winds down, you’ll settle into your camp within the heart of the Serengeti, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the African wilderness.

Spend a full day exploring the vast Serengeti plains, home to the Big Five and abundant wildlife. Morning and afternoon game drives provide opportunities to spot lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, and giraffes. Witness dramatic predator-prey interactions and golden sunsets over endless savannahs. Return to Matawi Serengeti Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

After breakfast, depart the Serengeti and drive toward Ngorongoro. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a thrilling game drive, spotting rhinos, lions, elephants, hippos, and flamingos in this iconic wildlife sanctuary. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor. In the afternoon, ascend to the rim and drive to Karatu. Dinner and overnight at a lodge in Karatu.

After breakfast in Karatu, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. Spot tree-climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, and flamingos along the lake’s edge. Enjoy the lush scenery and abundant birdlife before departing for Arusha. Arrive by afternoon or evening, concluding your unforgettable 5-day Tanzanian safari filled with wildlife, stunning landscapes, and authentic African experiences.
