Kigali – Nyanza – Butare – Nyungwe National Park

After an early breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from your kigali hotel at 6:00 AM for the scenic drive to Nyungwe National Park. En route, stop at Nyanza King’s Palace Museum to explore Rwanda’s royal heritage and then visit the Butare National Museum, the country’s largest cultural museum. Continue through rolling hills and tea plantations before arriving at Nyungwe in the late afternoon. Settle into your lodge and enjoy dinner while taking in the mountain views. Overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel or similar.

Start your day with an exciting trek in Nyungwe Forest to see chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Follow experienced trackers through lush rainforest, listening to calls and rustling leaves. After lunch, enjoy the Nyungwe Canopy Walk, a suspended bridge offering panoramic views of the forest below. Spend the evening relaxing at your lodge and soaking in the peaceful mountain scenery. Colobus Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Begin the morning trekking to see the striking black-and-white Angolan colobus monkeys. After your forest adventure, drive north to Volcanoes National Park, passing through scenic Rwandan highlands. Arrive at your lodge in time for dinner and an evening of rest in preparation for the gorilla trek the following day.
