Arrive at Maun Airport in the afternoon and meet your safari guide. You will then transfer to a nearby camp for a relaxing afternoon by the pool, enjoying the calm atmosphere. Have dinner and rest as you prepare for your upcoming Savuti Marsh adventure.

Day 2

After breakfast, do any last-minute shopping before heading north through Shorobe village to the Mababe Wildlife Gate. The journey to Savuti passes through the Mababe Depression, once part of a gigantic lake that spread across northern Botswana. Good game sightings may be encountered en route.
Arrive in the greater Savuti area in the early afternoon, and visit some of Savuti’s waterholes, which can be very rewarding. Hundreds of birds and animals are often seen here as birds collect water for their chicks miles away.
In the evening you will enjoy an early shower followed by a delicious meal and a chat by the fire, recapping the day’s sightings.

Day 3

After breakfast, set off into Savuti to look for predators. The Savuti lions have been the subject of many documentaries because of their unique skills in hunting elephants.
After lunch, some rest, and afternoon tea, you will begin your afternoon game drive. Most wildlife, particularly elephants, visit the waterholes later in the day when it is hottest. Make one or two stops at the waterholes to enjoy the interactions of different species, including predators at times.
In the evening you will return to the camp for a shower, dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will visit the Savuti waterholes early in the day, which is the best time for spotting predators.
After lunch, some rest, and afternoon tea, you will begin your afternoon game drive around the Savuti waterholes, enjoying the sunset with its rich African colors setting behind the sandy ridge.
In the evening you will return to the camp for a hot bucket shower and a delicious three-course dinner.

Day 5

After an early morning breakfast, you will set off for game drives around Savuti (marsh, waterholes, famous riverbanks, hills), following up on some of the previous sightings.
At lunchtime you will return to the camp to eat and rest and perhaps catch up on some reading. In the afternoon you go on game drives with one or two stops at the waterholes to enjoy the interactions of different species, including predators.
In the evening you will return to the camp for a hot bucket shower and a hearty dinner.
