Enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Mkulumadzi Lodge, passing colourful local villages, farmland, and bush. Set at the confluence of the Shire and Mkulumadzi Rivers within Majete Wildlife Reserve, the lodge is surrounded by Miombo woodland, Combretum forests, and riparian mosaics. Majete spans over 70,000 hectares and is home to the Big Five. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon activity or simply relax and take in the wild surroundings.

After breakfast and farewells, embark on a scenic 4.5-hour road transfer to Kuthengo Camp. Nestled within Liwonde National Park, one of Southern Africa’s premier birding destinations, the camp offers stunning riverine landscapes and abundant wildlife. Much of the park consists of Shire River floodplains, home to a healthy population of elephants best observed on a boat safari. Depending on your arrival, enjoy lunch overlooking the river or, if arriving later, afternoon tea followed by an evening game drive to begin exploring this remarkable area.
