Day 1

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by our Aim 2 Goal Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel in Moshi.
Your mountain guide will meet you for a detailed briefing, gear check, and final preparations for your climb.
Enjoy dinner and relax as you get ready for the adventure ahead.

Day 2

Machame Gate – Machame camp

Machame Gate – Machame camp

At 10:00 a.m., your driver will pick you up from your accommodation and transfer you to Machame Gate, the official starting point of the Machame Route. After completing registration and a brief orientation, you will begin your trek.

The hike will take approximately 5 to 7 hours, winding through the lush Montane forest. Along the trail, you will pass towering trees, diverse flora, and the occasional glimpse of local wildlife. The forested path offers shade, a refreshing atmosphere, and spectacular views of Kilimanjaro’s slopes.

You will arrive at Machame Camp (3,000 meters) in the late afternoon, where your crew will have your tents ready. Relax, enjoy a hot dinner, and rest overnight in preparation for the next day’s ascent.

Day 3

Machame camp to Shiras

Machame camp to Shiras

After breakfast at Machame Camp, we set out early for Shira Camp. The trek takes approximately 5 to 7 hours, covering a distance of about 10 km through the open, scenic grassy moorlands of Kilimanjaro’s mid-altitudes.

As you ascend, the forest gradually opens up, revealing vast expanses of heather, giant lobelias, and towering groundsels, typical of the alpine landscape. The air becomes crisper, and the spectacular views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding valleys make the climb truly rewarding.

Along the way, there are several rest stops to hydrate, take photos, and enjoy light snacks prepared by your trekking crew. The gradual ascent allows your body to acclimatize to the increasing altitude.

By late afternoon, you will arrive at Shira Campsite at 3,800 meters. Your tents will be ready, giving you time to relax, enjoy a hot dinner, and rest overnight, preparing for the higher altitudes ahead.

Day 4

Shira Camp to Barraco

After breakfast at Shira Camp, you will embark on a 5 to 7-hour trek to Barranco Camp. The route takes you across a broad valley, offering panoramic views of Kilimanjaro’s rugged landscapes. Along the way, you will ascend a ridge crest and carefully traverse sections of scree slopes, providing both a physical challenge and spectacular scenery.

The trail passes through alpine desert terrain, dotted with giant lobelias and other unique high-altitude flora. Your guides will provide regular rest stops to hydrate, enjoy snacks, and capture photos of the breathtaking surroundings. This gradual ascent also helps your body acclimatize to the increasing altitude.

By late afternoon, you will arrive at Barranco Camp (3,900 m), where your tents will be prepared. Relax, enjoy a hot dinner, and rest overnight in anticipation of the next day’s climb over the famous Barranco Wall.

Day 5

Barracco to Barafu

After breakfast at Barranco Camp, you will continue your trek toward Barafu Camp. The hike takes you across the floor of the impressive Great Barranco Wall, a dramatic landscape of rugged cliffs and rocky terrain. Along the way, you will reach the final water point on this route, the Karanga River, where you can refill and rest briefly.

The trail gradually ascends through alpine desert, offering panoramic views of Kilimanjaro’s peaks and surrounding valleys. Trekking through this high-altitude terrain provides excellent acclimatization in preparation for the summit attempt.

Upon arrival at Barafu Camp (4,600 m), your tents will be ready for you. After settling in, enjoy a hot dinner and get a good night’s rest, as this camp serves as the base for the final summit push to Uhuru Peak.

Day 6

Summit – Uhuru Peak & Descent to Mweka Camp

Summit – Uhuru Peak & Descent to Mweka Camp

Today marks the pinnacle of your Kilimanjaro adventure! You will start very early, around 1:00 a.m., departing from Barafu Camp for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point at 5,895 meters. The climb to the summit typically takes 6 to 7 hours and follows the route via Stella Point.

Trekking in the quiet, high-altitude pre-dawn hours allows you to experience the dramatic alpine landscape under the starlit sky. Reaching Stella Point and then Uhuru Peak, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking sunrise over Kilimanjaro’s slopes and the vast Tanzanian plains below—a truly unforgettable moment.

After a short rest and ample photo opportunities at the summit, you will begin your descent toward Mweka Camp, which takes approximately 5 to 7 hours. The trail passes through alpine desert and then lush rainforest as you lose altitude, offering a stark contrast in scenery along the way.

Day 7

Moshi to Arusha

On your final day on Kilimanjaro, enjoy an early breakfast at Mweka Camp before beginning the descent to Mweka Gate at Mweka Wildlife College. The trek down takes approximately 3 to 4 hours, passing through the lush rainforest as you gradually descend to lower altitudes. Along the way, take in the vibrant flora and reflect on your incredible mountain achievement.

Upon reaching Mweka Gate, your support team will meet you and transfer you to Lindrin for a special celebration to honor your successful summit. Enjoy a festive moment with your trekking crew and fellow climbers, capturing memories of this unforgettable journey.

After the celebration, you will continue your transfer to Moivaro Coffee Lodge in Arusha, where you will enjoy a well-deserved dinner and overnight stay, resting comfortably after your epic Kilimanjaro adventure.

After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation and transfer you to Tarangire National Park. The park is named after the Tarangire River, the area’s only permanent water source, which attracts abundant wildlife throughout the year. Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds and is home to over 550 species of birds, as well as buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest. Predators such as lions and leopards also roam the park, creating exciting wildlife encounters. The landscape is a striking mix of baobab trees, acacia woodlands, tall grasses, and seasonal swamps, best appreciated from the open roof of your safari vehicle.

Lunch is served in a scenic picnic area with a river-view observatory, offering the chance to witness wildlife in action, sometimes even a hunt, while enjoying your meal. In the afternoon, you’ll continue on a game drive before heading to your accommodation for the evening.

Karatu to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will embark on a scenic en route game drive through the Serengeti, where you have the opportunity to encounter the “Big Five”—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros—alongside a variety of other wildlife. Following this, your journey continues to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site formed millions of years ago. This spectacular natural wonder spans approximately 260 square kilometers and descends 600 meters to the crater floor, which is covered in rich grassy pastures that support diverse grazing animals including zebras, gazelles, buffalo, and warthogs. The crater also serves as a protected sanctuary for endangered black rhinos, providing a rare opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

After enjoying lunch and a full afternoon of wildlife exploration inside the crater, you will transfer to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
