Ngorongoro National Park

An early morning game. Return by 9am. Have breakfast, and drive to Ngorongoro national park about 3hrs drive. Have lunch, and go for a game drive to the crater.
Other than being the biggest intact (unbroken) volcanic caldera on Earth, the Ngorongoro Crater is also a natural sanctuary for some of the densest populations of large mammals in Africa. Due to its enclosed nature, the Ngorongoro Crater has effectively formed its own ecosystem. Breakfast, go for the game drive to the crater. You will see various animals. Game drive takes about 4-6hrs.

Hot air balloon safari - Game drive

You will start your day with an unforgettable sunrise hot air balloon safari. See the sun set fire to the savannah as predators such as leopards and lions hunt for their morning meal.
You will have a bush breakfast. Later you can drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible Lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetah sightings. You will enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the centre in the shade of the giant acacia trees.

In the afternoon you will follow the Kopjes Circuit, which usually attracts a number of lion and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons – including lions, which like to lie in wait for animals coming to drink! Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Transfer to North Serengeti

Transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Serengeti North Kogatende airstrip. Arrive meet your driver guide for a half day game drive Serengeti north. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area, with prides of lion up to 30 strong.

The park is well known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the “big five”, named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: Lion: the Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due in part to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. African Leopard: these reclusive predators are commonly seen in the Seronera region but are present throughout the national park with the population at around 1,000 African Elephant.
